The moonstone.

It was an actual moonstone.

"Stretch out your hands," She instructed us.

We did and then she gently removed the moonstone from its velvet encasing and placed it on my palm.

Damon covered my palm with his, and placed his other hand under while I placed my other hand on top.

Latifah nodded for us to go ahead and we recited the ancient mantra that we'd discovered in the ceremonials book.

I'd rehearsed it over a hundred times; one, because I was nervous and two, because it was in a language I did not understand, hence pronunciations were hard.

Damon on the other hand had absolutely no trouble at all learning it, it was like he read it just one time and got it down.
