Chapter 10: Strange Dream

Katrina tried to hide Princess Ariya when the grandfather clock in the living room struck twelve. They stealthily crept downstairs to avoid Vince.

Upon arriving at the entrance door, the lights from the chandelier in the living room suddenly lit up. Vince's dark face made them almost jump to their feet.

"Young Master!" Katrina exclaimed in a whisper.

"Princess you must do something!" she talked to Princess Ariya in her mind.

The princess looked up at her before she shifted her stare at her brother.

Vince was slowly walking towards them.

"Didn't I tell you this morning, don't bring her to dangerous places? Katrina, where are you taking my sister?" he roared as he held Princess Ariya's soft hand and brought her closer to him. He was shocked by the softness of her hand that he glanced at his sister for a while.

"Go back to your room. Get to sleep. Forget what you saw tonight. Hurry! Have a sweet dream!" Princess Ariya was already talking to him in his mind using the siren power that she inherited from Sira.

At that time, Vince was like a robot who turned around and went upstairs without any noise. He also locked the door of his room and slept.

In his dream, he was in the wilderness. A misty forest of wild vines and old trees. He was alone but he could feel that he was surrounded by sharp eyes in the darkness.

He ran fast for his life when he saw a beautiful snow-white wolf chasing him.

The wolf's eyes were bluish purple. As he was about to fall, the white wolf caught him with its body and put him on its back. Then out of fear, he closed his eyes while he screamed and hugged the wolf's neck tight.

Even if Vince's eyes were completely shut, he knew well that they had jumped to the rocks and streams. The white wolf was almost flying but he didn't know why.

When he opened his eyes and looked over his shoulder, he saw humans with sharp fangs chasing them. They were as fast as a bolt of lightning. Their eyes were bloody red. They could also jump high just like the wolf.

"Vampires!" he screamed in his sleep.

In his dream, he talked to the white wolf. He was panting and shaking in fear and coldness.

"Hurry! They are near!"

Then when he looked ahead, he saw light. Light from the rising sun. The white wolf stopped from running and turned around.

When Vince glanced at the misty forest, the vampires were gone. He patted the white wolf fluffy fur and said,

"Thanks, beauty!"

The white wolf seemed to understand what he meant that it sat down to let Vince get off its back.

Upon getting off, he saw a thick fog that covered his savior. Then he also saw the fog carrying the white wolf away.

"Wait! Where are you taking it? Hey!" Vince tried to reach the white wolf paw but when he touched it, it turned into a human's hand.

Vince was shocked by what he saw, the white wolf was turning into a beautiful lady. As beautiful as no one could ever imagine and could ever describe.

When Vince stared deeply at her eyes, he recognized his sister.

"Arianna!" he exclaimed as his hand clasped hers.

"Goodbye, Vince!" Princess Ariya softly whispered before she disappeared.

"No! Wait! Arianna wait!" he was screaming his heart out in his bedroom.

His parents were so worried that they hastily ran towards his room. When they opened the door, they were flabbergasted with what they saw.

Their son was sweating in beads and lying on the floor.

"Vince, what happened?" Halley tapped her son's cheek.

"Mom, where is Arianna?" he was stunned as he got up and held his parents' hands.

"Your sister is eating breakfast downstairs!" Jon answered his anxious question.

Upon hearing that his sister was at the dining room, he ran in quick speed and strode straight to Arianna's seat.

"Vince, are you okay? What happened?" Halley and Jon were confused at their son's actions that they followed him immediately into the dining room.

When Vince saw Princess Ariya busy feeding her puppy, he carried her and hugged her tight at once.

Princess Ariya just stared at him nonchalantly.

"Don't you dare leave us!" he whispered.

"Did you hear me? Don't you dare go away!" he repeated louder.

"Where will I go?" Princess Ariya asked instead.

Both Jon and Halley were rendered speechless with what they had witnessed.

Vince seemed to realize the strange actions that he put his sister down and left in a haste.

"What a weird dream!" he exclaimed internally.

Instead of going back to his room, he took his car keys and drove away. He was just sixteen but he had a student license so he could drive anywhere he wanted.

Meanwhile, in the mansion...

Princess Ariya was hiding her smile while taking glances at Katrina from time to time. She was the one who brought Vince into the wilderness in his sleep. She showed him a little glimpse of her supernatural world.
