Chapter 6

Faye's POV:

As I walk through the thick, breezy, and foggy Forest of Nighthunt Pack with just a single bag on my shoulder, and a developing fetus in my stomach, my body shook as I began cracking my head; thinking about what to do next.

My father denounced me as his daughter, from being the next Alpha of the most powerful pack in North America to a lone wolf, without a pack.

Moon goddess, please help me.

I placed my hand on my stomach and closed my eyes, "we will be alright, honey." I whispered to myself as I rubbed my tummy. I knew that I would fight for us.

When I got to the open part of the forest, where there was a small flowing river which I had to cross to the other side, I squatted down to drink some water, I have been taught never to bend down, leaving myself for an enemy to catch unguarded.

I was still in Nighthunt Pack's territory, soon I will be crossing the boundary, and thinking about it alone made my heart race.

I can do it, I knew.

I wasn't a coward, I wasn't naive either.

Even as a rogue, I will strive for my baby and me.

After drinking the water, I cross over the river and stare at the thick Forest before me. My former Pack. "I'm sorry for everything, Max," I whispered. Even till the end, he was the only one I felt the need to apologize to.

My ex-lover.

The one who owned my heart until the very end.

"I am sorry, mother." I should be there, looking after her, but instead, I was being a bad child, which led to me being disowned. My heart felt heavy as I realized what she and Austin might be going through.

The payment for my sins.

Where would be my next destination? I didn't know.

A few hours later, I finally walked out of the thick Forest. Standing at the side of the quiet road with my bag on my shoulder, I kept waving at any car I see but none was stopping for me.

Humans don't have consciences, but I didn't blame them, the amount of killing that has happened along this road by rogues was alarming.

I was getting tired, and thirsty, I blinked my eyes twice as I wave for the SUV I saw coming from afar.

"Please help!" I screamed, waving my hand continuously for the car. The car continued at a high speed but came to an abrupt halt when it got close to me.

I dashed towards the side of the car and frantically knock on the window. The occupant roll down the car window and I was left in shock at the woman driving the car. Her shiny black hair was flowing freely down her back and her eyes which looks greener than the green pastures were staring right through my soul.

"Young lady, how may I help you?" Her tiny little voice resounded in my ears. I couldn't catch her scent which shows that she was a human.

So I decided to use the human language. "I need your help, ma'am. I am just a rejected teenage girl that is pregnant. I don't have anywhere to go." Instantly, after my words. She unlocked her car door and quickly got out of the car.

"Oh my goodness, dear, are you okay?" She queried softly, her eyes checking out for any wounds on my body. "Get inside the car, this place is not a good place to stay." She added and opened the car door for me. I let out a deep sigh of relief and briefly closed my eyes.

Thank you, Goddess, I muttered.

"Do you have anywhere to go?" The lady asked as she started driving again. "My name is Adelaide, by the way."

I wanted to say no when she asked me if I had anywhere to stay, but I couldn't.

It might be the Alpha blood in me, but I wasn't one who ask for help or try to play myself as a victim. "Actually, yes. If you're kind enough to drop me inside the city, my friend will come to pick me up." I retorted calmly.

She glanced at me through the rearview mirror and nodded her head. "Okay." She muttered, she squints her eyes at me and shook her head. I bet she wasn't convinced by my lies, but I wouldn't be a liability to anyone either.

After about 15 minutes, Adelaide drove across a Cafe, I glanced out of the window and pressed my hand against each other. My head swirled and turned as I thought about my next move.

I raised my hand and tapped her gently on her shoulder. "Do you need anything?" She questioned. She had been a darling.

"You can drop me here, my friend will come and pick me up," I uttered, my lips spread out and I grinned widely at her. "Thanks for the ride."

She parked the car in front of the restaurant and turned her full attention to me."Are you sure you'll be okay?" She inquired curiously, her eyes taking me in and I hummed.

"Don't worry, I'm good," I said again while grinning so much that it hurts. "Thanks for the ride."

She opened her handbag and brought out a complimentary card then handed it over to me. "If you need any help, you can call me. I live downtown." She smiled, I raised my hand and took the card from her, I glanced at the name and back at her face.

She was a doctor.

"I'll remember that," I nodded then got out of the car. I watched her pull out of the place and then took in a sharp breath as I calculate what my next move who'd be.

"You caused this," Mina blamed me.

"Oh shut up, you were excited to have sex with Kian because you never liked Max," I said sharply, the words falling from my mouth like venom.

I hate when she does that, blaming me for everything.

I glanced back at the cafe and sighed heavily. "Now, where do I start?"
