Lenora
Zade took my hands in his as he led me to his car that was parked across the road. A man dressed in black suit rushed forward to open the door, but Zade shook his head, indicating that he'll do it and the guard bowed, before walking back to the car. With a huge smile on his face, he opened the car door for me and I got in, muttering my thanks. I didn't even realize that there was a driver inside the car already. He got in too and immediately, the driver started the car. A thought suddenly popped into my head. Even though he had told me not to worry about anything, I just couldn't help it. Clearing my throat, I started. “So tell me, Zade, are you sure that your pack is gonna accept me?” I asked him. He took my hands into his and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Why are you worried, baby girl? You don't have to worry about being accepted by them or not. They have no choice than to—” “No, Zade. I don't think I can bear it if they don't accept me. What if they see me as a spy? I'm sure some of them already knew me as Axel's mate, and the both of you are rivals, don't you understand?” “Are you a spy?” He arched a brow and I glared at him and the next minute, he burst into laughter. “You are not a spy, so why are you worried, huh?” I exhaled slowly. He really doesn't understand what I'm aiming at. No matter how much he claims that his pack members can't decide or dictate for him, I know for sure what an angry mob is. What if they gang up against him and overthrone him just because of me? I don't think I can bear any more rejection from anyone. Heck, I don't think I can ever forgive myself if I am the reason why he has to suffer. “What are you thinking about?” He snapped his fingers at me and I exhaled again. “You really have no idea how scared I am. I doubt that there is anyone who would accept the wife of his enemy or even his mate. Your pack members might ask you to send me away and no matter how you try to ignore it, I'm sure you can't refuse them,” His lips curved into a smile. “You really have no idea how much my pack has been waiting for me to find a mate. I doubt that they would ask me to send you away,” “Come on, Zade, it would have been different if I was someone else. I am Axel's mate for crying out loud–” “You are no longer his mate. You are his ex mate, isn't it?” He isn't seeing things the way I'm seeing it and it's driving me crazy. “I–” “Do you wanna see if the pack will accept you or not?” He cut me off and reluctantly, I nodded. “I'll prove to you that they will accept you. So please stop overthinking things?” He said as he brought my hands to his lips and it sent a shiver down my spine. I hissed at the lack of contact and a low chuckle escaped his lips. He must have noticed my frustration. I just forced myself to stare outside the window. He fished his phone from his pants and began to type. Somehow, I wished I could know what he was typing, especially as he looked so concentrated. After a while, he placed the phone back in his pants. His hands found mine, his fingers intertwined with mine in a gentle grasp. “We are almost there,” he said, his voice low and soothing. I nodded, my eyes fixed on the passing landscape. The trees seemed to grow taller and closer together. A wooden sign came into view. It bore a majestic image of a wolf's head, its eyes burning with a fierce inner light. Two daggers crossed over its forehead, their blades adorned with ancient runes. “Blood Moon Pack” was boldly inscribed on the board too. That was the Pack's symbol, just like Thunderwolf Pack's symbol was a Wolf's body, strong and Majestic, with the wings of an eagle, sprouting from its back. If I had given Axel any pups, that symbol would have been tatted on me, but since I couldn't, his pack saw no reason to have it done. “Take your mind off him,” Zoey hissed and I exhaled before pushing Axel off my head. I felt a sense of peace settle over me, as if the forest itself was welcoming and embracing me. The path opened up into a clearing, revealing a vast compound. “We are here,” The driver announced as he parked the car. As I stepped out of the car and onto the driveway, my eyes widened in awe. Before me lay a majestic mansion, its elegant facade glowing warmly in the sunlight. The house's creamy stone walls seemed to glimmer, as if infused with a subtle golden light. “Wow!” I breathed, my gaze drinking in the breathtaking sight before me. “This is…. incredible,” I couldn't even find the right words to use. A glittering swimming pool sparkled like a turquoise jewel, surrounded by greenery and vibrant flowers that spilled colorfully across the grounds. As I stepped closer, I noticed a beautiful fountain, its waters dancing in the air like a choreographed ballet. The soft melody of the fountain's song filled the air, blending with the sweet scent of flowers, to create an enchanting atmosphere. I could sit by the fountain and never get tired of watching it. Never have I seen a mansion as big as the one. I mean a mansion with a fountain and a swimming pool at once? Axel's was big, but it isn't as big as this one. “Welcome to your new home,” Zade said, offering his arm. I took it, feeling a sense of belonging wash over me. As we walked towards the house, a group of people burst out from the house, their faces even though filled with curiosity, were friendly. “Alpha,” One of them called out. He was a tall, muscular man with a shaved head and a warm smile. “Welcome back!” Zade nodded, his eyes scanning the group. “Everyone, this is Lenora, my mate,” “Welcome back home, Luna,” “It's glad to have you here,” The group erupted into a chorus of greetings and welcomes, their faces lighting up with smiles. I couldn't believe my eyes. I know for sure that if not all, some of them knew that I was Axel's mate, yet they were welcoming me with open arms. Zade turned to face me and he gave me a small smile. I knew what that look entailed. 'I told you, didn't I?’ I felt a sense of warmth and belonging, as if I had finally found a place where I truly belonged. 'And what if they come to find out that their Luna is barren. Do you think they would still be kind to you?’ A familiar voice sounded behind the back of my head, but I did everything possible to push it down. I can't let that nagging feeling spoil my mood right now. Since Zade had assured me that there was nothing to worry about, then so be it. “How are you feeling now?” Zade asked as he took my hands in his, leading me into the house. “I don't know, Zade. I feel like I'm dreaming,” I let out a small laugh and he did too. “I never expected that they would accept me easily. I guess I was just worrying for nothing, wasn't it?” “Yes, you were. I told you earlier that you had nothing to worry about,” He winked at me. “You were right all along,” I said as I walked into the house. I was struck by the cozy and welcoming atmosphere as we entered the house. The interior was decorated with plush furnishings and warm, bright lights. My gaze soared up, drawn to the dazzling and massive crystal chandelier. It sent shafts of colored lights dancing across the walls and floor. My breath caught in my throat as I stared, mesmerized at the chandelier's beauty. “This is truly magnificent. Your house is incredible,” I whispered to Zade, feeling as if I've stepped into a fairy tale and he chuckled, as he pulled me into a hug. “Well, this is your house too and I'm glad you loved it,” He led me to a comfortable sofa where we sat down together. “You are Lenora, right?” A voice sounded behind me and I turned around to see who it was. “I know this is too soon, but can you tell me about yourself?” “This is too soon, Zariel. She just got to the pack,” Zade said through gritted teeth. “Let her speak, Zade,” Zariel hissed, but Zade stood up, his eyes locking onto mine. “I think it's time for us to get some rest,” He said. “Let's go, Lenora. We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow,” “Why are you running away from this conversation, Zade? Are you afraid that the truth will come out?” A frown crept its way to my face. What was going on? What is the truth? I turned around to face the man. He has a smirk on his face. “Do you think that I don't know the truth, huh?” “Guards!” Zade called and two men dressed in black suits rushed forward. They bowed before Zade. “Escort him out of here and make sure he never steps foot here,” He commanded. “Sending me away is not gonna stop me from saying the truth, Zade,” The man retorted. “What is going on?” I asked Zade, but he didn't say anything. He just dragged me away like I was a puppy. Even though I was still confused about what was going on, I followed him like a blind puppy. I made a mental note: I'll come find this man later and know everything.Lenora's Point Of View “Oh my goodness!” Luna Ophelia cooed as soon as we walked into the house. She quickly rose up from the couch as she came to hug me. “You're back.” She added as she pulled me into her arms. My lips tugged into a smile. Heaven knows how much I've missed this woman. “Yes, mother.” I responded and wrapped my arms around her. “How have you been?” “I've been good.” “And trust you had a great time over there?” “Of course I did, mother.” I nodded and quickly made way for her to greet her son too. And she did, although she didn't spend time with him. She pushed him away and came back to me. I knew she was seeing her daughter in me. She sees me as the daughter she never had. And boy, I have no problem with that. After all, I saw her as my mother too. “Tell me everything, my child.” She giggled as she took my hands in hers and led me towards the couch. “How your day went, your honeymoon, the amount of fun you had.” Before I could help it, a deep shade of blush
Melissa's Point Of View “You won't believe what I just heard, my Luna.” Laura whispered as soon as she walked into my room. I'm back at the Pack House. I didn't want to spend any more time at the hospital anymore. I was tired of seeing those boring white walls and the faces of those nurses. I've always hated everything about a hospital after all. Now that we were back to the Pack House, a lot of people had tried to come see me and the new Pack's heir, but I'd pleaded with Axel to keep them away for now. I need to rest for a while at least. After all, it's not easy to push a baby out of your body and still have people flooding in to meet you. It'll be tiring. Plus I don't think I can handle them. “What is it again, Laura?” I rolled my eyes , indirectly letting her know that I wasn't really in the mood for any gossip. Honestly I just want to rest for now. Nothing else, but it seems like fate has other plans, because here Laura was, standing before me, looking like she'd run a th
Axel's Point Of View “What’s wrong with you, Axel?” My wolf inquired as soon as I walked out of my wife's ward. I'd made an excuse some minutes ago, just so I could clear my head. “Why didn't you tell her what the seer said to you, huh?” “Come on, man.” I snorted. “How can I possibly tell her what the seer had said?” “Of course you should.” He snapped. “At least she has a right to know.” “Nah!” I shook my head. “She doesn't. Besides, I'm never gonna tell her about it.” “Are you out of your senses?” My wolf hissed through gritted teeth. “You need to tell her about it, Axel. As the mother of your heir and your Luna, don't you think she has a right to know?” “I won't tell her about it and that's final.” I said in a tone of finality, to let him know that I was done with the conversation. Wouldn't that hurt Melissa? I mean she just pushed out our son and I'm asking her if the boy was really mine? That's crazy. It'll be more like an accusation, like I didn't trust her. She'll defin
Talia's Point Of View “Where the hell have you been, Talia?” Zariel asked as soon as he walked into my house. He's been trying to meet up with me for over five days, to know what I've been up to, but I've always turned him down. I didn't want to stay near him or anyone at all. In fact, I just wanted to be left alone. But he clearly wasn't having it. He had to come to my house today to meet me. “Where else would I be, you fool?” I snorted as I plopped down on my couch. I dragged the duvet over my body to keep myself warm. It's winter and everywhere has been cold. “I've always been in my house.” Thinking about my life but I didn't say the last part out loud. Well, that's actually the truth. I've been thinking about lots of things lately. How to get my life back on track. How to gather the remaining pieces of my life and get it working like never before. I feel like I've wasted my time chasing over things that didn't actually matter. Over Zade, who clearly doesn't feel any shi
Melissa's Point Of View “I asked a question, didn't I?” Axel repeated when he didn't get any response from either of us, as he made his way into the ward. “What are you hiding from me?” Oh goodness! What do I say now? This was actually what Damien was trying to warn me about. He was trying to warn me to be careful with my words. I didn't want to start thinking about what could have happened if Axel had heard the main question that I'd asked Damien a while ago. I'm sure as hell that it wouldn't have ended well. We'd have been in a lot of mess right now. Heck! We'd have been on our way to the dungeon. “Welcome back, my Alpha.” Damien started, but Axel raised his hands, thereby cutting him off. “Save the formalities, Damien. I'm not here for that.” He hissed and Damien clamped his lips shut, like a toddler who was being scolded by his father. “Now tell me, what do I need to know? What the hell are you all hiding from me?” I need to come up with a lie. I can't possibly tell him
Damien's Point Of View “Are you having an affair with my mother?” Melissa asked as soon as I walked into the ward and I took my gaze to her. I was here to see my son, and not because of some stupid questions. But here she was doing the opposite. I haven't had the chance to see my son the moment he came into this world and that was because Axel sent me on a stupid errand back to the Pack House. Imagine being sent on an errand when all I should have been doing was meeting my son. My son. I can't believe that I have a child now. I couldn't wait to meet him. Hence the reason I rushed here. You need to see how I was driving earlier. Like a maniac who was being chased by death itself. And as for Axel, he must be out of his mind for trying to claim my son. I wasn't here to hold Melissa's hands as she brought my child into this world. Someone else did. That was the worst feeling ever. I didn't get to hear my son's first cry. Well, it doesn't matter anymore. I'll be here for him a
