“I reject you as my mate…” Those words were bone-shattering as the excruciating pain ran through my body. I grimaced on the palace floor, yet Damon laughed hysterically as he slumped back to his throne. I sensed he also had the same uncomfortable sensation after his utterance, but he found solace in watching me scream in agony. His guards rushed in with a startled look. On seeing my condition, some had sympathetic looks on their faces. While the remaining warriors like Serena grinned in delight. She was among the wolves in the pack who believed I was unworthy to be their luna. Due to my not having a wolf, and also my frail stature. I clenched my hands as I tried to endure the pain, but I eventually passed out. Later in the night, I woke up with all my clothes soaking wet. I was dumped outside on the palace grounds, drenched in the pouring rain. The sky was pitch black with no stars shining. The rainfall continued pouring heavily. The cold shivering was the first tingling sensation I felt. I looked around, but there was nobody in sight. I managed to barely drag myself to a nearby tree, where I sat till it was over. I gritted my teeth as I couldn’t find any clothes to cover myself. “How unfortunate it must be that no one remembered me even on my birthday,” I mumbled to myself. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I wrapped my hands around my knees to get some warmth. I stayed in that position till it stopped raining. My legs felt numb as I was unable to move. Moments later, I could vaguely hear my name being called. “Aurora, Aurora-” I squinted my eyes to track the caller. Surprisingly, it was my childhood friend Vanessa. She had a plate of food in her hands and a shroud across her shoulders. She kept calling out to me in the darkness, and she still saw me under the tree. “What are you doing here, Aurora? You will catch a cold.” She rushed to me and placed the plate of food on the floor. While she covered me with the shroud. I flinched at her touch, which made her befuddled. “What happened, Aurora? You look like you’re in pain.” She asked in a concerned tone. Tears welled up in my eyes as I relived the entire ordeal with Damon. Her face turned crimson in rage after I finished narrating to her my situation. “Damon is such a ruthless Alpha. Why will he do such a cruel thing to you on your birthday?” Vanessa hissed. However, I curved my lips slightly as a wave of happiness washed over me. “You remembered!” My eyes flickered with joy as I glanced at her. Vanessa’s demeanor softened as she glanced at me. “How will I forget, silly girl. Today is your 18th,” Vanessa playfully pinched my cheeks. I shot a glare at her as she gradually pulled me and took me to her cabin. She also worked in the Alpha’s palace in the kitchen as one of the junior chefs. She sometimes brought leftover meals that were left uneaten for us to share. Tonight, we had a slice of cake that was to be thrown into the trash. We reached her cabin, where I changed into warmer clothing. We both shared the cake and casually teased each other. Moments later, I gazed at her intensely and moved closer to her. “Thanks for remembering my birthday, you’re my only friend in this pack. By the way, how did you find me?” I asked with a puzzled look on my face. She shot a glare at me and gently tugged me. “I heard in the kitchen that you fainted in the throne room. And you were dumped outside the palace walls. So, I had to rush to get you out of the rain.” She replied in a calm tone. I smacked the table and it made a loud sound with startling Vanessa. She quirked her lips, trying to say something, but she later changed her mind. She regained her composure later and continued our discussion. “I heard…there will be a marriage ceremony tomorrow for the Alpha with Ember. I’m so..sorry, Aurora.” Vanessa nervously said. My breath caught in my throat. ‘It’s said when it rains, it pours.’ I mumbled quietly to myself. It felt like this nightmare wasn’t going to end. I forced a smile on my face as we exchanged pleasantries for the night, as she offered a bed to sleep on. I wimped quietly as I cried myself to sleep, with tears soaking my pillow. Eventually, I dozed up for the night. The next day, Vanessa gently tapped me as she was to resume her kitchen duties for the wedding. She left me in the small cabin to hide from the warriors, but I won’t give them that pleasure. “I won't give them that satisfaction.” I thought to myself. I dressed up and went to the sacred ground where the alphas of the pack wed their Luna. It had a serene ambiance with all white themed decoration. I joined the crowd, all smiling and cheering as Damon walked out slowly with Ember dressed in a white gown. It accentuated her figure as they strode, hands held together. The crowd hailed them. However, I cursed at them quietly as I gazed at the couple deeply. This must have triggered Ember as she scanned around the crowd and met my gaze. “Seize her!” Ember uttered as she pointed her fingers in my direction. Suddenly, I was grabbed aggressively by her newly appointed palace guards. They dragged me to both her and Damon's presence in front of the crowd. “By the power bestowed upon me as the Luna by the Alpha, I hereby order your sale to the Silverfang pack as a common breeder,” Ember uttered. The whole crowd went silent in awe. My eyes widened in shock as I glanced at Damon. He remained unfazed as I was dragged away to the palace dungeon in its darkest parts.AuroraFor many years, I lived with a void in my heart. A space in my chest, not being able to find a place I truly belong. My best friend tried to help out, but she also was quite limited and in most ways similar to my upbringing. Growing up in the hands of palace maids and chefs who took delight in making our lives miserable.Regardless, there was this tiny voice in my head. That kept telling me to push on and don’t give up. To think my solace was becoming Damon’s Luna, would have been the worst nightmare for me, after finding out how he was involved in the cruel treatment of my parents.“Life works in mysterious ways.” I thought to myself. Realizing that my sale to Darius as his ‘breeder’ was something that took the lowest form of dismay. Was actually the most fortunate thing that happened to me.It was from this, that I finally found people who would become my long-lost family. Also, through my self-growth and discovery. I became the long-awaited white Luna. A mythical wolf who ha
DariusMy wolf was grunting, wanting to transform. Luckily, her wound healed quickly. But, I was about to chase down the rogue who scratched her. Preparing to take off, she gently held my forearm.“Pls don’t, Darius. I’m fine. I am just a bit tired. Let’s go home. We have a lot of work to be done,” she softly said. I took a deep sigh as I took a step back. My warriors had already taken care of the remaining rogues. So, we were not in any imminent situation. I gestured to proceed with our journey.“Let’s get out of here as soon as possible!” I yelled out. Immediately, they all moved into position as we headed out. I signaled the driver to make haste as we all entered our various vehicles. Aurora laid down calmly on my thighs, she quietly dozed off as I straightened her long flowing hair. A wave of anxiety washed over me.“I hope she’s alright?” I pondered to myself. My wolf whimpered, also bothered by her dwindling energy. I snapped back to reality. I knew the last thing she would want
DamonMy jaws dropped to the floor. I could hear lightning sounds all around. My eyes widened in awe. This man had a slightly built, clean, shaved face. No way to believe he was the man who instilled this much tension in Mr. Rivers’s household. Their family legacy was all known. Yet, it meant little or nothing to this person sitting right in front of me.“Are you the man who was seen in the Rivers’ mansion?” I rhetorically asked. He simply scuffed and curved his lips to reveal a smirk on his face.“I dunno what has been said about me. But, I can only say both myself and William have similar and aligned interests,” Mr. X responded. Sweat beaded on my forehead. “Did he just say William?” it took a few seconds to realize he was referring to Ember’s father. Mr. Rivers. That was a name only a few privileged people knew about. However, I sat across someone who barely flinched, dropping that name. I took a deep sigh, before meeting his gaze.“What can I do for you? I’m sure you have a tight
Aurora“Maria.”That was my mother’s name. A name that immediately called out to me. A familiar and friendly feeling was attached to it. Like I always knew about it. Suddenly, it dawned on me that when Marcus mentioned that name, my wolf became very quiet.Even before I had my transformation. My dreams felt too real and vivid. There was something about the wolf and when she stared at me, it felt comforting and made me forget whatever uncertainty and anxiety. Not at any moment, that I felt it would turn cold towards me.There was always a drawing energy towards her, it felt almost…maternal. “Maria…mother, is that you?” I asked my wolf. She remained silent, which only fueled my suspicion.“I guessed as much, that was why I am always safe around you. That’s why you appeared as my wolf. To stay close to me. You don’t have to hide yourself from me, Mother.” My heartfelt lighter, instantaneously. It was the first word. I used that endearing term ‘mother’. A wave of joy washed all over me. T
DamonI sneered at her, and she stood in front of me. Previously, even though I used to be mesmerized by her magnetic beauty and crystal-clear skin. Her radiance used to glow all around. My heart never belonged to her. This was a resolution I had known for a while. Yet, I always had a soft spot for her. However, looking at her now. I felt nothing but dismay and regret.“What do you mean by you know a secret of mine?” I snapped. She had a smirk on her face, with a cheeky smile. That sinister look, sent shivers through my spine. Still, I managed to remain unfazed and unbothered.“You think you’re slick, right? You know exactly what I mean. Now, you want to be her knight in shining armor. I wonder how she’ll feel when she finds out the whole truth about you. I don’t think she will be able to forgive you,” her words caught deep. I clenched my hands, and casually stepped towards her. She was taken aback, but immediately regained herself as soon as the bodyguards marched towards the door.“
Marcus“My father? What do you know about him, Marcus?” Aurora’s face turned serious. I felt a lump in my throat, I felt all the stares all focused on me. I felt a wave of anxiety wash over me. This was a well-kept secret, as I never imagined anything would move me to reveal something so significant that could change the lives of the parties concerned. However, from the befuddled facial expression of Aurora. I knew I owed her, the truth of her family heritage. Regardless of the outcome of this revelation. On behalf of her mother, she deserves every right to know.I took a deep sigh before proceeding with the important conversation that everyone was pining to hear.“Firstly, I feel the need to start from the beginning. Your mother’s name was Maria. She was initially the Luna of Silverfang pack. She eventually left, when there were failed attempts by her family to oust her from the throne. Trying to keep the peace and sanity of her pack. She came to my pack to hide. It was during this t
