Lex sighed and ate another apple before explaining. “The first time I was able to communicate with Aeden was when she looked into a mirror and saw my reflection. It scared her and she asked who the hell was I. At that point I realized I couldn't hear her thinking like I usually did and that she was actually talking to and seeing me. Since that time, we have talked to each other through a mirror. The first time Kar talked to Dean was also through a mirror, earlier today.”
“Oh.” Shex and Mera said. They looked as if they were fascinated and scared all at the same time.
“What's wrong?” Lex asked.
“Nothing.” They both said.
“Really? You know we can tell when you two are hiding something from us right?” Kar said.
“And that it upsets me when you do.” Lex added.
With a long look and a sigh Mera finally said, “There has been nothing in the Histories about being able to See your Other. We aren't even sure how they communicated with
Aeden had been married to Dean for 4 years now and yet she still found out new things about him every day. Their love was so strong it transcended worlds. But what they would soon find out was that their souls also transcended the universe but in a very different way; one that they could never have conceived of. They never thought this day would come, especially after everything that had happened. It was a miracle, wrapped in mystery, bundled in science. Life had taken a very different turn for them and the change, although a bit scary, was welcomed and treasured in the end. Four lives forever entwined, connected throughout time and space.
At the start, there was only Alexis. Like all of us, she had dreams. But she was just a girl. Not a princess, not a model, she wasn’t special. Only she was special. She just didn’t know it yet. Her parents were nice and so were her siblings. The only thing that made this girl stand out was that she got along with almost everyone. She was never rude unless provoked and never disliked anyone without good reason. In a word, she was Sweet. But in her world sweet didn’t get you very far, so she often went unnoticed. The girl didn’t mind though. Being left to herself meant she could do things like read, draw, and write. She loved to write. Though sometimes writing was something she had to do. You see the girls’ imagination was bright, colorful, and active, that often meant she had a hard time falling asleep. And every once in a while, her dreams would wake her up and the only way she could go back to sleep was if she wrote down what she had dreamt about. &n
Kar was watching TV and waiting for the weather report. But his mind was on Lex. More than usual he wished she would just tell him what was wrong. He really hated it when she kept things from him, but he understood. After all their years of friendship, how could he not understand her? She always had a purpose for what she did. Even when she didn’t even know what that purpose was. But that had always been her way. It still aggravated him though. Kar understood Lex better than anyone and she still wouldn’t talk to him. He knew all he would have to do was hint to her parents that something might be wrong and she would agree to talk to him to get them to leave her alone. But this time seemed different. This time Lex was deliberately keeping something from him. Why? She’s never kept something from everyone, least of all him
So, what now? Do I just let this keep going and wait for Kar to marry someone else or do I tell him how I feel and wait to see what he says? Lex was now more confused than ever and Kar was the last person she could go to about it. So, Lex did what she always does and put her journal down, shut off the light, and tried to go back to sleep. But this time it was different. She woke up as Aeden. “Can’t sleep again. God, I hate this. And I’m freaking sweating again, Dammit! What is going on?” So Aeden got up to check the thermostat. It was at 65, there was no reason for her to be this hot. And of course, Dean was bundled up. So, she knew for sur
“Well it’s about damn time.” She told her reflection. That was odd but at the same time very helpful. I think it’s time I talked to Kar. I miss him and well, Aeden said if he’s anything like Dean he’ll love me no matter what. Now to find something to wear. As Lex went through her clothes she didn’t hear the voices downstairs. Or the footsteps coming towards her room. Just as she was done washing she heard the light knock on her door. She called, to who she thought was her mother, to let her know she was dressing and would be out in a minute. The voice that responded startled Lex so much that she tripped and fell onto her bed with a very lou
Shex and Mera were outside and around the corner so they saw Lex and Kar leave together. They turned and smiled at each other, knowing that they would be alright. But they still needed to get to the Hall of Records so that they could research Lex’s dreams to find a connection between them and her energy drain. They talked amongst themselves and decided that they also needed to figure out if Kar was having dreams as well and if he was, why they weren’t draining his energy. At the Hall of Records, they searched for hours to find the right scrolls. Once they had it took another couple of hours to find the scroll that talked about the dreams. There were at least 6 different scrolls that mentioned the dreams and 12 more that went more into depth about the dreams and the dreamers. They decided to divide the scrolls that had the most information about the dreamers. Shex had the two that talked about the “Male Descendant” and Mera had the two that talked about the “Female Descendant
Lex and Kar didn’t notice their mothers or much of anything as they walked in silence. Lex was trying to figure out what to say to Kar and Kar was letting her figure it out. He owed her that much. He had been horrible to her and he needed to make it up to her. As he was thinking of ways to make her happy with him again an idea started to form. Maybe now was the time to tell her about his dreams and then she would share hers. It might make things better and show her that he does care for her. So instead of heading to the castle and the roof Kar changed directions and headed for the stables. Riding always made Lex relaxed and happy. Lex noticed Kar’s new direction and smiled to herself. He was taking her riding; he only did this when he wanted to talk without anyone else around. He would hopefully take her to her favorite spot. She missed being there with him. She had been there a few times without Kar and it just wasn’t the same. She could almost smell the grass, feel the wat
Well, this is it. You’ll finally get to learn how to fix a car. And not just any car, a 1964 ½ Ford Mustang, swoon. As she approached the garage door her hand shook a little. She had been dreaming of taking this class since she first saw a mustang. Having her dad fill her head with stories of fixing and racing sports cars himself only added to her longing to learn. It was a way to feel closer to him again. Upon walking through the door way, she noticed the Professor/Mechanic sitting at a desk full of parts. There were guys at different ends of the garage, all working on different projects. She looked at her course paperwork again to find the Professors name and then walked over to him.
