Chapter 1: The spectre in the mirror

[ Ah ah ah ah, I was startled and screamed when I saw that the figure in the mirror was not me but a complete stranger.]

This is the first day Amanda has moved from London to Glasgow to work. A small apartment on the 12th floor, arranged by the company. As soon as I entered room 1203A, a musty smell hit my nose because no one had been there for a long time, giving me a strange cold and gloomy feeling. Not only that, but Amanda also found that a mirror placed next to the door was a strange thing for someone who knew a little about feng shui like her.

According to feng shui, the door is the place where luck and fortune come in. As for the mirror, it is a place to attract luck regardless of good or bad, so placing a mirror opposite the door will cause good luck and fortune to pour out. Amanda thinks maybe the Glasgow people are not superstitious so they don't care much about the layout of the moon feng shui.

But the scariest thing was just walking through that mirror, not her image but a complete stranger. The girl was wearing a white dress, her hair was long and smooth, but her face was a bit pale to numb.

“Ah…Do you see a figure in the mirror?”Amanda was startled when she saw a figure in the mirror, she asked Vera, the human resources officer, to take her to the room.

“Whose silhouette? my sisters?” Vera looked at Amanda and sneered.

Vera's face is square, thin, pale skin, slanted eyes, slightly short but pulled back by lips with fresh corners of the mouth. She rarely smiles, each time she smiles so blandly that her whole face is a bit dark like this room.

Normally, the apartment building, on the 12A floor, is actually the 13th floor, but because of the bad number of floors, when it is built, people put it at 12A, so it will be very bright at such a high altitude with a lot of sunshine. With this apartment, it's the complete opposite, just entering the door, Amanda felt a little cold. The dark room in the middle of autumn still had a bit of the afternoon sun.

Amanda went to the door leading to the balcony, pulled the gray curtain all the way to the edge of the door, an open space outside appeared. At 5 p.m. sunset, bright golden rays of sunlight peeked out from behind the high-rise apartment buildings on the opposite side.

Vera turned on all the lights in the room, but Amanda somehow still had a chill down her spine

“Sister, this room is too cold”. She turned to look at her sister with a worried expression.

It's just that this room hasn't been occupied for a long time. Moreover, you are new from London, so you are not familiar with autumn here. Winter colder than auturm. Vera said as she went to check the rooms and drained the water from the faucet.

Amanda also toured the rooms and nooks and crannies of the house. 1 living room, 1 bedroom, 1 small kitchen, 1 karaoke room with soundproofing, 1 balcony. But she found it quite strange that in the karaoke room, there was a big pillar in the middle of the room.

“It's so luxury here”. Amanda smiled and said to Vera.

“What?”. Vera didn't understand what Amanda meant.

“Well, I see there's a singing room there”. Amanda pointed to the side.

Vera just nodded, didn't say anything more. “Everything is fine, I'll go home!”

Amanda was sitting in the salon resting her head on the arm of the chair to rest. She thought back to the shadow in the mirror and shivered a bit, maybe she was tired from the road, so she gave birth to an illusion. She's been this old and never once did she think there was a ghost.

Amanda half-closed her eyes, a little blood of her parents and younger brother at home, remembering the warm sea, always full of the familiar sound of crashing waves, every morning running on the beach inhaling the salty smell of the sea. Remember the street vendors at the beach, and the soft softness under the feet when you take off your sandals and stand on the smooth sand.

I naturally crave family meals! Amanda frowned, opening her eyes to look through the balcony window. Ask yourself, just 2 years, let's enjoy Glasgow this time.

Amanda stepped out onto the balcony, looking down into the distance, so she could cover almost the whole of Glasgow. The houses overlap, the Red River looks down from above is really pink, the trees are dyed in the sunset even more yellow. In the slightly gloomy autumn sky, dark clouds flutter in front like the soul of this person far from home.

Ring ring ring….

The phone rang on the table. "Hello" Nhu Mai picked up the phone to listen.

“Have you checked in yet?” The voice of a man on the other side rang out, but she didn't know who.

"Ah! I'm Gregori, the director of the northern region." Manly sound with a little hum from the other side of the phone.

Unexpectedly, an ordinary employee just moved here, but the director cares so much. Amanda thinks people are very emotional here in Glasgow. Amanda is happy to receive such caring attention.

"Yes, I just arrived, thank you very much Gregori!" Amanda with her sweet London voice has made listeners feel very comfortable.

"It's going to be quite cold soon. If you're free, invite the sisters in the company to go shopping for winter supplies! If you have any difficulties, please give me a call, I will try to arrange the best for you." Gregori reminds Amanda when the cold winter is coming, perhaps he is afraid that she is not familiar from London.

The two greeted each other and hung up. Amada immediately got up happier, sang a song softly, brought 2 suitcases open to clean up.

Opening the wardrobe she was startled to see a pure white bridal dress. It was absolutely beautiful, dotted with sparkling Vera Sa beads all over her chest. A cup-shaped dress, this wearer must have a C-size round. Material is soft Chiffon fabric, the front is covered with a layer of lace running along the body. Small waist, with a belt of silver chain.

Overall it looks really beautiful that every girl wants to wear on their wedding day. I don't know who left it here before. Somehow she looked at it fascinated and wanted to try it on.

Amanda took off all her clothes, took out her dress and put it on. Gently pulling the zipper on the back felt like a tailor made for herself. Suddenly she was startled when there was a sound coming from the singing room.
