Despite the amount of medication the doctors had been pumping her full of, she managed to start to wake up without them even realizing it. When a nurse came into the room that she had been placed in, even though it was highly monitored with the guards and even the doctors and staff of the Medical Center. She was slightly surprised to see the girl there with her eyes completely wide open.
“Where am I?” the girl managed to ask, and she looked at the nurse, who was about ready to drop the tray of medications. She was clearly surprised and even shocked to the point that she was embarrassed.
“You need to hold on one moment. I need to get one of the doctors in here. You should not be awake right now.” center sign she placed the tray down and then quickly ran out of the room, and then there was another high pitch sound that echoed through the area. She didn't know what the noise was. There was nothing there before and then a highpitched squeak that seemed to beep. She looked around the room, and she didn't see anything that looked familiar. Though she didn't know anything about anything. It was rather frustrating as she looked around the room and could see things that she knew she had seen before but not here.
An older man walked into the room and surprised her as well because he was clearly shocked that she was awake. There was a lot that was going on in the hallway as other people seemed to be coming in to take a look at her. The man was in a white lab coat, and she assumed that that must be the doctor that the woman had come in and said that she was going to get. She had to think that she had to trust her doctor. Though she didn't know why. She also didn't know what a doctor was. There was absolutely nothing that she could put her finger down on. She could remember words, but she didn't know what they meant. She didn't really know what anything meant. She could feel something in her that didn't feel right. It was like everything was on fire. She had to think that fire might hurt her. Though she wasn't quite sure as she was trying to remember what fire was.
“How are you feeling?” the older man asked as he walked a little bit closer, trying to school his expression. He was trying to remain completely neutral; however, the fact that the girl had woke up at all while the medication that she had been on for the pain and to keep is relatively sedated had not worked. It was almost as amazing as the fact she was alert and didn’t seem to be all that upset either.
“It hurts,” she said as she looked at the man.
“That's slightly understandable considering the number of injuries that you have. Can you tell me your name?” the doctor asked as he looked at her, and then she looked at him completely blank.
“I don't know that,” she stated as she looked at him, and he began to shake his head, knowing that he had called it well in advance. They have been monitoring her brain activity well. She had been sedated, and they had also done after a few tests to continue monitoring the brain bleeds and the bruising we're starting to fade, but the pressure was still there. He honestly didn't know if she would ever be able to recover completely.
“I see. Well, I guess that I should begin at where you were found, and hopefully, something might jog your memory. As of right now, I think that your amnesia is temporary. You obviously can speak, so it's not as bad as I thought. However, we might not be able to get down to the end of the situation until you can remember who you are, and what you were doing out here.” The doctor said as he looked at her.
He pulled up a chair and then began to go over everything that was done and everything that they were going to have to do. She looked around the room and then realized that she was in some sort of hospital room even though it looked like she was the only patient that they had. She was becoming slightly overwhelmed with all the information, and though she could process some of it, a lot of it just sounded like mumbled words that shouldn't be put together. He looked up to one of the nurses and the guard standing at the door. He knew that she was starting to become a little more anxious because she didn't understand everything that he was saying to her even though he was trying to keep it as simple as possible.
“Somebody get Mr. Danielson down here. I told him that as soon as she woke up, he would be notified.” and he said that one of the guards went over to the phone and started making a call probably to one of the energy labs that was deeper within the mountain. He turned back to her, “Mr. Danielson is the owner of this entire facility. He is the reason why you are in this medical facility as well. He wanted to be updated on your condition given the fact of our room's remote location. He was concerned with you being close to the lab.”
“I don't understand what you're saying,” she said as she looked at the doctor.
“What he is saying is that because of our location, you should have never been able to find the base. Now I guess you have to answer a few questions along the lines of why you are here in the first place.” Benton said as he walked into the room and looked over the girl. He hadn't seen her and a few days. He wasn't expecting to have to look at her so soon. The doctors had completely suggested that they were going to keep her sedated for up to a week. However, she was sitting in bed, and she was alert. It wasn't until he looked at her in saw her eyes that he knew he might be in trouble.
Her eyes were the most beautiful he had ever seen in all of his life.
“Mr. Danielson, Sir, I explained to you that she might not be able to truly communicate anything right off the bat when she did wake up. It seems that my suspicions were confirmed. I believe that she has amnesia from whatever hit her head. Those bruising and the swelling in her brain had gone down enough to not be life threatening anymore. It is still a huge issue. As of right now, I don't believe that she can remember anything. She doesn't know her own name at the moment.” the doctor said as he looked at the man who is just staring at her. “Are there any tests that we can run to make sure that she's telling the truth? How do we honestly know that she can't remember anything? she could easily be here to sabotage something.” Benton said as he looked at her knowing that there was nothing in her eyes that showed any recognition of him or the facility. He was staring at her, and though he didn't wanna seem cold and calculating right now, he was too
Unfortunately for Benton, his housing compound and mountain base were being used by his sister and her friends, who were trying to get his attention. He was also dealing with the fact that he was so close even though he know he needed to take a break. He wasn't interested in anyone that his sister was going to bring over, and somehow she managed to convince him to allow her to throw a few dinner parties. At least while she was there. Then he had the mysterious stranger who was in the medical Bay who still was under watch, knowing that she could possibly be somebody there to infiltrate the lab. However, she still had not shown any sign that she was trying to do anything. She was either the most patient person on the planet, or she was somebody who had suffered a tragic accident. The trace analysis, was coming back later today, and he was going down to the lab to see what the results were, and this was the one time i
He walked into the main dining hall that had been decked out with fresh flowers and even probably close to 1000 candles. He had to wonder if his sisters thought that this would work. As if trying to set a mood that he wasn't in the mood to even remotely talk to anybody, let alone meet the person that he was supposed to stay with. This wasn't the way to do it. He took one look at everyone that was in the room waiting for him to join them before they started having dinner and knew that this night was going to be nothing more than a headache. At this point, he was looking forward to somebody trying to interrupt the night with some information. Even though he had specifically told everybody that he would be busy for the evening dealing with his mother and sisters and, of course, all the extra eligible females that were waiting to bat their eyes. They had all looked at him like he was nothing more than a giant piece of meat that had a
Benton walked briskly to the medical facility. It wasn't that far, but it was far enough where it would take him a few minutes to get there. As you walk down the hall, he could hear everything starting to get a little bit more pronounced. Something was going on, and he wasn't exactly sure what. Whatever, it sounded like it wasn't that good. He was absolutely sure that he wasn't going to enjoy having to deal with whatever he was walking into. One of the doctors was yelling, and some of the nurses as well. But he didn't know who they were yelling at, and it seemed as if it was getting louder as he was getting closer, but it wasn't because of the distance. It was because of whatever the situation was, the doctor absolutely adamant for somebody to get out of the area. Benton stopped for a minute and tried to piece together what he could already hear coming from the medical Bay. He thought it would probably be best if he took a moment to lis
Benton followed the doctor out into the hallway. It was one of the very few times that somebody was going to lead him around. He wasn't the submissive type. He was usually the most dominant male in the room, period. However, he did trust the doctor, and he would follow him. That was just something that was going to happen. Otherwise, he wouldn't be working there. “The patient exhibits some kind of PTSD towards the water. Something very bad happened to her. The only time that we can understand what is going on with her is when she's asleep. Right now, she's talking in her sleep period. She keeps mentioning Josh, but we don't know who that is. Neither does she. She seems confused when we mention that name. However, when it's time to get water near her as we need to cleanse and bathe certain areas to make sure that no infection sets in, we have a huge issue with her, and it's the only time that we have any type o
The entire room went completely silent. The only thing that was heard was the beeping of the machines. The woman in the middle of the room was clearly in shock. Now her wide eyes and the confused look on her face were the only thing that people were staring at. They needed to see any type of recognition with the name that he had just said. It was clear that she didn't have a clue. She wasn't reacting to the name at all, but that wasn't unusual when it came to cases of amnesia. Even Benton was sitting there looking at her very closely. He meant every word that he said, though. It was one of the very few times that he had shown any type of empathy for a person, but he knew that he had done wrong. He wasn't going to take it out on her anymore because of his mistake. He was going to make sure that she was taken care of medically and that all of her needs were met. It was a fluke that she had been that close to the base at all; how
The next two weeks seemed to fly by. Every bit of information that they had gathered from the trace analysis and even what her body went through. Seemed to confirm the fact that she was Kelly Williams. There had been quite a few rescue efforts, and even recovery efforts to find the boat that she was supposed to be on, but it didn't seem that it was even in the area. There was no wreckage to be found at all. The doctors had also found that there were two massive brain bruises. One was a few days older than the rest. Or at least that's what they were guessing it was. There was no way to test to see how old it was; however, with the size in the way that it was shrinking, they had to assume that it had been inflicted days prior. Benton didn't exactly like the way that that news had come out. The way that the doctors had explained it to him was basically that that wound was probably inflicted the day of the boating accident
Everybody stood in shock. No one could believe the screen that was in front of them. However, when the doctor saw it, he agreed that that was the most probable reason why that particular brain bruise was there. The abnormal shape of the bruise on the outside of her skin is the only thing that was a real clue. No, of course, it had faded in time. It was still there, and they could see the outline. This just confirmed everything that they had begun to think after the phone call with her parents, which Benton had explained to the doctor what had gone on, and even he had thought that something was a little odd with that. When they walked to the medical Bay as they were discussing the next step of her treatment, which would be to get up and introduce her to a few other things around the compound, they walked into the room, and she was asleep. She was once again crying out for the person named Josh, and this was the first time
