At the Rothschild’s mansion.

Lily got home and went straight to her room. Her grandfather was sitting in the sitting room but she didn't even notice.

The old man watched her climb the twirling stairs until she disappeared before he returned his gaze back to the event on the TV.

He saw everything that happened at the event. Didn't she say that her heart was dead? Just today and she couldn't even hide it from that child.

The old man smiled and shook his head. “How far can you go, child?” He heard how deep their connection was. They were like mother and child.

He suddenly sighed as his gaze down casted. It was his fault. If he had taken that boy five years ago, his granddaughter wouldn't be sad right now. On second thought, if he had taken the child, Caspian who had been turning the country upside down in search of Saffron would have caught on.
