Chapter Four

"Cinderella and the prince lived happily ever after. They became the nicest and fairest ruler to ever live. Dreams do come true, only if you have courage and be kind. And also with a little bit of magic," Abigail said as she finished reading Lenora her bedtime story.

Closing the book, She saw that her baby girl was fast asleep. She kept the book on her small shelf where she arranged all her bedtime stories, covered her properly with the duvet and gave her a goodnight kiss. Abby stood there for a while, watching her daughter sleep. Her children made her very happy; they were her world, only if their Father was with them, they would have been a very happy family.

To be honest, Abigail still misses Liam. She vividly remembered everything that happened the night the twins were conceived. The more She tried to hate him for treating her like trash after that night, the more her heart said otherwise.

Abby knew her children needed a Father figure in their lives. She dreads the day they will ask for their father as she had no idea what She was going to tell them.

Abigail left Lenora’s room and went to check on Lawrence in his room.

The apartment she was given to by Damon Inc was made up of four bedrooms. A master bedroom, two small rooms for Lawrence and his sister, Lenora and a normal size guestroom.

The kitchen and dining table was kind of connected to the living room. The master bedroom had its own bathroom while the other rooms had to share a bathroom which was not too far from the Twins' room.

Abigail got to Lawrence's room and saw that he was fast asleep. She went over to his bedside and gave him a kiss on his forehead. He looked so much like Liam, his Dad. Abby switched off the Tv Lawrence was watching while he fell asleep, She dimmed the light, then exited the room.

Abby took a glance at the clock in the living room and saw that it was just a few minutes past eight. She was expecting her boss. He promised to come check up on her tonight to see how far she had gone with settling down.

While waiting for Damon, Abigail continued to arrange the kitchen and all their other clothes that were still unpacked.

About twenty-five minutes later, She was done with everything. She looked around and smiled, satisfied with the way her new home looked like.

Even though She was sure she wouldn't work with Damon Inc forever, She was damn sure She would be able to save more money from her salary and she smiled at the thought of her children having a better future. She really did not want them to go through what she went through.

Abigail, Lenora and Lawrence had gotten back from her hometown yesterday morning which was Saturday Morning. She was escorted by Damon’s Personal assistant, Angela.

Angela seemed to be very kind and they got along pretty well. Abigail was happy Angela went with her because she disliked anything that dealt with height and to top it all, that was her first time flying.

Even Lawrence and Lenora were in awe. It was also their first time travelling by air. Abigail was very happy and blessed to experience that moment with her children.

The nanny had also visited Abigail and the twins earlier today, to get to know them before she starts work tomorrow.

Abigail showed the nanny around the house and they all went to the School her twins would be attending. She was glad the head of school agreed to meet them on a Sunday. Gabby will be the one to pick up the twins from school because Abby would be at work so it was necessary for the head of school to be familiar with Gabby's face.

Abigail was thankful everything went well and now she was excited for her first day at work tomorrow.

Soon enough, Abby heard the sound of the doorbell. She knew it was her boss because he was the only one She was expecting so she went ahead to open up.

*×************×***

"Bye Babe, I will miss you so much," Damon said in between kisses.

Anna smiled against his lips. "I will miss you, too, my love”. She whispered.

“Enough with the smooching guys.” Liam groaned, pretending to be angry.

“Calm down, dude. Just give us a few more minutes.”Damon replied then went back to kissing his fiancee.

Anna rose to become a top model in the United Kingdom and she was travelling very early tomorrow morning for a shoot and won’t be back until the following week. So Damon came to have dinner with the Williams, he also took that opportunity to come to see his fiancee before her tomorrow’s departure.

They have a get together at the Club which was planned by Lucy, Liam’s Fiancèe. She said she has a surprise for everyone so they should all be at the club by 9.30 pm. Only close friends were invited to their gathering. Of course, Anna could not go because she had an early flight to catch the following day.

“We are going to be late, Damon. Remember you said you still have somewhere to go before we head to the club”. Liam reminded him.

Damon often loses track of time whenever he comes to Liam's parents house and mostly when his Fiancée was around.

Damon and Liam were escorted to their car by Anna, Ruby and Robert.

Liam lives in his Apartment which was far away from his parents' mansion but closer to his family’s Company. Anna, on the other hand, stays with her parents in the mansion.

Rubi and Robert were happy that their children were doing well and were both engaged. Heaven knows they were very eager to have grandbabies. It would be a wonderful dream come true.

Rubi and Robert gave Liam and Damon a hug. Liam hugged his little Sister and Damon did the same, sealing the hug with a kiss. They promised to call each other very often and then, the two guys left.

After Abigail quit working for the Williams, Liam and Anna were not on good terms. Anna blamed Liam for being the reason Abigail left. If he had not acted like a jerk and just talked about what they had together.

Liam was also shocked when he came back from Australia and heard that Abigail no longer worked for them. He was beyond heartbroken and was depressed for days.

Being in Australia and having enough space to himself to think things through, he came to realize the extent of which he had wronged and hurt Abby. He promised himself to make peace with her when he went back home.

Opening up to his best friend, Damon, also helped him come to terms with himself. Damon couldn't help but notice Liam's worry so Liam had no choice but to open up about what transpired between himself and Abigail.

Damon advised him to confront his issues and not run away from them. Liam took Damon’s advice and was determined to make things right but unfortunately for him, Abigail had left before he could make amends.

Liam found it very difficult to move on, but with the help of Damon, he was able to.

Damon also helped Liam settle his dispute with his Sister, Anna and now they were so inseparable, refusing to be bothered by the past.

.............

“Are you sure you don’t want to come inside?” Damon asked Liam while unbuckling his seat belt.

They were already in front of Abigail’s Apartment. They decided to take Damon’s car to the club so in case one of them got drunk, the other person would drive.

"No, I'm fine," Liam said, turning his attention back to his phone. "Just don’t stay long." He added.

"Alright," Damon replied.

..........................................

Abigail opened the door for Damon, greeted him and ushered him in.

"Wow! looks like you've been living here for a while. I'm glad you've made yourself comfortable, and nice decorations by the way." Damon commended, still taking in his surroundings.

Abby smiled. "Thanks. I got a helping hand so it was easier settling in."

"Please take a seat. What can I offer you?" She said. They've both been on their feet all along.

"Please don't bother yourself. I just came to check on you briefly, just to make sure you're comfortable. I have a friend waiting for me downstairs. We are actually heading somewhere."

Abigail nodded in understanding.

"Oh, Were you able to get a nanny? What about a school for the twins? Or you need the day off tomorrow to sort that out?"

"Everything's been sorted. I shall resume tomorrow and on time."

Damon smiled. "I knew my instincts would not betray me. I'm glad I hired you. I should get back to my friend before he gets all grumpy. Goodnight and good luck on your first day of work tomorrow."

............

Liam wasn’t surprised by Damon’s gesture. That was how he treated all his staff; He always made sure they were comfortable. As Damon often says, if his staff were comfortable, they would work efficiently which would definitely be a bonus for the company.

Liam really admired Damon for that as he had no time for such.

Damon and Liam soon found themselves entering the club. They proceeded to their usual VIP spot. This was their regular club as it was owned by their close friend, Michael.

Lucy welcomed Liam with a long, passionate kiss. They had been dating for two years and recently got engaged.

Lucy, Liam, Damon and Michael were joined by their other close friends. They talked about different things, enjoyed themselves, danced and made funny conversations.

Damon felt a bit lonely. He was missing the love of his life. He took out his phone and started texting her.

Later, Lucy got everyone’s attention by hitting an empty glass with a wine opener.

"Attention everyone!!!" She said at the top of her voice. Where they were (the VIP spot) wasn't that noisy but neither was it quiet. "I invited you guys because I have a surprise for y'all," Lucy said as she put down the glass cup she saw holding.

"I'm Pregnant!" She smiled, gently placing her right hand on her still flat belly.
