Chapter 5: Arrogance, Rudeness, Malice

The rain outside grew heavier, and the windshield wipers worked tirelessly. The old mansion was located in the suburbs, on a somewhat secluded road. At a corner, Isabella, without making a sound, collided with an oncoming car. At this moment, Isabella's frustration grew even stronger! It had been a whole day of annoying things!

Isabella sat in the car, unable to see the person on the opposite driver's seat clearly due to the heavy rain. She vaguely noticed that she had hit a rather expensive-looking car.

After waiting for five minutes, the other person didn't get out of the car. Isabella couldn't sit still anymore. She found an umbrella and got out to inspect the damage. The front of her car was already damaged, while the other person's car seemed to be fine, except for some scratched paint.

Isabella's lips twitched. She walked up to the car's window and tapped on it. It was her fault for not paying attention to the collision, and she thought it was her responsibility to compensate for the damages. But when the car window rolled down, revealing the cold and handsome face of a man, Isabella was stunned.

Ethan was also taken aback. As their eyes met, he could vaguely sense the shift in Isabella's emotions from impatience to anger, and finally, to a pitiful expression. "Is your car expensive? I might not be able to afford to compensate you," she said with a touch of helplessness.

Ethan didn't know Isabella's identity, and her car was worth just over three hundred thousand dollars, while his own car was worth a million. What could he do? "You don't need to compensate me."

Isabella lowered her gaze. "Can you give me a ride then? My car is broken, and I can't drive it now."

"No." After saying that, Ethan was about to roll up the window, but Isabella quickly reached out and stopped him.

"Can you bear to see a beautiful woman stranded in this rainy night, possibly being taken away by bad people? Please help me. Think about last night..."

A stunning face spoke with a pitiful tone, creating a discordant scene. "Get in the car!" Ethan walked away, furrowing his brows, and impatiently interrupted her.

Isabella smiled instantly. She walked around the front of the car and got into the passenger seat.

"Where are you going?" Ethan's voice came, and Isabella smiled and said, "To your place."

Ethan didn't say anything and started the car. Isabella wasn't skilled at driving; she had just gotten her driver's license at the age of eighteen and had already been in an accident. She always relied on Alexander to handle such matters. Well, she admitted it, she was a troublemaking young lady. Isabella lowered her head and sent a message to Alexander, asking him not to tell her grandparents.

Putting away her phone, Isabella looked at the man in the driver's seat. His clear profile came into view. At this moment, her mood improved slightly, but when she remembered what happened in the morning... "Ethan, why didn't you see me this morning?"

Ethan paused slightly. "Why should I see you?" he responded nonchalantly.

Isabella chuckled in anger. "Ah, it was quite enjoyable last night! You pulled up your pants and acted like you didn't recognize me. I didn't expect the mighty CEO to be like that."

"Isabella, what happened last night was consensual, and I already gave you a million dollars," Ethan said calmly, implying, what more could you want?

Just then, Isabella's phone rang. It was a call from Alexander, but she hung up without answering.

Alexander sent two messages:

[Isabella, where are you!]

[Are you okay?]

Isabella replied, [I'm fine, but my car is not.]

Putting away her phone, she looked at Ethan with an annoyed expression. "I don't want the money," she said.

After saying that, she took out the check from her bag and put it aside. "Do I need your twenty thousand dollars?"

Ethan frowned slightly, and out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at Isabella, a woman who was full of thorns and didn't know her place. He didn't like her at all!

Isabella couldn't wait for Ethan to ask her, "What do you want?" So she said directly, "I want you to be my boyfriend!"

With those words, Ethan stopped the car by the roadside and looked Isabella up and down. His expression seemed to say, "Are you dreaming?"

"Isabella, be sensible," he finally called her by name. Hearing that, Isabella finally asked, "How do you know my name?" They hadn't introduced themselves last night.

"Nathan is my friend."

Hearing that, Isabella became even more suspicious. "Who is Nathan?" The name sounded somewhat familiar, but she couldn't recall it for a moment.

"He's the CEO of the company you signed with."

Upon hearing that, Isabella suddenly realized, "Oh, he's my boss!"

But what did that have to do with Ethan knowing her name? Isabella didn't dwell on this question. Remembering her purpose in approaching Ethan, she brought up her company. "Let me be your girlfriend or give me another chance to audition. You choose one," Isabella said.

"Neither is possible," Ethan rejected without hesitation.

At this moment, Isabella grew even more furious. "Ethan, slept with the producer and got the role directly! And what about you? I just want another chance to audition, is that too much to ask?"

Ethan turned his head and looked at her face, and said word by word, "I asked the director to send me the video of your performance. Your acting is good, but your face doesn't fit the leading lady's image. Even if I give you another chance to audition, you won't pass."

After hearing this, Isabella's anger continued to rise.

"But there's a supporting role that suits you. Tomorrow, you can try out for that."

Isabella couldn't help but ask, "What's the character like for the supporting role?"

"Arrogance, rudeness, and malicious."

Damn it! Isabella was always proud. When she was in college, she would only perform if she could stand in the center. Moreover, it seemed like Ethan was mocking her. This conversation ended with Isabella angrily saying, "Impossible!" and then getting out of the car and slamming the door before walking away.

The sound of the door slamming reached Ethan again, and he furrowed his brows even more. He was growing increasingly doubtful. He really didn't like this woman's temper. Ethan suddenly regretted, under the influence of alcohol last night, he was enchanted by Isabella's face. Now, he just hoped that they wouldn't have any further encounters.
