Casting one last look around the room to see if he had forgotten anything, he is satisified to see that he had everything that they had brought in. Andy gathers the children to his sides and each child, frightened beyond belief at his sudden display of fear, hold tightly on to his shirt, grabbing it by the fistfuls. Andy carries all of their luggage that they had taken into the motel with them out into the cold night.

The three of them run to the car and he rips open the doors to the back seat, shoving the luggage and the children inside. “Jack, I am locking the doors.     When Lacey got to the hospital, she ran inside with the Sheriff on her heels. She did not even have to say a word to anyone. The nurse saw her jump out of the car and saw the blood on her clothes. The woman must have known who she was. It was a small town with small town gossip. By now they probably knew more about her than her second cousin does. “Right this way, Mrs. Williamson.” The nurse, who appears to be in her late fifties or early sixties, has white blonde curly hair that hits at her shoulders. She has a few wrinkles on her pretty face and bright green eyes, but it is her kind, sympathetic smile that catches Lacey's attention.     Lacey tells him about how it all started when they picked up Nate. She mentioned that before they had picked him up that someone had tried to run them off of the road. She shared with them her thoughts and concerns of how she thought that it was Nate who had been driving the car that had tried to run them off of the road. She told them all about his creepy behavior in the car and the altercation at the diner. How she had witnessed Nate arguing with Cami the waitress and how Cami had seemed to be nervous or unsettled around him.
