That should have dissuaded me from going closer but instead it spiked my interest. Saela's eyes darted back and forth while Torren just looked confused.

“What..what do you mean by that?” Toreen finally asked while I just stood back, hands over my bag and listened.

“It—”

“...could be a mistake from your end. Maybe you messed up the sample or something. I and Torren already ran a blood test at the beginning of Asher's wolf recovery journey and everything matched. You should be careful what goes on in the lab.” Saela shunned and the doctor did a little bow before saying something that I didn't quite hear and walked off.

“These doctors. I don't think any of them works for the sole purpose of saving anyone anymore.” She sighed, leaning in to Saela as they stared at the ward.

I think that's where Asher was admitted.

“How's the boy?” I finally brought the courage to clear my throat and ask. They turned to look at me simultaneously and Saela sneered.
