CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE

As they broke off their heated moment of passion, Morris gave room for Emma to go change into something comfy. They spent the rest of the day, playing card games and getting to know themselves.

When night came, Morris took the room he slept in the previous night, while Emma got the comfy bedroom. It was a dilemma of fighting to stay apart even though they desperately wanted the comfort of each other.

Emma woke up in the middle of the night, her body drenched in sweat. She had been dreaming about her parents' murder again. It was a recurring nightmare that had haunted her for years, but this time it was different.

In the dream, she saw herself being killed as well. It was a horrific image, and it had left her trembling and scared.

She sat up in bed, trying to calm herself down. She prayed that she hadn't been screaming and thrashing as always, as it would wake Morris up. She took deep breaths, trying to push the nightmare out of her mind.
