Chapter 1: Rejecting My Audition?

In a luxurious mansion, sunlight streamed through the windows, casting warm rays into the opulent bedroom where Isabella rubbed her eyes and woke up from her slumber. She lazily stretched, glancing at the clock and realizing it was already noon. It was her second day back from her trip, and her body still felt exhausted, hence the late wake-up. Her phone displayed numerous missed calls and messages.

"Isabella! Where are you?" "Oh my goodness, did you forget about today's audition?" "Isabella, please hurry! I'm desperate!!!" ...

A series of messages furrowed Isabella's brow. They were all from her agent, Ava Roberts. Was there an audition today? Just as Isabella was wondering, Ava's call came through.

"Isabella, when you signed with me, you promised to take your acting career seriously, and now you're not showing up for today's audition! Are you trying to drive me crazy?" Ava's voice came through the phone, sharp and irritable.

Isabella slightly furrowed her brows and moved the phone away from her ear, responding, "Wasn't the audition scheduled for the day after tomorrow?"

"I sent you a text two days ago, and we rescheduled the audition for today! Did you forget?"

"Sorry, I genuinely forgot," Isabella recalled that when Ava messaged her two days ago, she was at a bar, having drinks with her good friends, and the matter slipped her mind.

"Are you kidding me?"

"It's just an audition, and you have a good relationship with the director, right? We can reschedule it. Anyway, I have other things to take care of. Goodbye." Isabella didn't want to listen to Ava's nagging anymore, so she hung up and leisurely headed towards the bathroom.

In front of the mirror stood a stunning woman with tousled hair, still radiating her captivating face and slender figure. Isabella, at the age of 22, was a natural beauty that would catch anyone's eye.

Isabella took a shower in the bathroom and then went to the walk-in closet, changing into the latest fashionable dress of the season. She proceeded to the dining room, where her elder brother Benjamin Turne and her younger brother Alexander Turne were present. Both men were dressed in suits, showcasing the remarkable genes of the Turner family.

Noticing that both of them seemed to be in a sour mood, Isabella asked, "What's wrong with you two?"

Benjamin looked at Alexander with a slight smile on his face. "It's Valentine's Day today, and Alexander planned to confess to Olivia Johnson, but somehow she heard the news from somewhere and found him last night, saying she likes someone else."

Isabella and Alexander were fraternal twins who enjoyed teasing each other since childhood. Upon hearing this, she immediately laughed and said, "So, it's your turn today!"

"Isabella! Don't revel in my misfortune!" Alexander's tone clearly showed his displeasure. It was quite amusing that he had known Olivia for a few months, and she made it clear yesterday that she had always seen him as just a good friend.

Reluctantly admitting it, Alexander was indeed handsome, and Isabella couldn't help but ask, "So, who does Olivia like if she doesn't even like you?"

"The CEO of the Adams family enterprise, Ethan Adams," Benjamin said.

"Didn't Ethan Adams snatch away several of Benjamin's business projects?" Alexander grew angrier as he pondered, "Ethan Adams is the biggest enemy of our Turne family!"

Isabella had been studying and was unaware of Ethan Adams until now. Sipping her juice, she smiled faintly, "He might be your enemy, but don't drag the Turne family into it." After saying that, Isabella's phone rang. It was Ava calling, and she hesitated for two seconds before answering.

"Isabella, you're done for! I just contacted the director. He saw your photos and thought they were good, so he tried to arrange a meeting with an investor. However, the investor doesn't want to give you another chance and said that someone who can't even be punctual for an audition can't be relied upon."

Isabella nonchalantly asked, "Who is the investor for this movie?"

"Ethan Adams."

"Alright, I understand," Isabella responded calmly and hung up the phone.

Benjamin and Alexander noticed Isabella's displeased expression. "Oh my, what's wrong with my dear sister?" Alexander's tone became mocking.

Isabella gave him a sharp look and turned to Benjamin. "Benjamin, tell me more about Ethan Adams."

Then, Isabella learned about Ethan Adams from Benjamin. Ethan Adams was the heir of the Adams family enterprise and the current CEO. At the young age of 20, Ethan took over the vast business empire of the Adams family. After assuming control, he swiftly eliminated all obstacles and secured numerous major projects within just three years. The family business had expanded globally. This man was known for his decisive actions, ruthless methods, and meticulous planning.

"Benjamin, do you have a photo of him?" Isabella inquired.

Benjamin said he didn't have one but asked curiously, "Isabella, why are you so curious about Ethan Adams?"

Leaning on her chin, Isabella sighed and responded, "I recently got involved with a movie, but I mistakenly remembered the audition time. He is the investor for this film and doesn't plan to give me another chance."

After listening, Alexander burst into laughter. "Let me tell you! It's good that you were late. Just entering the entertainment industry and wanting to play the lead role? Instead, you should stay at home and be a couch potato. Don't go out and embarrass yourself."

Isabella gave him a disdainful look and then decided to showcase her true abilities. She picked up her phone and began searching for information about Ethan Adams.
