Chapter 4: Well Done

Stepping out of the elevator, Olivia paused for a moment. This floor only had Alexander's office, so the woman who just walked out must have come from there. Olivia furrowed her brows and walked into the office, asking Alexander, "Who was that person just now?"

Alexander had probably figured out that she had encountered Isabella but didn't explain much. He simply said, "A friend."

Olivia squinted slightly and asked Alexander, "Was she the person you were planning to confess to last night? Just a friend? Didn't it go well? Tell me."

Upon hearing this, Alexander could only feel bitter in his heart. Two nights ago, Olivia had approached him in a hurry. "I heard that you were planning to confess to me on Valentine's Day? Alexander, you better not mess around. I have someone I like!"

It was like a thunderbolt for Alexander. He had never known that Olivia had someone she liked. To save face, he could only awkwardly say, "I was planning to confess, but you misunderstood. The person I wanted to confess to wasn't you."

"Oh, I misunderstood then. Thank goodness! I've always considered you as a brother! It's better that way," Olivia sighed in relief and casually asked, "So, who is the person you like?"

Alexander countered her question, "What about you? Who do you like?"

"Ethan," Olivia's face was filled with excitement.

"Tell me, is the woman just now the one you were talking about?" Olivia's voice came through, and Alexander finally snapped out of his memories from two nights ago.

He nodded, wanting to see if there was any hint of unhappiness in Olivia's expression. But there wasn't.

"Wow, you have good taste! She's a beauty!" Olivia said with a smile.

Alexander felt a bit disappointed in his heart and asked, "By the way, why did you come to find me?"

Olivia sighed, "Don't mention it. I just delivered some documents to Ethan on behalf of my dad."

"You saw Ethan? Isn't that good?" Alexander said.

"It's good, but I saw bite marks and kiss marks on his neck. I've investigated Ethan thoroughly, and he doesn't have a girlfriend. Where did those kiss marks come from? That woman dared to bite him!" Olivia complained.

After hearing Olivia's complaint, Alexander couldn't help but conceal a smile in his eyes. "Wow! Who did it? Well done!"

In the evening, Isabella received a package sent by the CEO of N.S in her small villa. Several people neatly arranged the bags, clothes, jewelry, and other new items in her closet.

Every woman loved luxury brands, and Isabella was no exception. The anger that had been building up throughout the day subsided a bit. She took a relaxing bath, dressed up elegantly, and chose a low-key Mercedes from the garage to go to her old house.

In the vast and tranquil mansion, Isabella parked her car and encountered Amelia Turner, who had just arrived at the estate. Amelia was Isabella's cousin, and they were constantly at odds with each other, unlike her and Alexander who just engaged in occasional banter.

Amelia was superior to Isabella in every aspect except for her appearance. She had excellent grades, was well-behaved, and never caused any trouble. She had even started her own company. On the other hand, Isabella had a bad temper and frequently caused trouble at school. Now, at twenty-two years old, she hadn't earned a single penny and lived carefree, relying on the family's credit cards. When their eyes met, neither of them spoke and they walked into the living room.

Their grandfather only had two sons. Amelia's parents died in a car accident when she was young. As for Isabella's parents, they abandoned the family business when Benjamin took over and now enjoyed a carefree life, traveling around the world. The four of them, along with the two elderly grandparents, sat around the dining table. Grandmother held Amelia's hand and asked concernedly. Isabella wasn't neglected either, but Grandmother disapproved, whereas Grandfather doted on her.

"Isabella, you've lost weight again after not seeing you for a few days. Eat more!" Grandfather said.

"Okay, Grandpa." Isabella smiled sweetly.

At that moment, Grandmother suddenly asked, "Didn't you say you were going for an audition? How did it go?"

"I got the timing wrong, so I didn't make it." Isabella responded absentmindedly.

Grandmother narrowed her eyes slightly, sensing that something was amiss. Grandfather quickly intervened, "Alright, let's not talk about work during dinner."

But Grandmother didn't let it go. "Can't you learn from your cousin? Why do you have to follow in your mother's footsteps and join the entertainment industry? It's such a chaotic circle, and if something happens, your two brothers will have to clean up the mess behind you."

Upon hearing this, Isabella's expression turned cold. Isabella's mother used to be a very popular singer, but that was in the past. Now she was immersed in her own world with her father, traveling and exploring the world. Grandmother had always been dissatisfied with her mother's identity, but she couldn't surpass her son's favoritism. Luckily, her mother gave birth to two outstanding sons, which eased the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. Until a few days ago when she returned after graduating from college, announcing her intention to enter the entertainment industry...

Both Benjamin and Alexander wanted to say something to support their sister, but Isabella had already put down her cutlery and spoke angrily, "I've said it before, I can make a name for myself in this industry with my own abilities! I don't need anyone's help, and if something goes wrong, I'll take responsibility myself!" As soon as she finished speaking, Isabella got up, picked up her handbag from the sofa, and left.

"Look at her temperament. I only said a few words, and all of you spoil her too much," Grandmother exclaimed, feeling a headache coming on.

Amelia and Grandfather hurriedly comforted her on the side. Benjamin went after Isabella.

It was raining outside at that moment.

"Isabella," Benjamin hurriedly caught up with her.

Isabella's face was expressionless. "You can go back. I'm not hungry."

Helplessly, Benjamin rubbed her head. "Don't take Grandma's words to heart. Do whatever you want to do. I will always be your support."

"Yeah, thank you, Benjamin."

"It's raining heavily, be careful on the road."

Isabella nodded, opened the car door, and sat in the driver's seat. Under Benjamin's doting gaze, she drove away. She felt quite agitated inside. From childhood until now, she had been a troublemaker, lagging behind in academics, causing trouble at school every few days. But her privileged family life left her with no worries.

It wasn't until a year ago when Amelia mocked her, "Isabella, without your brothers and parents, without the Turner family, you're nothing."

Isabella wanted to refute Amelia 's words, but she couldn't find any counterarguments. What she said was true. Entering the entertainment industry wasn't just a momentary impulse to prove herself.

It was what Isabella had longed for since she was young. She also wanted to shine on the screen like her mother. But everyone in her family thought she was just playing around. No one understood her. They all thought she would only cause trouble, and unfortunately, the facts seemed to support their beliefs.
