Chapter 34

LEONA'S POV

"Shhh." Darren slowly opens the door.

"Don't go out," I mouthed, but Darren was curious, "Dammit!"

I exclaimed quietly and went out. We heard a clanking sound of metal. It was the door lock. A breaking sound followed. I figured already that it was the vase near the door.

Darren rushed to the living room. I was about to grab his shirt to stop him, but he was fast. It took me by surprise.

I followed him. The main door was open. I ran out quickly and saw Darren chasing a guy heading to the stairs.

"Shit! Darren!" I chase him. When I got to the stairs, they were already far and on their way to the rooftop.

I ran fast and used the ability I learned from my pack. Darren caught the guy and grappled with him. He wanted to remove his mask to see his face, but the guy fought back.

"Darren!" I called.

"Go back inside!" Darren turned to me. The guy found a way to escape and, kicked him, proceeded to the rooftop. Darren didn't stop and pursue him.
