I tried not to react. Not to show any emotion. It would be a weakness on my part if I showed too much concern. It would also arouse suspicion about who Bella was to me. I couldn't let anyone know that now. This was Isabella's first fight and I knew well enough she wasn't ready to face someone like Luna Crane. 'You need to relax,' I mind-linked her but no response came from her so I went closer to her. Before I could speak, I heard Duke's deadpanned voice, "No."
Just as expected, Luna Crane wasn't going to give up. "You are afraid she will die in her first fight?" She flaunted herself before the warriors, earning a few cheers. I couldn't comprehend her intention but I knew one thing for sure that she either wanted to hurt Bella badly or cause her extreme embarrassment. Either way, I knew I could trust Duke to handle it.
