“Oh my God, it’s you, Amira!” I jumped back in surprise. “You scared me! What are you doing here?”

“I came to surprise you,” she said with a smile. “I’ve been waiting for you. Where have you been? I missed you.”

“I was training with Vishal,” I told her.

“You’ve been training so hard lately. I think we should spend some time together as friends. What do you think?” she asked.

“Amira, you know I don’t have time for fun. I have too much work to do. I can’t stop training. You know who I have to fight,” I said sadly. “I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. Take your time,” she whispered. “Let’s go inside.”

I felt bad for saying no to her. It wasn’t her fault, and her idea wasn’t bad. But I had no time to be happy or have fun.

I was only living for my revenge against Richard, the Alpha King who rejected and tried to kill me. Amira and I went inside, and she started talking about a guy she met.
