20. Angel

Around nine in the evening, Brett Floyd came to the hollow wood. He met Romy, the ground guard, at the forest entrance gate.

“Evening, Mr. Floyd.” Romy greeted Brett politely. He averted Brett’s gaze.

“Evening,” Brett replied. He looked at the wild forest shortly and spoke again. “I presume nothing bad happened, right?”

“Yes. Everything is perfect, Mr. Floyd.” Romy let a lie slip out of his mouth. Besides two unregistered vampires that invaded the ground, nothing else happened. He believed the young vampire named Cristy would not do anything stupid.

“Very well. Let’s check the ground then.”

They strolled in the forest. Looking for the sign of the three hunters. The pungent smell of blood assaulted their senses as they got deeper into the woods. Several lifeless bodies were scattered on the damp soil. Brett paid no attention to those things, as it was expected to happen.
