    I stood outside Leonidas' office for a long time. My fingers hovered over the knob for a long time but I didn't go with the temptation to open it. I was a ball of nerves.     The smell of dust clawed me awake from unconsciousness. The first thing I took note of was the cloud of smoke that hovered in the air. I rolled to my side, ignoring the pounding headaches at the base of my skull. Christopher lay an inch away, a large boulder sitting on his feet.
