Aurora
“I reject you as my mate…” Those words were bone-shattering as the excruciating pain ran through my body. I grimaced on the palace floor, yet Damon laughed hysterically as he slumped back to his throne. I sensed he also had the same uncomfortable sensation after his utterance, but he found solace in watching me scream in agony. His guards rushed in with a startled look. On seeing my condition, some had sympathetic looks on their faces. While the remaining warriors like Serena grinned in delight. She was among the wolves in the pack who believed I was unworthy to be their luna. Due to my not having a wolf, and also my frail stature. I clenched my hands as I tried to endure the pain, but I eventually passed out. Later in the night, I woke up with all my clothes soaking wet. I was dumped outside on the palace grounds, drenched in the pouring rain. The sky was pitch black with no stars shining. The rainfall continued pouring heavily. The cold shivering was the first tingling sensation I felt. I looked around, but there was nobody in sight. I managed to barely drag myself to a nearby tree, where I sat till it was over. I gritted my teeth as I couldn’t find any clothes to cover myself. “How unfortunate it must be that no one remembered me even on my birthday,” I mumbled to myself. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I wrapped my hands around my knees to get some warmth. I stayed in that position till it stopped raining. My legs felt numb as I was unable to move. Moments later, I could vaguely hear my name being called. “Aurora, Aurora-” I squinted my eyes to track the caller. Surprisingly, it was my childhood friend Vanessa. She had a plate of food in her hands and a shroud across her shoulders. She kept calling out to me in the darkness, and she still saw me under the tree. “What are you doing here, Aurora? You will catch a cold.” She rushed to me and placed the plate of food on the floor. While she covered me with the shroud. I flinched at her touch, which made her befuddled. “What happened, Aurora? You look like you’re in pain.” She asked in a concerned tone. Tears welled up in my eyes as I relived the entire ordeal with Damon. Her face turned crimson in rage after I finished narrating to her my situation. “Damon is such a ruthless Alpha. Why will he do such a cruel thing to you on your birthday?” Vanessa hissed. However, I curved my lips slightly as a wave of happiness washed over me. “You remembered!” My eyes flickered with joy as I glanced at her. Vanessa’s demeanor softened as she glanced at me. “How will I forget, silly girl. Today is your 18th,” Vanessa playfully pinched my cheeks. I shot a glare at her as she gradually pulled me and took me to her cabin. She also worked in the Alpha’s palace in the kitchen as one of the junior chefs. She sometimes brought leftover meals that were left uneaten for us to share. Tonight, we had a slice of cake that was to be thrown into the trash. We reached her cabin, where I changed into warmer clothing. We both shared the cake and casually teased each other. Moments later, I gazed at her intensely and moved closer to her. “Thanks for remembering my birthday, you’re my only friend in this pack. By the way, how did you find me?” I asked with a puzzled look on my face. She shot a glare at me and gently tugged me. “I heard in the kitchen that you fainted in the throne room. And you were dumped outside the palace walls. So, I had to rush to get you out of the rain.” She replied in a calm tone. I smacked the table and it made a loud sound with startling Vanessa. She quirked her lips, trying to say something, but she later changed her mind. She regained her composure later and continued our discussion. “I heard…there will be a marriage ceremony tomorrow for the Alpha with Ember. I’m so..sorry, Aurora.” Vanessa nervously said. My breath caught in my throat. ‘It’s said when it rains, it pours.’ I mumbled quietly to myself. It felt like this nightmare wasn’t going to end. I forced a smile on my face as we exchanged pleasantries for the night, as she offered a bed to sleep on. I wimped quietly as I cried myself to sleep, with tears soaking my pillow. Eventually, I dozed up for the night. The next day, Vanessa gently tapped me as she was to resume her kitchen duties for the wedding. She left me in the small cabin to hide from the warriors, but I won’t give them that pleasure. “I won't give them that satisfaction.” I thought to myself. I dressed up and went to the sacred ground where the alphas of the pack wed their Luna. It had a serene ambiance with all white themed decoration. I joined the crowd, all smiling and cheering as Damon walked out slowly with Ember dressed in a white gown. It accentuated her figure as they strode, hands held together. The crowd hailed them. However, I cursed at them quietly as I gazed at the couple deeply. This must have triggered Ember as she scanned around the crowd and met my gaze. “Seize her!” Ember uttered as she pointed her fingers in my direction. Suddenly, I was grabbed aggressively by her newly appointed palace guards. They dragged me to both her and Damon's presence in front of the crowd. “By the power bestowed upon me as the Luna by the Alpha, I hereby order your sale to the Silverfang pack as a common breeder,” Ember uttered. The whole crowd went silent in awe. My eyes widened in shock as I glanced at Damon. He remained unfazed as I was dragged away to the palace dungeon in its darkest parts.DariusI feel her soft cheeks behind me. Her slender arms wrapped around me like candy. At that point, feeling her plump lips press on my back watered down all the rage and anger I and inside me. It took everything not to respond to her as she called out to me earlier in the corridor. My heart stopped as I heard her trying to control her breathing as she called out to me. My first thought was just to rush and carry her feet off the ground. But, I was so angry at the time that I kept moving forward. Yet, my wolf kept grunting for me to turn back and help me.However, my ego was bruised, so I continued my walk to my chambers.“I hope she follows me.” I mumbled to myself. Finally, I got to my room to change and take a shower. I curved my lips as I could hear her footsteps approaching my room.I removed my top just in time for her to see my body filled with sweat, as I had caught her a few times gashing anytime I take my shirt off. I wanted her to yearn for me as I do for her. When she fi
AuroraAfter storming out of the guest lounge where Damon stayed, I knew I had to clear the situation before wandering tongues get to Darius’s ears. The last thing I want is for him to have a scandal because of me.“I’ll never let that happen,” I told myself. Feeling pumped full of courage, I moved straight to his room. Surprisingly, he wasn’t there. He was known to have a high sense of smell which even woke him up from deep sleep. So when I knocked several times on the door without response, I knew he wasn’t inside.“Where will he be this early in the morning?” I thought to myself. I took a deep sigh as I searched around the palace.Eventually, I sighted his muscular figure as he was doing some aerobics with Raven in the gym room. My heartbeat paced quickly, I wiped sweat beaded on my forehead. A wave of anxiety washed over me. Even after seeing him several times, I still skipped a beat watching him in his element. He always looked so strong with a commanding figure. His biceps flexe
EmberSeveral days have passed since Damon's unscheduled trip to the Silver Fangs territory. I spent those lonely nights wondering why the sudden need to go there unannounced. With the tension along the borders caused by the straining warriors, panic was at an all-time high.“Maybe as part of his role as alpha, he wants to defuse the situation.” I thought to myself. A wave of calmness washed over me, yet somewhere deep down my gut feelings had other ideas.I shook my head aggressively to shake out the negative thoughts. Suddenly, a patrol team warrior rushed into the palace, he was stopped at the entrance by some of my strong-looking guards.Eventually, after confirming his rank. He was allowed to pass through. “Greetings Luna, I’m Jacob, a warrior from the border. I glad to inform that the alpha has crossed back to our territory and will be home by nightfall.” he said respectfully.Immediately, my eyes lit up with a flicker of joy. I stood up in a joyful mood with a broad smile on my
DamonThe day started off really cheerful and pleasant. I woke up from a sweet dream of running in the woods with Aurora and her hair bouncing off her shoulders as we got deeper and deeper. It was only until the beautiful chippings of birds close by that I sluggishly opened my eyes. I sat upright on my bed for a long period of time before I finally got out. I reached the door and was met by Natasha patiently waiting behind it.“Good morning my Alpha, I didn’t want to wake you, but it's almost midday. If we are to make-up time on our journey back home. We have to set off soon…” She nervously said while averting my gaze.I could sense some uncomfortable tension from her. Preferably because of the incident with Aurora the other night. Yet, I remained unfazed and feigned ignorance.“Let’s wait a lil’ bit longer, I’m expecting one more passenger,” I replied with a cheeky smile on my face.“There’s no way he’ll want her after what happened…” I thought to myself. A sense of accomplishment wa
DariusThe night felt bland and dry. After the rainfall, the entire palace was silent. Not even the sounds of squeaky rats were heard. The aura felt off, like we were all in mourning. I tried to eat the lavish delicacies and assorted food and drinks displayed on the dining table, but nothing seemed to go down.“Take this away.” I ordered the maids to return them to the kitchen. Their eyes widened in shock as I was known not to play around with food. Yet, they could not muster a word out of their mouths as they carried the trays and nodded away in respect.I noticed an exquisite bottle of wine placed beside me along with the dishes. I quickly held it before it was taken out. After opening the top and gulping down many glasses of wine, I finally had enough and headed back to my chambers. My personal guards tried to assist me, but I gently shoved them away. “I’m fine, I can walk myself.” I calmly replied.Yet, I knew I wasn’t fine. A wave of anger washed over me. Trying to drink to numb
AuroraThe sky was pitch black with only lightning flashes through it. It carried thunderous sounds as if it cried with me. It rained vigorously, my feet mounted on the ground unwillingly to move.I froze after the encounter with Darius earlier, there was something different about the way he gazed at me. His dark eyes were deep without any form of emotion. Only anger and disgust. It sent shivers down my spine. The gut punch really took me aback." Is this really the end between us? Just as things were about to take off,” I mumbled to myself.“No!” I shook my head aggressively. I could not allow Damon to control my fate anymore. There was only one way to settle this once and for all. Finally, I found the power to move my feet. Though, I was shivering with a cold. My entire body was trembling, yet the unquenchable anger in my heart gave me all the courage to face my worst nightmare.Heading towards the guest lounge, I clenched my fists with only one goal in mind. Reaching the entrance,
