Darius

I woke up in a panic state, glistening with sweat on my forehead. I let out a deep sigh as I wiped it off. “It was just a bad dream,” I mumbled quietly to myself. I sometimes have dreams that feel so real, like a distant memory. It was a dream about a young pup, presumably me, being chased in the woods. I always woke up just when the people chasing me were very close. Their faces were blurry, but I could sense their anger and hatred.

I let out a weary sigh. The air seemed thicker and colder than usual, which sent chills all over my spine. All the hair on my skin stood up, there was just a gut feeling that something huge was going to happen today.

My wolf growled restlessly, sensing the unease in my heart. I gently placed my hands on my chest to calm down. I took a deep sigh and headed out to the general hall. I preferred staying there to listen to the complaints and challenges of my pack.

It was a large hall filled with pictures of former alphas all dressed in ceremonial attire. My throne was placed a few steps higher than the floor for all to see. It was adorned with opulent decorations that made it look regal and presidential

I sat on my throne seat as my Beta Cameron, alongside my bodyguards, slightly bowed to me respectfully. I nodded in approval after sitting down. Instinctively, from the facial expression of Cameron, I sensed he had unpleasant news. He was always hesitant to deliver such news, not to upset my mood.

“What is it, Cameron?” I quietly grunted, my wolf growled in anticipation of the unexpected information.

“My apologies, my Alpha, I just received an invitation to Alpha Damon of Moonfall pack’s wedding.” He said in a hoarse voice. My wolf grunted viciously at the mention of the name ‘Damon.’ I bit my lips just to calm it down, and Damon have been rivals for many years. He tried numerous times to overthrow me and claim my pack, but all his attempts were unsuccessful. Eventually, we formed a truce. But Damon is famously known to be a conniving, back-stabbing alpha who can’t be trusted.

Naturally, any news from him is seen as a setup or another strategic move against my pack. “What if I reject the invitation?” I snapped. My wolf growled for us to attack him, but I managed to retain control.

“My Alpha, I think that will be seen as an open declaration of war. I humbly suggest we accept it to keep the truce,” Cameron replied in a respectable tone. Logically, I knew he was correct, however, my wolf wanted to tear Damon limb from limb. Eventually, logic reasoning won, and I decided to go to the wedding.

“Ahem..speaking of wedding-” He averted my gaze with a cheeky smile on his face. “You sneaky wolf.” I thought to myself. I knew exactly what he was referring to. It was customary when becoming an Alpha to mate and choose my Luna. Yet, I remained adamant in finding the ‘right soulmate’ which exasperated the whole pack.

“I will choose my mate only when I’m ready.” I shot a glare at him. He coughed mischievously to clear his throat. I calmly dismissed everyone in the hall as I pondered what surprises Damon had in store for me.

On the appointed day of the wedding, I travelled with my Cameron and a few of my personal warriors to the borders of the Moonfall pack, the wolves that stood guard watching it were already informed of our visit. Yet, there was still tension as we walked passed them.

“Welcome, Alpha Darius of the Silverfang pack. We’ve been ordered to escort you and your men directly to the palace. For your…safety.” One of the border warriors curved his lips slightly as he bowed. A lump was stuck in my throat. My wolf snarled aggressively at that statement. I clenched my fists till blood came out. It seemed to calm my wolf as I signaled my subjects to stand down.

We continued the journey through the Moonfall lands in a cautious manner. The rest of the trip was awkward as everyone stayed alert, as I couldn’t shake off the malicious intent in the eyes of our escorts.

Along the way, my wolf became restless and growled aggressively. My forehead was beaded.

With sweat. My heart started beating quickly. I tried to calm my wolf, but it continued growling. At that moment, I knew exactly what this new sensation was. My mate is on this land. A wave of hope washed over me as we approached Damon’s palace.

We arrived at his castle when the full moon was clearly visible in the sky, illuminating the exquisite wedding decorations and floral adornments spread all over the place. It was aesthetically pleasing as we were ushered in respectfully inside.  The throne room was massive, filled with Damon’s personal bodyguards positioned tactfully. Most of them were involved in the battles between our packs, so the atmosphere was tense as we walked through.

We finally reached the stairs of his throne. He had a smirk on his face as he approached me.

“Thank you for accepting my invitation, my fellow alpha.” Damon twisted his lips slightly. I nodded in approval as we shook hands together. By his side, I saw a young lady dressed in a ceremonial white gown with their pack’s sigma stylishly printed on it. The gown accentuated her figure. Her blonde hair flowed naturally on her shoulders, revealing her swan-like neck. From her appearance, I sensed she was the new Luna. I slightly tilted my head as a sign of respect to her. She respectfully nodded back.

“It’s my pleasure, Alpha Damon.” I forced a smile on my face, I sensed the fighting spirit of his wolf as it clashed with mine in aura. Yet, we both managed to restrain ourselves from lunging at one another. After exchanging pleasantries, he signaled his warriors to bring in something.

“I have a present for you-” He pointed his hands in the direction of his favorite warrior, Serena. She had in her claws a young, petite girl who wore outdated clothes, looking shabby and unkept. Suddenly, the frantic reaction of my wolf earlier on our way to the palace returned. That’s when I realized, to my surprise, this is a mate.

AuroraI felt a huge lump in my throat, my body froze. This was the first time that I truly saw myself as more than just a weak omega. But, more of a fierce she-wolf about to become the strongest Luna.“I can’t believe this is me,” I mumbled to myself. A wave of anxiety washed over me. This day was the day that I waited for my whole life was finally here. A day I dreamt of a thousand times. Yet, I couldn’t help but feel some element of hesistance.“What if I’m not good enough?” I asked myself quietly. Stylishly, I noticed the unease in the faces of Kate, the wedding planner, and her assistant as they stared at me with curiosity.“You’ve nothing to be scared of. Little Luna.” My wolf encouraged me. The softness and calmness in her assurance brought some relief to my heart.I curved my lips slightly to reveal a grin on my face. There was a relief that spread around the room. Kate took a deep sigh, and revealed a huge smile on her face.“I’ve never seen a more worthy Luna…” she said as s

AuroraCoronation day.The awaited day that was long overdue. I barely slept. Astonished, I woke up to see Darius already awake glancing at me.“What are you doing?” I grumpily asked him, cleaning my eyes to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. “I’m not letting you out of my sight today,” he said with a serious face. I shot a glare at him, not knowing if he was joking or meant it. Although, I understood his concern. Recollecting on how scared he looked when he met me in the cave.I took a weary sigh and held his hand. “I promise no wandering around. You don’t have to follow me around. You also have to get ready, and still handle the affairs of the kingdom. I won't leave Raven’s sight at all times,” I replied with an assuring tone. He gazed at me deeply, with a moody face.“I can't lose you again, Aurora. I don’t think I can handle it,” he said in a coarsed voice. Tears welled in my eyes, as I saw primal fear in his face. It was a look I was privileged to see. Darius was known to never show h

AuroraThe remaining flew by like the speed of light. Darius summoned an emergency council meeting with the elders. With the subject matter of my coronation. I decided not to sit in this encounter, it felt more like Darius had to speak with the elders privately.“I hope he can convince them.” I thought to myself. My wolf made a re-assuring sound to convince Darius would be successful. The recent incident with me, made them a bit more reluctant about agreeing to another so soon. I stood beside Raven, trying to conceal my anxiousness. I put up a forced smile on my face, regardless that she instantly observed the uneasiness in my thoughts.“My Luna, don’t worry. I'm sure Darius will convince the elderly to take the occasion as early as possible. They are also eager to announce their Luna,” she said calmly.A soothing wave of inner peace washed over me. Her words were comforting, even though I shot a dark eye curious how she could read my thoughts.“So, you’re also a mind reader now, yeah

DamonAs I walked back to my vehicle, I couldn’t but help but ponder the moment I saw Aurora in the cave entrance. She looked pale as porcelain, her clothes looked dirty and hagged. Her beautiful eyes all swollen and red. She crawled her way out, and could barely stay up. Her facial expression looked exasperated and exhausted. She’s finding it difficult to stay awake.I was still coming around to the fact that Darius ‘magically’ knew her exact location. It came over him like a wave. We were going back and forth with each other. Suddenly, he stopped abruptly in the middle of the conversion. His attention and focus was totally directed at something else.“Am I such a bore, Darius?” I snapped at him. These statements usually got a rise out of him. However, his face remained unfazed as he was miles away from me. Without saying a word, he limped into a frenzy and set off immediately. His warriors all followed him instantly, without hesitation. My wolf hinted that it might be concerning Au

AuroraRaven’s eyes widened in disbelief. “ I thought I'd lost all his trust. With all the years I’ve known him. He doesn’t give second chances,” she said in a coarse voice.I took a weary sigh, about how myself and Darius grew towards each other. It was easy to forget that we both went through drastic changes and transformations. The fact that these changes happened within these past months only confirms the love and adoration he has for me.Initially, my first impressions of him were cold and almost emotionless. So, it was understandable Raven was utterly shocked by his decision.I snapped back to reality, and gazed at her with a warm smile. “Even me, I used to see him as someone who was ruthless and icy. However, I’ve come to see a warmer and more sensitive side to him. His fate in you never dwindled,” I said in a re-assuring voice.Raven’s facial expression was full of gratitude. “You’re truly his fated Luna, we are so grateful to have you in our pack. You’ve brought calm to the s

Aurora“Seriously?” Darius gasped in awe. I nodded my head with conviction in my eyes. “ Yes… I’m tired of leaving in fear. So many things kept trying to push us apart, but we are still waxing strong. I can’t wait to be your Luna.” My last sentence seemed to have ignited a flare in his eyes that I had never seen before.“Say that again, Aurora,” he brought his face within a breath distance from mine. I gazed into his eyes intensely.“I can’t wait to be your Luna… Alpha Darius.” Those words unlocked a part of him that I never knew. He gently shoved me to a laid-back position on the soft bed.I let out a silent moan, as I gasped in awe at his sudden action. I tried to feign ignorance and to sit upright.“What is it, Darius?” I asked in coy approach. Yet, he appeared almost primal. His eyes were filled with passion and desire. Just gazing into his eyes, sent shivers all over my body. I felt my knees buckled just in his sheer masculinity.“I think you already know…luna,” he said with a sm
