Chapter 4: The Acceptance of His Rejection

“Chambers!  Why would you do this?”  Alpha Kelvin questioned.  “What do you mean?”  He asked.  “Who is this female?  And how did she get on my territory?”  The Alpha glared.  “I never gave her permission to be here”.  The female rolled her eyes.  “I’m here with my father, Alpha Donaldson.”  “So, why are you hiding back here?”  Alpha Kelvin asked.  “We needed some alone time.”  She stated.  “We haven’t seen each other in a few days.”  Kelvin rubbed his index finger across his eyes.  “I’m confused, I thought you were Kyde’s mate.”  “We’ll, I am but I found out that Kruz is going to be Beta and Kydence and Kasper are going to run the training center.”  Andrew frowned.  “I should be Beta, not that idiot Kruz.”  “That’s not up to you.” Alpha Kelvin growled.  “The position goes to the oldest child, which is Kruz.  If he’s unable to carry out his duties, then Kasper would take over and then Kyde.  But of course, you know how it works and I’m not going to strip Kruz of his birthright because you think you’re owed something.”  “Then, I guess that’s why I found me a more capable mate, a mate who can give me what I deserve.”  Andrew smirked.  “What you DESERVE?” Alpha Kelvin growled.  “We welcomed you into our home, started to accept you as her mate and then you go and do this?”  He said with disappointment.  “You broke her heart and possibly her.”

“I, Alpha Kelvin Hugo Shadow, of the Shadow Mountain pack, hereby strip you, Andrew Grady Chambers, of your Delta title of the Shadow Mountain pack and strip you of all your ties to the Shadow Mountain pack.”  Alpha Kelvin said, catching Andrew by surprise.  “Did you really think that I would allow you to remain a member of my pack?  You just rejected your TRUE FATED mate, who also happens to be my beloved niece.”  There were those few occasions when mates were rejected for whatever reason: they were too weak, not pretty, or handsome enough, didn’t have a rank, etc. Karson never imagined that one of his pups would be rejected, especially not his little girl.  Karson’s eyes glazed over, “Kora said we need to get home and to bring Andrew.”  He told Kelvin but never took his eyes off Andrew.

Beta Karson arrived with Andrew and Wendy, followed by the elders, one of which was Andrew’s grandfather, Elder Daniel, he was rushing towards.  “What’s going on here?!  Why are you treating my grandson like a criminal?!”  He demanded to know.  “Well, not only has he declared that he’s no longer cares or wants to be a member of Shadow Mountain, he also rejected his TRUE FATED mate.”  Alpha Kelvin explained.  “He did WHAT!?  WHO!?”  Elder Daniel demanded.  “He rejected his TRUE FATED, Kydence Diamond Shadow, for an unknown female.”  Kelvin stated.  “Grandfather calm down.  I had a great reason to reject her.”  Andrew started to explain. “A great reason?!  Boy!  The only good reason to reject a high-ranking officer would be if you are claimed by an Alpha female!”  He grumbled.  Andrew smiled wide.  “Grandfather allow me to introduce you to Alpha female Wendy James of the Green Lake pack.”  He introduced his chosen mate to his grandfather.  “James?”  Daniel asked wide eyed.  “His pup has chosen you as her mate?”  Andrew smiled proudly at his grandfather.”  “Yes, and I will be her Alpha and Alpha to the Green Lake pack.”  “My boy!”  Daniel slapped his grandson’s back.  “What did I tell you?  It was only a matter of time.”  Daniel cheered.

“Just like his grandfather!”  Karson growled.  “He hurt my little girl, and you cheer for him?!”  Daniel paused for a moment and thought.  “Well, that is unfortunate but a necessary casualty.”  Karson went to lunge at Daniel when the doctor came out of the house.  “Beta Karson,” one of the elder’s got his attention.  “As much as we loath and agree with you as to how your pup was treated, it’s not against the law to reject one’s fated mated.”  “Excuse me, Beta,” the doctor carefully interrupted.  “Doc, how is our Beta pup?”  One of the elders asked.  “She’ll be fine and recover but it would be best if she accepts Mr. Chambers’ rejection.  She’s under pain medication so hopefully she won’t feel as much pain.”  Dr. Waters explained.

“Mom, please, I need to do this.”  Kyde told her mom as she pushed herself up and out of bed.  “Kycen, Kasper please help me.”  She said holding her hand out for them to help her.  They both sighed and helped her up.  “Boys.”  Kora sighed.  “She’s right mom.  She has to do this.”  Kasper said.  “She has to accept his rejection; she has to be able to move on.”  Kycen carry her out and be careful.”  She instructed.  Kycen gently picked up his little sister and walked behind Kasper as he led them downstairs.  They stood at the edge of the doorway to the porch and watched as Wendy rubbed herself all over him.

“You’re mine now,” Kydence heard Wendy whisper in his ear, and she called out to Andrew. “This is your last chance, Andrew.  Are you sure you want to do this?”  Kydence asked as she lightly panted.  He smirked at her and deeply kissed Wendy sending Kydence to her knees. “I, Kydence Diamond Shadow, daughter of Beta Karson and Kora Shadow of the Shadow Mountain pack, accept the rejection of DELTA Andrew Chambers as my mate now and forever I reject our bond now and forever more.” She stated, emphasizing his position as delta, before she blacked out.

“Wendy my child,” a male voice called, “what are you doing here?”  He inquired.  “Oh, hi daddy.”  Wendy greeted.  “Wendy, again why are you here at the Beta’s home?”  He asked.  “Alpha Donaldson, your daughter is…do you know who this young man is?”  Kelvin asked.  “Well, yes, he’s her chosen mate.”  He stated that he hasn’t found his mate.  “We are here because he wanted to be here to celebrate the Beta’s pup’s birthday.”  He informed.  “Our birthday?  Ha!”  Kruz laughed out.  “Try more like here to reject his true mate.”  He growled.  “True mate?”  Alpha Donalson gasped in surprise.  “You said you didn’t have a mate.”  Alpha Donaldson glared at Andrew.  “I don’t have a mate.”  Andrew stated.  “That’s because you rejected her and she’s upstairs trying to recover from YOUR betrayal scars!”  Kasper bellowed.

“Daddy, I think we should leave.”  Wendy said to her dad wrapping her arms around Andrew.  “Wendy, I think you should reconsider your choice in Andrew.”  Her father suggested.  “Daddy!  NO! Andrew is mine, I don’t want anyone else!”  She pouted.  You say that now, just wait till you find your TRUE fated mate.”  Kycen snorted.  “I will reject him; I only want Andrew.”  She said snuggling closer to him.  “You say that now,” Kycen snorted, “wait till you find him or even her, the pull will drive you insane.  Your beast will pester you till you go to him/her and if not then they will shut you out and push you to him/her.”  He said.  “Stop saying HER, I am not that way.”  He growled.  That’s not your choice, it’s the Moon’s choice, anyway, if you reject your TRUE mate, your wolf will feel immense pain and she will throw that pain to you.  Kruz explained.  “Does that sound about right?”  He asked, looking at Andrew, whose face was twisting with pain and sweat.  He looked like he was fighting off pain.  “I’m fine.”  He breathed out.  “Yeah, keep telling yourself that.”  Kasper smirked.  “It doesn’t matter, his pain will subside.  We have already marked and mated each other.”  She proudly said.  “Once she accepts his rejection, his pain will go away.”

“Kyde, you need to come back to bed.”  Her mom, Kora, pleaded with her.  “Mom, I need to accept Andrew’s rejection,” she panted, “I need this pain to stop, Diamond is also in pain, she wants the pain to end.”  She said as she slowly made her way down the stairs and out the front door.  “Sis, you shouldn’t be out here.”  Kasper said, putting his arm around her waist holding her up.  “See what you’ve done!”  Kruz yelled as he helped support his little sister.  “I hafta accept his rejection, Di and I need this pain to end.”  She panted.  “If he wants to throw us away, throw me away because I’m not what he thought I should be, even IF I am the top and best warrior that Shadow Mountain has, then that’s on him.”  She was able to finally say.

“Why is that happening to her?”  Wendy asked pointing to the black lines and bruises on Kydence.  “And what are those marks on her arms?”  She scrunched her face with disgust at what she was seeing.  “Those are the betrayal marks YOU caused they’ve been left on our sister because you can’t keep your hands off of HER mate.”  Kasper grumbled.  “It’s okay Kruz. I hafta do this. I need this to be over.  If he wants to TRY and be an Alpha, then let him.  We all know he will NEVER prove himself to be a good Alpha.”  She snorted.  She stood a little taller and stronger with her brother’s help.

“I, Kydence Diamond Shadow, daughter of Beta Karson and Kora Shadow and Shadow Warrior, of the Shadow Mountain pack accept the rejection of Andrew Grady Chambers, as his TRUE FATED mate in witness of my family, Alpha and the Moon now and forever.  I am no longer bound to him as his TRUE and FATED mate.”  She recited cutting her connection to Andrew as he fell to his knees clutching his chest.

Kydence sighed in relief, “it’s finally over.”  She breathed out in relief as her pain started to subside.  “I’m tired can you take me inside please.”  She asked her brothers.  They nodded and helped her back to her room.  “I don’t ever want to see you again.”  She told Andrew over her shoulder.
