Emelda hurried back to the palace. She had taken a longer time than she had anticipated because Sasha was tensed and needed so much time to blow off the steam.

Sasha had gone on a long and hard run through the woods until she reached the back of the palace where the Alpha-making ceremony was being held. She had stopped at a small hill and she watched the ceremony from there.

She watched until she saw Darius pulling out another wolf’s heart from his chest. Sasha didn’t know who the wolf was and she couldn’t hear what was going on but the sight was so vicious that she shivered.

And then she shifted back to human form and ran back into the palace through the same tunnels that Lucius had led her out of.
