65. Just Pull The Trigger

Third Person's POV:

Mason relinquished his hold on Jeremy, the declaration of Isabel's love for him acting as a powerful antidote to the volatile rage that had consumed him moments ago. In contrast, Jeremy felt a profound sense of defeat as Isabel's words replayed in his mind, each syllable inflicting a fresh wave of disbelief and pain.

Isabel, however, harbored no remorse for using those words as a strategic shield to protect Jeremy from further harm. In that tumultuous moment, it seemed like the right thing to say, even if she didn't truly mean it. She couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sorrow for the injuries Jeremy had endured because of her.

"Let's go from here," Mason directed, seizing Isabel's wrist and leading her to his car. An uncomfortable silence enveloped them during the ride home, the atmosphere heavy with the aftermath of the brawl.
