☆Kate☆
“Abortion successful,” a notification popped up.
I closed my eyes as a wave of joy washed over me.
I had been eagerly anticipating the news the whole day.
For a second moment, I feared that the bastard inside her would pull through, but fortune favored me.
Now, everything was set to unfold just as I had envisioned.
With me as Mrs Norwood.
The pregnancy had merely been a minor hurdle.
A thorn in my side.
There was no way I would let that woman come and claim the birthright of my future children with her illegitimate offspring after four long years.
Only a fool would let that baby see the light of day.
Samira should have been grateful we spared her life.
I quickly sent a text to my mother in law to share our little victory, then promptly deleted the nurse's contact information and all her messages.
“Good, hope this will not be traced back to us,” she replied.
“Everything covered, it's her words and who is stupid enough to listen to her,” I replied.
Speaking of my in laws, it was time for Daniel to step up.
His mother and I had done all the heavy lifting.
We even faced the courtroom while he lounged at home, glued to his video games.
We even went an extra mile to get rid of the thing that was growing inside of her while he was enjoying the fruits as a free man.
I stormed into his study, frustration bubbling within me.
It felt like I was the one pushing everything forward, and he needed a reminder of his responsibilities.
He was unaware of his useless wife’s miscarriage.
He had no idea she was even pregnant.
That news was never going to reach him.
Given his soft spot for her, he would have jeopardized all our plans.
I entered the room without knocking, only to find him hastily shutting his laptop.
I fixed my gaze on him.
“Hey, what’s up?” he asked casually.
I was tempted to unleash my frustration or demand to see what was on his screen, but I held back.
I wasn’t his wife yet, and he had a notoriously bad temper.
I slowly put on a fake smile.
“Samira has just been moved to her new home for the next four years,” I said, seductively making my way to his side and settling onto his lap.
He looked at me, his expression unreadable.
This was the moment he was supposed to open a bottle of champagne and toasted to our success, but instead, he just stared.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, irritation creeping into my voice.
“Do we really need to keep tabs on her?” he replied.
I shot him a glare and stood up from his lap.
“I mean, she’s been convicted. It’s clear she’ll be behind bars, so let’s not discuss her unless she somehow escapes,” he added.
A soft laugh escaped me, but I played it cool.
“The only way we’ll never hear her name again is if you serve her those divorce papers,” I shot back. “You promised you’d do it after her sentencing.”
He opened a drawer and pulled out some papers, slamming them onto the table.
“Signed. All that’s left is for her to sign them,” he said.
I quickly snatched the papers and scanned through them.
To my surprise the papers were really signed.
I figured he was just playing his usual games.
A wave of excitement went through me as I threw my arms around him and settled back onto his lap.
At last.
And, most crucially, that woman was going to walk away empty-handed.
She wouldn’t dare raise a fuss either.
Not after what he had done to her.
I leaned in and captured his lips in a passionate kiss.
Finally, we were on the brink of becoming husband and wife.
I was this close to being called Mrs Norwood.
A dream I had ever since I set my eyes on Daniel.
I pulled away from the kiss.
“Does this mean we can tie the knot next week?” I asked eagerly.
He chuckled softly.
“I’ve got the dress and the venue all set. Your mother just needs to give her blessing,” I explained.
He tilted his head slightly.
“Let’s take a breath. Why the rush? First, I need to deliver these papers and hope she signs without a fuss,” he replied.
“Deliver?”
“Yes, I’m personally taking the forms to her.”
“No way!” I quickly interjected. “I’ll handle it. Remember, I’m still your secretary,” I insisted.
“Kate, I really...” he began to argue, but I cut him off.
There was no way he was going to see that woman in her state.
This man was unpredictable.
I was absolutely certain Samira would spill the beans about us and he would be the only one with ears to want to hear her out.
“No, our relationship can only work if you steer clear of her. You can’t visit her. I had hoped they’d give her more than ten years, but I suppose four will have to do, but you will never lay eyes on her,” I asserted.
He gazed at me intently, compelling me to unzip him and slip my hand into his boxers.
He let out a groan and shut his eyes.
I began to tease him slowly.
“Why would you want to confront her?” I squeezed firmly.
He gritted his teeth, wincing.
“I don’t think she’d want to see you, especially after what you did to her,” I pressed harder.
His breathing quickened, becoming slightly ragged.
“Kate!” he groaned, but I softened my grip and began to stroke him.
Alternating between pleasure and pain.
He always relished it when I played this game.
Leaning close, I whispered in his ear.
“Stop searching for her after you tossed her aside in a hell fire.”
He kept groaning, and biting his lips
He opened his mouth to say something but I squeezed harder.
“Sending…. you makes me seem… weak,” he stammered.
I abruptly halted and stood up.
“Come on, keep going,” he stammered.
I crossed my arms over my chest. “You can finish yourself off,” I retorted.
“Kate, I haven’t seen her, it’s only fair...”
“There’s nothing fair about what we did. It was either her or you, and let me be clear: had it been you, you’d be looking at twenty years!” I shouted. “The judge was just lenient with her because they probably saw through the bullshit!!”
He lowered his gaze.
"My mind is made up. I’ll either deliver these forms myself or hand them over to her uncle. He’ll surely manage to talk some sense into his foolish niece and help her break free from the devil that is you!" I shouted, storming out of the room.
I was on the brink of revealing more than I should have.
But then I remembered the divorce papers and hesitated, turning back.
I walked back into the room.
“Kate, what I meant to say was…” he tried to explain.
I brushed him off, snatched the papers, and marched out.
I headed straight for my car keys and handbag, then sped away.
The sooner, the better.
I could sense a hint of regret in his voice.
It was as if he wanted to explain himself to that woman, to apologize or say whatever nonsense to ease his conscience.
Daniel could be infuriating at times.
I needed to have a word with his mother, perhaps she could knock some sense into him.
We had risked everything for him.
I scoffed at the stupidity of it all.
But I wasn’t going to unleash my frustration on him.
Maybe I needed to try and understand him.
Maybe I had to guide him.
It wasn’t like he was blameless.
He had a history of cheating.
I certainly wasn’t the first.
If he genuinely cared for her, he would have kept his dick in check.
Or at the very least, he should have kept himself away from crime.
He was fortunate that all his company faced were mere penalties.
STUPID MEN.
Then again, perhaps I didn’t need to see her at all.
For what purpose?
I had already taken everything from that woman.
There was nothing left to claim.
No need to twist the knife further.
Instead, I drove straight to her uncle's house.
The old man despised Daniel.
Anyone in his position would surely speak some sense into his niece.
I drove to his house and knocked on the door.
For a moment, I thought no one was home, but then Samira’s aunt appeared.
A tall woman with a hint of gray in her curly black hair.
Her eyes were icy, devoid of warmth.
Not even a fake smile.
I half expected her to slap me.
“You’re Daniel’s mistress, right?” she asked bluntly.
She didn’t hide her words.
“Is your husband around?” I asked instead.
“You have no shame”
“Honey, who is it?” Her husband emerged.
“Mr. Richards, I’m Daniel’s secretary, here to deliver divorce papers,” I said, extending my hand to give him the documents.
His wife erupted in laughter.
“He sent his mistress to deliver the divorce papers? That coward! What a spineless man!”
“I believe it’s in her best interest to sign these papers,” I replied calmly.
Without warning, the wife lunged at me, but her husband restrained her.
I had to quickly step back.
For a second my heart skipped a bit.
“You animals! You’ll pay for this! You’ll all burn in hell!” she screamed.
She was crazy.
The woman was out of her mind.
“Leave, or I’ll call security!” the old man shouted.
I tossed the papers at their feet.
“If she refuses to sign, we’ll take legal action. I trust you’ll advise her accordingly unless you want to waste more money for her lawyer,” I said, turning to leave.
I could hear the old woman’s furious screams and curses as I walked away.
I got into my car and drove off.
What a pathetic woman, we were all living in hell.
If this was not hell, then what was her explanation for what was happening to her niece?
☆Samira☆I was so fixated on delivering the heaviest slaps I could muster to the wretched woman that I didn’t even notice someone had walked into the room.Suddenly, powerful arms seized me and shoved me against the wall, pinning me in place like they do in those hot sexy scenes.“Are you out of your mind?” he shouted, but his voice faltered the moment our eyes locked. It was her brother, the infuriatingly handsome, rude brother and he had gotten more handsome, a fact that I could not ignore.Back then, he had been utterly intimidating. I was always scared of him but there he was holding me as if he was going to tear my dress and split me open.“You…” he hesitated finally recognising me. He scrutinized me from head to toe.We stared at each other as he gradually released his grip on me.“Call security, call the police! This is the witch who deceived me and had my womb taken out!” Kate sprang from the bed, lunging toward me, but the brother stepped in front of her.“
☆Kate☆I knew people were in the room, I could hear them talking but their voices were a distant murmur. At some point they were even arguing and I heard the door shutting when one of them left though I had no idea who?I was trapped in a relentless repeat of a single thought."I am no longer a woman."“I am no longer a woman”“I am no longer a woman”That phrase circled over and over in my mind, endlessly repeating, drowning out everything else.A hand clasped mine, but I brushed it off, lost in my turmoil."Kate, can you hear me?" My mother’s voice pierced the fog of my thoughts. "Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat? Or maybe some water?"I tuned her out; her voice was becoming irritating."Please, Kate, just say something," her tone shifted to one of desperation."Shila, I think she needs some space," Daniel interjected, attempting to mediate."Space? Are you out of your mind? This isn’t the moment to leave her alone. She needs our love and support," my mo
☆Daniel☆“Wait, they did what?” I stammered, my mouth jaw in disbelief.“They took everything, her womb, everything! Just get to the hospital!” my mother in law, Shila Rells yelled before abruptly ending the call.I stood frozen, feeling utterly drained. Her words echoed in my mind as I struggled to piece together the events leading up to what she said. Kate never said anything about going to the hospital, she said was visiting her, but how had that led her to a hospital?I snatched my keys and sped to the hospital, my heart racing. Upon arriving at the gynecology ward, I was met with shouting and chaos. Adam Rells, Kate’s father, an elderly man with white hair, was yelling on top of his voice.“We're suing this damn hospital for every last cent, you incompetent fools!” he yelled, kicking chairs in frustration.I instinctively took a step back as his furious gaze locked onto mine.“And where have you been? Where were you when they were tearing my daughter apart an
☆Kate☆I woke up with a radiant smile stretching across my face, beaming from ear to ear. Today was the day I was going to reclaim my marriage and deliver a stunning blow to that witch from the depths of hell.I could almost envision her bursting into flames upon learning that I was carrying a Norwood Heir. That was her dream, one I had snatched from her grasp, shattering it into a million pieces. I suspected this was the main reason she was targeting me. I dressed up in a flowing black gown that covered me entirely. I topped off my look with a black scarf that concealed my hair. For the past few days, I was in doors. Only going out when absolutely necessary and always hiding my face to avoid the eyes and gossiping. As I slipped on my sunglasses and stepped out of the bedroom, I collided with Daniel. The scent of cheap perfume and alcohol was all over him. He had spent another night out with his whores, and he wasn’t even trying to hide it. It was a
☆Samira☆I took a leisurely sip of my mojito, a beaming smile lighting up my face as I lounged in my bikini by the pool, basking in the glorious sunshine. At this moment, I felt like I could die a content woman, free of regrets. Another sip of my drink but I was interrupted by the unwelcome presence of Vin’s looming shadow.“I swear, if you don’t vanish from my sight, I’ll have you dealt with,” I shot back at him.“You’ve brought the company to its knees, and now Daniel’s a wild dog, lost in his own delusions. Kate’s clinging to a facade of a marriage while her luxurious lifestyle crumbles. And Linda? She’s hiding in her house like a frightened cockroach,” he said, pulling up a chair as if I had invited him to join my sunny retreat.“I suppose we’ll be going our separate ways soon,” he added.I focused intently on my mojito, determined not to let him spoil my morning.“Oh, and by the way, Kate’s getting inseminated tomorrow,” he casually mentioned. “I thought you’d send
☆Kate☆I got into my car and drove away from the useless old woman, my heart boiling with anger and frustration. I felt utterly isolated in this battle. My husband, as useless as ever, offered no support. My mother was abroad, only willing to lend a hand if I needed a lawyer for my divorce. And Linda? She was cowering like the fool she was.It was me against that wretched witch, and I was determined to fight until my last breath. Not if I had anything to say about it!I sped over to her office, intent on confronting my dear husband. This wasn’t about that witch, it was all about my pathetic husband.I was on a mission to prove that my level of foolishness was higher than his and that every time he was going to go to her, I was going to show up.Upon arriving at the company, I parked right next to his car and approached him, only to find him in a heated argument with the security guards. It looked like they were either denying him entry or putting on a show just for me.I walke
