LUCIAN
After a hectic day at the office and a boring family meeting, almost running a crazy looking woman over wasn't what I expected. She looked so unbothered after trying to get her filthy blood on my hands and it pissed me off. "Boss, she looks so much like the lady in that image," Cade informed me as I got back into the car and I paused to give it a thought. "She looks so haggard and quite different." I replied, quite skeptical. "Yes, But she still has a striking resemblance with the lady," He pressed on, glancing back at her. "Find out if she's the one. Keep an eye on her but don't scare her away," I instructed and leaned further against the seat. A wicked smile tugged at the corner of my lips. I couldn't wait to find out if she was actually the one. My urge to get my pound of flesh would finally be satiated. After a while, he insisted on wanting to get off the car and I asked Blake to stop. He stepped down and Blake zoomed off towards my mansion. I had barely gotten home when my phone rang. He confirmed she was indeed the one and told me she was wasted in a bar. "Good. Don't scare her away. Just text me the location and I'll be there," I instructed and he did as I said. On my arrival at the bar, I spotted her at a corner, downing shots of tequila and I decided to act real quick. I whisked her out of the bar without being noticed and managed to get her to my mansion. She looked like a stack of bones when we got back and I wondered why Damon Rein's precious daughter looked like someone who just escaped asylum. Compared to what the media outlets described, this lady in me bed was the exact opposite. Nonetheless, I was ready to give it a shot. I instructed Mia, my housekeeper to clean her up and returned to see she was still asleep. While she slept, I slipped out of the room and strode towards my study. I twisted the knob and swiftly rummaged through the drawers before placing my hand on a photograph. I withdrew it instantly and returned to the room with it. My gaze settled on her petite figure sprawled on the bed before returning to the photograph I was holding. Though some details matched, it didn't look exactly like her. According to Cade, this image seemed to have been taken five years ago. I concluded she looked quite different now because of time and other factors. A mischievous smirk graced my lips as I tucked the photograph into my drawer. The thought of finally getting to have my own pound of flesh sent a wave of satisfaction through me and I grinned from ear to ear before returning to what I was doing on my system. The night drifted faster than I expected and it was time to set out for the office again. I cursed slightly under my breath, realising how much work I still had to conclude on my system, before shutting it down. I rose from the couch and walked up to the sleepyhead who had made a mess of my bed from her constant twists and turns during the night. She looked so peaceful while asleep. Who'd have thought a bad egg like Damon Rein could bear such an angelic looking bunny? So pathetic she'd have to suffer for his sins henceforth. I turned around indifferently and headed to the bathroom to have a quick bath, after which I returned to the room in nothing but a white towel. As I proceeded to the closet, a soft thud drew my attention and I turned to see her walking out in my huge pair of flats. A chuckle escaped my lips and she froze in place, realising she wasn't the only one in room. Compared to how peaceful and innocent she looked, I was surprised to find out she had quite a sharp tongue. Her words were a sharp contrast to her lamb-like appearance and I found that quite fascinating. "I'm worse than a psycho," I responded in my head, shooting her an icy stare after she asked the ridiculous question. I was indeed worse than a psycho and I couldn't help but wonder how she'd react when she finds out this is just a tip of the iceberg. "Get your shit together. You are stuck with me now. In fact, you work for me now." I declared with a firm tone and she burst into laughter. "Work? I can't remember telling you I needed employment. What are you saying? I barely even know you... Let me go!" She hollered but I ignored her and proceeded to fix my tie before grabbing my briefcase. "I can get you arrested for kidnap, you know that, right?" She threatened, blocking my way as I walked to the door and I puased, thinking she'd be rational enough to step aside but she remained rooted to the spot and I tossed her back on the bed with my forearm. She stumbled off and cursed at me, till I left the room and shut the door. "Make sure she's well fed but keep an eye on her. No one must know she's in here and she must not escape at all cost," I instructed Cade before getting into the backseat of my black jaguar. Blake, my driver stepped on the gas and in no time, we were on the highway. I felt so fulfilled, knowing I had a valued possession of my archenemy in my custody. Damon thought he could clear his tracks so well. This time around, I would make him go on his knees and plead for death. "Increase the pace of this car, Blake." "There's traffic, Boss." "Beat the damn traffic!" I responded impatiently and he adjusted in his seat. The car accelerated and in no time, we were on the premises of the Tempest cooperations. I alighted from the car in my usual glory when it came to a halt and handed my briefcase to Blake before striding through the lobby with an expressionless face. I ignored the flirtatious stare from my gullible female employees who would do anything to get fucked by me but sadly, none of them was my type. I got into the elevator with Blake and stepped out when it reached the eleventh floor. I got into my office and took off my suit before settling on my seat. Lena, my secretary came in, all smiles with a stack of documents and kept reeling off the content while I focused on the system before me. My phone rang, interrupting her and she paused midway. I glanced at the screen with no enthusiasm and realised it was Cade. I asked the latter to call me if there was an issue, but it was barely past noon. A knot formed between my brows as I answered the call. "Boss, She's going berserk. She insists on wanting to leave. What should I do?" His worried voice sounded from the other end and my frown deepened. "What the hell do you mean you can't handle an ordinary woman?" "No, Boss.... I can, but---" "Fuck! She's shredding your documents!" "What?!" He ended the call before I could make another utterance and my jaw clenched. I gnashed my teeth and bawled my fists, seething with unhinged fury. Damn that bitch! I yanked my coat off the seat and stormed out the office. I never felt so angry in a while. Lena scurried backwards in fright as she watched me exit the office. I was trying to be lenient on the bitch in the meantime and she dare try to play games with me? I dialed Cade's contact as I got out of the elevator but he was no longer responding. The Bastard had just one job which was to keep her in check!LUCIAN After a hectic day at the office and a boring family meeting, almost running a crazy looking woman over wasn't what I expected. ELSAThe blaring sound of the horn, coupled with the deafening sound of screeching tyres gave me goosebumps and I bawled my fist tightly and gnashed my teeth, awaiting death that never came. The sound ceased and my eyes still remained tightly shut till I heard the voice of a furious man. “If you badly want to die, get a vial of poison and down it in one shot. That way, you'll be responsible for your own death!” I opened my eyes and shot him a blank stare. He was dressed in a corporate suit and I scanned him from head to toe. His facial features were attractive and he seemed like Jason's type. Deceiving gullible ladies like myself with their innocent appearance.I sucked my teeth loudly and walked away from the scene, leaving him befuddled as he returned to his car and zoomed off. My gaze lingered on the car as he left and I gave up on trying to get run over by a car, knowing passers-by would come to my rescue. I kept walking aimlessly till it became dark. The number of people on the
ELSA I wiped the endless stream of tears that rolled down my cheeks as the taxi I boarded came to a halt before the grandiose gates of the Reins’ manor. I could only refer to it as “the Reins’ manor,” because I knew getting used to calling this place my home again would take a long while.I alighted from the car with nothing but the dress I was putting on, not even a bag or a cellphone. I glanced at the bandage around my arm and I was too ashamed to step closer to the gates. I leaned against the fence and burst into tears for the hundredth time. After crying for a while, I finally stepped closer to the gate. It required a passcode and I decided to try my luck. The last passcode was my year of birth and I entered it hopefully only to be downcast when it didn't open. The guards noticed my presence and led me into the compound. I walked sluggishly behind them with my head bowed. I was too ashamed to hold my head up, considering how I left here without a chase 4 years ago. As they led m
ElSA It was Sam the gardener. The atom of hope I had left shattered and I slumped back in bed.“Please, take care of her and let me know if there's a new development,” The doctor said to Sam as she exited the room with her nurses.“Please ma'am, take it easy on yourself.” He uttered in a soft and comforting tone but I felt no better.“Where's my husband?” I asked amidst sobs, hoping to hear something positive that'd make me feel better. He was hesitant to speak at first but finally spoke up. “He's at home ma'am,” He informed me and I bit hard on my lower lip, trying to hold back the tears till it bled profusely.“You're hurting yourself, ma'am. Everything will be fine,” He pressed on in a comforting tone but I couldn't care about hurting myself at the moment.“Is he aware of my situation? And what about Vivian, is she rotting behind bars?” I asked with fury etched on my face.“I informed him about your situation, I don't know why he's yet to arrive. About ma'am Vivian, I couldn't cal
ELSAI glanced at the clock on the wall, anxiously waiting for Jason’s return. It was past 4pm and he was yet to be back. I needed to break this good news to him because he deserved to know, even if he had been acting weird lately after letting his ex, Vivian live with us with claims of being stranded. The tales didn't add up on her arrival but I just decided to let her be for Jason's sake but it seemed like she had vowed not to let me live peacefully in my matrimonial home as she always stirred a ruckus at any given opportunity. I glanced at the test results I was holding and traced my finger across its edges nervously. In the past few days, I felt extremely dizzy, nauseous and tired. I visited the hospital and the doctor suggested a pregnancy test which turned out positive.A joyful smile sprawled on my lips as I rubbed my palm on my still flat stomach. The satisfaction of knowing I had a life growing inside of me gladdened my heart and I was overwhelmed. Today is supposed to be h
