“I reject you as my mate…” Those words were bone-shattering as the excruciating pain ran through my body. I grimaced on the palace floor, yet Damon laughed hysterically as he slumped back to his throne. I sensed he also had the same uncomfortable sensation after his utterance, but he found solace in watching me scream in agony. His guards rushed in with a startled look. On seeing my condition, some had sympathetic looks on their faces. While the remaining warriors like Serena grinned in delight. She was among the wolves in the pack who believed I was unworthy to be their luna. Due to my not having a wolf, and also my frail stature. I clenched my hands as I tried to endure the pain, but I eventually passed out. Later in the night, I woke up with all my clothes soaking wet. I was dumped outside on the palace grounds, drenched in the pouring rain. The sky was pitch black with no stars shining. The rainfall continued pouring heavily. The cold shivering was the first tingling sensation I felt. I looked around, but there was nobody in sight. I managed to barely drag myself to a nearby tree, where I sat till it was over. I gritted my teeth as I couldn’t find any clothes to cover myself. “How unfortunate it must be that no one remembered me even on my birthday,” I mumbled to myself. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I wrapped my hands around my knees to get some warmth. I stayed in that position till it stopped raining. My legs felt numb as I was unable to move. Moments later, I could vaguely hear my name being called. “Aurora, Aurora-” I squinted my eyes to track the caller. Surprisingly, it was my childhood friend Vanessa. She had a plate of food in her hands and a shroud across her shoulders. She kept calling out to me in the darkness, and she still saw me under the tree. “What are you doing here, Aurora? You will catch a cold.” She rushed to me and placed the plate of food on the floor. While she covered me with the shroud. I flinched at her touch, which made her befuddled. “What happened, Aurora? You look like you’re in pain.” She asked in a concerned tone. Tears welled up in my eyes as I relived the entire ordeal with Damon. Her face turned crimson in rage after I finished narrating to her my situation. “Damon is such a ruthless Alpha. Why will he do such a cruel thing to you on your birthday?” Vanessa hissed. However, I curved my lips slightly as a wave of happiness washed over me. “You remembered!” My eyes flickered with joy as I glanced at her. Vanessa’s demeanor softened as she glanced at me. “How will I forget, silly girl. Today is your 18th,” Vanessa playfully pinched my cheeks. I shot a glare at her as she gradually pulled me and took me to her cabin. She also worked in the Alpha’s palace in the kitchen as one of the junior chefs. She sometimes brought leftover meals that were left uneaten for us to share. Tonight, we had a slice of cake that was to be thrown into the trash. We reached her cabin, where I changed into warmer clothing. We both shared the cake and casually teased each other. Moments later, I gazed at her intensely and moved closer to her. “Thanks for remembering my birthday, you’re my only friend in this pack. By the way, how did you find me?” I asked with a puzzled look on my face. She shot a glare at me and gently tugged me. “I heard in the kitchen that you fainted in the throne room. And you were dumped outside the palace walls. So, I had to rush to get you out of the rain.” She replied in a calm tone. I smacked the table and it made a loud sound with startling Vanessa. She quirked her lips, trying to say something, but she later changed her mind. She regained her composure later and continued our discussion. “I heard…there will be a marriage ceremony tomorrow for the Alpha with Ember. I’m so..sorry, Aurora.” Vanessa nervously said. My breath caught in my throat. ‘It’s said when it rains, it pours.’ I mumbled quietly to myself. It felt like this nightmare wasn’t going to end. I forced a smile on my face as we exchanged pleasantries for the night, as she offered a bed to sleep on. I wimped quietly as I cried myself to sleep, with tears soaking my pillow. Eventually, I dozed up for the night. The next day, Vanessa gently tapped me as she was to resume her kitchen duties for the wedding. She left me in the small cabin to hide from the warriors, but I won’t give them that pleasure. “I won't give them that satisfaction.” I thought to myself. I dressed up and went to the sacred ground where the alphas of the pack wed their Luna. It had a serene ambiance with all white themed decoration. I joined the crowd, all smiling and cheering as Damon walked out slowly with Ember dressed in a white gown. It accentuated her figure as they strode, hands held together. The crowd hailed them. However, I cursed at them quietly as I gazed at the couple deeply. This must have triggered Ember as she scanned around the crowd and met my gaze. “Seize her!” Ember uttered as she pointed her fingers in my direction. Suddenly, I was grabbed aggressively by her newly appointed palace guards. They dragged me to both her and Damon's presence in front of the crowd. “By the power bestowed upon me as the Luna by the Alpha, I hereby order your sale to the Silverfang pack as a common breeder,” Ember uttered. The whole crowd went silent in awe. My eyes widened in shock as I glanced at Damon. He remained unfazed as I was dragged away to the palace dungeon in its darkest parts.AuroraCoronation day.The awaited day that was long overdue. I barely slept. Astonished, I woke up to see Darius already awake glancing at me.“What are you doing?” I grumpily asked him, cleaning my eyes to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. “I’m not letting you out of my sight today,” he said with a serious face. I shot a glare at him, not knowing if he was joking or meant it. Although, I understood his concern. Recollecting on how scared he looked when he met me in the cave.I took a weary sigh and held his hand. “I promise no wandering around. You don’t have to follow me around. You also have to get ready, and still handle the affairs of the kingdom. I won't leave Raven’s sight at all times,” I replied with an assuring tone. He gazed at me deeply, with a moody face.“I can't lose you again, Aurora. I don’t think I can handle it,” he said in a coarsed voice. Tears welled in my eyes, as I saw primal fear in his face. It was a look I was privileged to see. Darius was known to never show h
AuroraThe remaining flew by like the speed of light. Darius summoned an emergency council meeting with the elders. With the subject matter of my coronation. I decided not to sit in this encounter, it felt more like Darius had to speak with the elders privately.“I hope he can convince them.” I thought to myself. My wolf made a re-assuring sound to convince Darius would be successful. The recent incident with me, made them a bit more reluctant about agreeing to another so soon. I stood beside Raven, trying to conceal my anxiousness. I put up a forced smile on my face, regardless that she instantly observed the uneasiness in my thoughts.“My Luna, don’t worry. I'm sure Darius will convince the elderly to take the occasion as early as possible. They are also eager to announce their Luna,” she said calmly.A soothing wave of inner peace washed over me. Her words were comforting, even though I shot a dark eye curious how she could read my thoughts.“So, you’re also a mind reader now, yeah
DamonAs I walked back to my vehicle, I couldn’t but help but ponder the moment I saw Aurora in the cave entrance. She looked pale as porcelain, her clothes looked dirty and hagged. Her beautiful eyes all swollen and red. She crawled her way out, and could barely stay up. Her facial expression looked exasperated and exhausted. She’s finding it difficult to stay awake.I was still coming around to the fact that Darius ‘magically’ knew her exact location. It came over him like a wave. We were going back and forth with each other. Suddenly, he stopped abruptly in the middle of the conversion. His attention and focus was totally directed at something else.“Am I such a bore, Darius?” I snapped at him. These statements usually got a rise out of him. However, his face remained unfazed as he was miles away from me. Without saying a word, he limped into a frenzy and set off immediately. His warriors all followed him instantly, without hesitation. My wolf hinted that it might be concerning Au
AuroraRaven’s eyes widened in disbelief. “ I thought I'd lost all his trust. With all the years I’ve known him. He doesn’t give second chances,” she said in a coarse voice.I took a weary sigh, about how myself and Darius grew towards each other. It was easy to forget that we both went through drastic changes and transformations. The fact that these changes happened within these past months only confirms the love and adoration he has for me.Initially, my first impressions of him were cold and almost emotionless. So, it was understandable Raven was utterly shocked by his decision.I snapped back to reality, and gazed at her with a warm smile. “Even me, I used to see him as someone who was ruthless and icy. However, I’ve come to see a warmer and more sensitive side to him. His fate in you never dwindled,” I said in a re-assuring voice.Raven’s facial expression was full of gratitude. “You’re truly his fated Luna, we are so grateful to have you in our pack. You’ve brought calm to the s
Aurora“Seriously?” Darius gasped in awe. I nodded my head with conviction in my eyes. “ Yes… I’m tired of leaving in fear. So many things kept trying to push us apart, but we are still waxing strong. I can’t wait to be your Luna.” My last sentence seemed to have ignited a flare in his eyes that I had never seen before.“Say that again, Aurora,” he brought his face within a breath distance from mine. I gazed into his eyes intensely.“I can’t wait to be your Luna… Alpha Darius.” Those words unlocked a part of him that I never knew. He gently shoved me to a laid-back position on the soft bed.I let out a silent moan, as I gasped in awe at his sudden action. I tried to feign ignorance and to sit upright.“What is it, Darius?” I asked in coy approach. Yet, he appeared almost primal. His eyes were filled with passion and desire. Just gazing into his eyes, sent shivers all over my body. I felt my knees buckled just in his sheer masculinity.“I think you already know…luna,” he said with a sm
Aurora“Hmmm… then show me,” he cooed into my ears. The sensation of his tender bit on my earlobes sent a ravishing sensation down my spine. I closed my eyes, trying to regain my composure, but it seemed futile. All my sense of reasoning seemed not to help me in any way. My wolf simply snoozed off, leaving me in a deep state of ecstasy and helplessness.“ I heard you…telling Cameron to express himself…” I barely managed to muster a few words together. This seemed to have taken Darius by surprise, as he leaned back to glance at me intently.“How did you hear me? We were whispering in very low tones. Not even Tessa could hear our conversation. You’re several feet away from me,” he asked with a stunned look on his face. It gave me a few moments to recollect myself back to reality. I met his gaze without any hesitation.“I dunno, maybe because we have been connected through mindlink. I just started learning it, when channeled properly. I seem to hear you even if we aren't in the same room
