"I thought I told you to stay in the room, bitch?!" Gabriel growled at me, throwing me into the room. My head slammed against the bed frame.

"Alpha, I'm sorry, I was just talking to Raven," I said, rubbing my forehead, which was starting to bleed.

"I don’t give a fuck what you were doing. You stay in this room and please me, bitch," he slurred.

His eyes were bloodshot and droopy, so I knew he must have been drinking a lot. It takes a strong alcohol to get a werewolf drunk.

I nodded quickly and inched away from him.

"Come here, Anais. I'm not gonna hurt you," Gabriel mumbled, his eyelids drooping.

"I'm lying. I'm totally gonna beat the shit out of you," he giggled, swaying on his feet.

He wobbled over to me, but as his eyelids closed, so did he. He collapsed forward onto the bed, unconscious. I sighed with relief, knowing I wasn’t going to get beaten tonight.

I took off his shoes and placed a blanket over him so he wouldn’t wake up angry. I quietly closed the bedroom door and bolted do

I ran in a circle to make sure they wouldn't follow my scent. Once I was certain they wouldn’t be able to track me down, I shifted into my human form and quickly got dressed. Grabbing my backpack, I climbed up a tree.Soon, I saw a group of wolves running after me, tracking my scent."How long are you going to keep running?"I rolled my eyes. My wolf spirit and I had had this argument so many times that it was starting to get old. Ignoring her, I rested against the tree, watching as the wolves ran around, trying to follow my trail.I was a rogue, and packs considered rogues a threat, so they hunted them down. I had been a rogue for years, ever since I ran away from home after my parents’ deaths. All I ever knew was how to take care of myself—forced to rely on my own instincts and independence. Now, I was used to this life, constantly moving. The idea of pack life bored me, and I had no interest in it.It had taken me a long time to convince my wolf of this. One thing we always disagre

My wolf was absolutely exhilarated to have finally met our soul mate. A part of me was relieved and even excited, but another part wasn’t ready to give up my life of freedom and independence for a mate—especially not an Alpha.Alphas were notorious for being extremely territorial and controlling of their mates. Some people dreamed of having an Alpha mate, but I was not one of them.“NOOO!!” I screamed, shifting instantly.I didn’t care that I had just shredded my clothes—all that mattered was escaping this nightmare. Before my mother died, she always told me I was different, special compared to other wolves. One reason was that I had Alpha blood, which made my wolf twice the size of the average wolf. The other reason… She never really told me.I aggressively shoved a wolf that happened to be in my way and darted away from the group. As I ran, all I could hear was the whimpering and whining of my wolf, begging me to go back—to not run away from our mate, to accept him. But I couldn’t

I charged at the man trying to hold me hostage, tackling him to the ground. My enormous body weight pinned him down, restricting his movements and keeping him from attacking me. He raised his arms to shield his face, but I could see the fear clouding his hazel eyes. Then, I felt a warm hand comb through my fur, sending shivers of delight through my body.I had always imagined that a mate’s touch would be electrifying, almost magical. This wasn’t quite that, but it still felt… nice.A soft whimper escaped me as his hand traveled up to my ear. He gently tugged on it, leaning closer, his breath stirring the fur around it."Could you please shift for me, love?" he whispered.Something inside me snapped.I didn’t want him calling me love. I didn’t want to be his. I wanted to be my own person, free and untethered.Yet deep down, beneath all the resistance, I knew the truth—I did want to be loved. And that terrified me.I wanted the love and affection that had been stolen from me when my par

Damien's POV The moment I stepped out of the room I instantly regretted my words. She didn't seem dangerous at all in my eyes, she was powerful indeed but she was also just scared, who knows how long shes been alone as a rogue and I was trying to force the pack life onto her. The moment I laid eyes on her I knew she was the one for me. She had beautiful long jet black hair with a unique white streak that seemed slightly unkempt and unbrushed from her days of being in the forest alone. Despite her dirty face you could see the slightly faded freckles along her nose and cheeks, some plastered up her nose bridge and onto her forehead. Thought she seemed a little malnourished and wore loose fitted clothes you could still make out the accentuated curves of her body. Her eyes were what stood out to me were her big and round bright green eyes. Despite her cold attitude her eyes told a different story, they said that she was actually a sweet person who was just scared and used to

"Yes, he's the Alpha of the pack. By the way, I don’t want to sound rude, but is there a reason Damien is keeping you in the packhouse?" Danielle asked, eyeing me curiously."Normally, he doesn’t let rogues set foot near the territory—he just kills them on sight. You must be important." She studied me carefully.I shifted uncomfortably, avoiding her gaze. I wasn’t ready to admit to her—or anyone—that Damien was my mate. But it was as if she could read me like a book because the next second, she let out a high-pitched squeal, practically jumping up and down in excitement."Oh my gosh! You must be his mate! Damien has finally found his mate!" She continued squealing, clapping her hands.I merely nodded, unwilling to comment further."What’s your name?""Iris."Danielle’s blue eyes sparkled as she smiled. "Aww, Damien and Iris. I can see it now," she giggled."I see you’ve already met her and started harassing her," Damien’s deep voice rumbled from the doorway. He chuckled, his broad sho

Damien decided to move me back into his room after quickly getting the door fixed. We sat in silence—me on the floor, him on the bed—where he continued to stare at me.I had nothing to say to him. I didn’t have anything to say to anyone. After being alone for so long, with only my wolf as company, I had forgotten what it was like to interact with others who weren’t trying to kill me."Is there nothing you want to say to me?" he finally asked."No. I want to leave. Now," I replied harshly."There’s something I’d like to say to you," he said.I rolled my eyes. "I don’t care what comes out of your mouth, honestly."When I looked up, I caught him staring—intensely, unblinking. Heat burned in his gaze, his eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that made my breath hitch. A strange warmth crept up my face. Embarrassed, I quickly looked away, breaking eye contact."Your face says otherwise, Iris." My name rolled off his tongue smoothly, sending an uninvited shiver down my spine.I scowled.

"You heard me," he chuckled.I stood up from the ground so that we were face to face, though he still slightly towered over me due to our height difference."What do you mean it's too late?" I pressed, narrowing my eyes.He lifted his hand to my cheek, gently caressing it. His slightly rough skin against my face was surprisingly pleasant, calming my senses. His scent wrapped around me, melting into his touch, making me momentarily forget my worries."I'm already attached to you. I barely know anything about you, yet I never want you to leave my side. If you were to go, my wolf and I would be shattered." His voice was low and sincere. "The moment I laid eyes on your wolf, I knew you were different—that you had to be mine. If only we had met under different circumstances."I felt myself leaning closer and closer until my entire body pressed up against his. His hands traveled down to my lower back, resting there without moving further. We stood like that—two complete strangers, engrossed

My wolf spirit and I often fought about one thing—what would happen if we ever found our mate. But it was never about independence or freedom. Now that we had found Damien, it was like she was ready to forget all of that, to assume the role of Luna just because he was an Alpha. I had always assumed my mate would be a rogue like me, that we could go off together, free and independent. But now that she had connected with Damien, she never wanted to leave his side. The fact that a single touch from him could make me melt or that his scent could instantly calm my senses angered me. The way my body reacted to him felt like second nature, like we belonged together—and it disgusted me. Like I had no choice in the matter. I didn’t want the responsibility of an entire pack on my shoulders. I didn’t want someone ordering me around. I finished my shower and stepped out, grabbing a towel to dry myself off. When I glanced back into the mirror, I smiled. It had been a while since I’d seen a cl

Living here has been hell. The only person I’ve been able to talk to is Gabriella, but she’s been drowning in grief since the Beta’s death. I stay in her room most of the time, but occasionally, Gabriel comes in, drags me out, does what he wants with me, and then beats me for no reason.I found out that his father didn’t believe he was fit to be Alpha—said he was too cold and ruthless. Gabriel didn’t take the rejection well. He killed both of his parents to claim the title. If I had known this would be my future, I would’ve stayed in my old pack.Lately, I’ve been thinking about Xavier. And every time I do, my wolf howls in pain and retreats deep within my mind. I thought having a wolf would make me stronger, but being away from Xavier and enduring daily abuse is slowly breaking me.I’ve grown thinner, with dark bags under my eyes becoming more prominent by the day."Felicity?" I heard Gabriella’s voice outside Gabriel’s room.I was curled up naked in his bed, crying my eyes out.The

"GET THE HELL OFF ME!" a scream echoed from outside.Alpha Gabriel grew tired of my struggling, so he grabbed my arm and leaned close."If you don’t stop, I’ll rip out every last hair follicle from your head," he threatened.I whimpered and stopped resisting. As we stepped outside, I saw Raven and a man being held down by several pack members. Raven's face was bruised and bloodied, while blood poured from the man's mouth."Please, just let us go. We won’t be a bother," Raven pleaded. Her eyes flicked toward us. When she saw my appearance, her glare turned into something softer—pity."Raven, I thought I told you you’re not allowed to see him anymore," Gabriel growled."We were leaving so you’d never have to deal with us again," she replied calmly. He walked up and slapped her hard across the face."Gabriel, stop! I’m the one who convinced her to run away with me!" the man spat out.Gabriel turned to him with a deadly look."My own Beta… disobeyed me." He grabbed the man's face and forc

"So we're currently in the pack house. This is where the Alpha, mateless wolves, and some others live," Raven explained as she walked down the hallway, blowing cigarette smoke around us.As she spoke, I noticed a fresh-looking gash on her hip."What happened to your hip?" I asked quietly. She froze in place and slowly turned to glare at me. But then, unexpectedly, the glare shifted into a smile, which only confused me more."Something tells me you'll find out what happens around here soon enough," she said, taking a long drag from her cigarette.Just then, her phone rang. She reached into her back pocket and answered."Hello?... Hey... Nothing, why? Are you okay? If he finds out, we're both dead. Yeah, I guess so. Love you too, babe. Bye."She hung up and slid the phone back into her pocket."Come on, you gotta go back to the Alpha's bedroom," she said, grabbing my hand and guiding me back to the room where I’d first woken up.I couldn’t stop wondering—who had she been talking to? I stretched my arms into the air, reaching out to grasp my silk covers.Wait... I don’t even have covers. My eyes shot open, and I bolted upright in bed. I looked down at what I was lying on—a grand bed draped in red satin sheets. I scanned the room around me, trying to make sense of where I was.It was large, yet strangely empty. Across the room stood a tall dresser with a mirror fixed to the front.I glanced at my reflection. My hair was matted to my head, my blue eyes were bloodshot, bruises lined my arms, and my face was streaked with dried tears. I was wearing only a shirt that reached down to my knees.Whose shirt was this?My eyes widened, and I curled into a ball.I wasn’t wearing any underwear. What happened? You shifted—but without our mate, a voice whimpered in my head.Who are you? I asked.I am Raven, your wolf, she replied.Just then, the door opened, and my eyes snapped to it. A man stepped inside. He had faded blond hair and dark brown eyes—so dark they looked almost b

Have you ever fallen for someone you never thought you would? Like someone was playing with your emotions, and you didn’t know what to do anymore? That’s exactly how I felt in this moment.I watched as a smile crept onto his face. I felt a wave of relief—maybe he would accept me. But I was wrong. His smile quickly faded into a deep frown, his expression twisting with anger. I felt like crying. I shoved my way through the crowd, trying to get far away from him as tears filled my eyes.I stumbled into the hallway and leaned against the wall, gasping for breath, trying to make sense of what had just happened.I had found my mate—but he was my dead boyfriend’s twin brother: the future Alpha who hated me for something I didn’t even do.Suddenly, I heard a growl behind me, and I was roughly shoved against the wall.I found myself face to face with Xavier. His eyes were black, and I couldn’t tell if it was from rage or something else entirely.“Anais,” he growled into my face. Our faces were

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me.Happy birthday dear Anais, happy birthday to me.I was in the kitchen preparing food for the party tonight, quietly singing to myself."Happy birthday, Daniel," I whispered, a silent tear sliding down my cheek.Xavier, Daniel, and I always celebrated our birthdays together—since they were on the same day. We used to be inseparable, like triplets. Now Xavier is a lone wolf, and I’m the disgrace of the pack.“Hurry up, bitch. My baby deserves the best, even if it's coming from you,” my cousin snapped, smacking me on the back of the head.Xavier had been dating my cousin ever since Daniel died. We used to laugh at girls like her—fake and shallow. But ever since he started seeing her, she’s made my life hell.I’m ashamed to admit I’ve gotten used to it. The first few months, I cried myself to sleep, collapsing in uncontrollable sobs, which only led to more beatings. But the worst pain was never physical. It was hearing the whispers, the accusati
