Hector's POV

As soon as I exited the car, Jasper was pacing back and forth on high alert. Something was off, but I could not pinpoint what it was. My heart raced as I ran to the other side and opened the door for Maliyla just in time. After she stepped out, something struck the car in a matter of seconds, causing it to flip multiple times before bursting into flames. I growled at him as soon as Leonard stepped out of the pack house.

"Leonard, get her out of here now," I screamed through the mind link, "All warriors, get to your stations. We need three teams at the packhouse right now!" Closing the link, I grabbed Maliyla. "I want you inside," I roared, handing her to Leonard.

"PROTECT MATE," Jasper's voice echoed in my mind.

"Nothing will happen to her," I assured him.

Jasper repeated, "PROTECT MATE." He wanted to remain next to he

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 74

Maliyla's POVI swear my heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might burst after walking out of the hospital. Every movement seemed to be happening at a snail's pace. My emotions were racing at once: relief, fear, and sadness. I feared what awaited but realized I had to stay strong."Always stay close to me," Hector reminded me as we stepped through the hospital's doors. There was a tense atmosphere as we walked toward the car. Upon reaching the vehicle, Hector opened the door and motioned for me to get in. Silence filled the car after he sat in the driver's seat and started the engine. Have you ever seen a movie where a couple is driving through a creepy town, and you yell at them to turn around because you know they are going into danger? Yes, we did that!"Don't worry, Maliyla," Hathor whispered to me."I'm worried about

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 73

Hector's POVIt had been five hours since we had last seen Jonathan or Katia. After scouting the area where their vehicle had been abandoned, we could not locate them. There was no scent, nothing more than a ghostly absence. After Maliyla fainted, Daunte and I rushed her to the hospital, and I stayed by her side the entire time, pleading with her not to leave me. In addition to me being concerned, Jasper was unable to sense Hathor. My heart was heavy with worry and fear as I grappled with the possibility of losing Jonathan, Katia, and Maliyla. The uncertainty and helplessness gnawed at my soul, leaving me emotionally drained and desperate for answers."Resta con me, Bellissima, stay with me," I pleaded as I gently raised her hands to my lips."No change?" Daunte asked when he entered the room.As I placed Maliyla's hands back on the bed, I s

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 72

Maliyla's POVAs I opened my eyes, I saw nothing but white mist. I felt as if I had entered an entirely different world. Fog enveloped me, obscuring my vision of anything beyond a few feet. The air was damp and relaxed, with a mysterious stillness that sent shivers down my spine. I couldn't shake the feeling that I had stumbled into a realm untouched by time, a place where secrets whispered in the mist and awaited discovery. Feeling my way through the fog, I walked forward but didn't seem to get anywhere."Maliyla," a whisper called my name."Who's there?" I called, looking around but finding nothing but white mist.In the distance, I saw a light shining, its intensity growing as it drew closer. My eyes were drawn to the silhouette of someone slowly walking towards me. My heart raced as I stood there, not knowing who or what was coming. As the figure appro

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 71

Maliyla's POVThe more Erick talked, the more my blood began to boil. My composure was tested as Hector reminded me about the humans in the restaurant, but Hathor was my main concern. It was only a matter of time until Hathor took over. Even though I feared she would do so, something inside me told me all would be well. Upon seeing Erick seated, I could no longer control my emotions. His cocky grin made me want to jump over the table and slap it off his face, as I also wanted to rip out his fucking heart."In exchange, I will give you her mother," Erick's cocky words ignited the fire within me, and I could no longer resist."I'm not yours, and you can stop acting big and bad. You don't even have your fucken wolf," I told him."Is that what you think, my sweet kitten?" Erick asked."That's what I know," I said, rising from my seat.

  • The Rejected Alpha's Heart   Chapter 70

Hector's POVMotherfucker had a lot of fuckin balls, showing up like that. There was a look of confidence on his face that I knew would be difficult to break down. It was getting harder to control Jasper as he was ready to come out. As I glanced at Jonathan, he held Katia protectively in his arms. The first thing that came to mind was Maliyla, then Katia and her current state, and then all the people in the restaurant, some of whom were humans. There was one rule I had for wolves: they should never shift in the presence of humans. The rumors had been heard, but nothing had been seen, and I wanted to keep it that way."Jonathan," I said through the mind-link as I nodded at him. No words were needed to express what we were thinking. Katia was immediately moved behind him. Then Daunte stood up, stepping in front of Katia. Taking a seat, Maliyla leaned back. The expression on her face was
