Chapter 1

Jolene. 

"Jo!! Hurry up the bus will be leaving. And I will not be driving you to school today too" my mum yells from the stairs and I groaned 

"I know ma! I'm just fixing my hair" I yelled back, still looking in the mirror, trying to pull my hair into a ponytail.

"You've been 'fixing' your hair for the past 20 minutes"she replies and I know she is rolling her eyes at me right now.

I finished and stared at my face in the mirror. My blue eyes are shining like the sea, as my mom would say. My eyes and hair are in contrast. Blue eyes and black hair, not your typical combination. 

Today is cheer tryouts.

I've always wanted to be part of the cheer team since like forever. Watching the older girls in the pack and highschool,dressed in cheer outfit, flipping and dancing,it was fascinating to me.

I've always been the flexible one,I joined the gymnastics team in school and helped win a lot of medals.

But since I started highschool,I decided to try out the cheer team. I am flexible,I can do flips and I can dance. Or that is what I am thinking. I mean the dance part.

I used to practice in the backyard when no one was watching, copying their routines until my mom would call me with a dramatic flare.

But wanting something and actually going for it?

Two very different things.

I smooth my shirt down, exhaling slowly.

"Jolene Rachel Falls! Get your butt down here before I come there and drag you up myself" mom yells again from down stairs.

"I'm coming ma!" I grabbed my bag pack and slinged it on my shoulder before leaving my room and running downstairs.

I met her at the kitchen sipping her coffee and holding her work phone.

Ma may be in her late forties but she would pass as woman in her early twenties. Some say the were wolf gene is part but this is a miracle. 

She is slender with her green eyes and  blond hair. She looks like a victory secret angel,that is why everyone drools over her when she walks by. Dad is very overprotective of her and so are the rest of my older brothers. I have two by the way. I'm their only daughter. Mom's beauty has gotten me and my brothers out of alot of trouble in school.

I get why dad is still head over heels inlove with her till date,the mate bond is only a small part of it. Not that dad is ugly or anything. He is warrior,tall and bullet,he looked like a greek god and people say I'm a female version of him. I have his eyes and hair color. Although my brothers took one from each parent.

I grabbed a handful of blueberries and my lunch money.

"I'm going ma. See you in the afternoon" I kissed her cheeks 

"Be careful and stay out of trouble. I love you" 

"I love you too ma" I yell from outside and I hear her mutter something under her breath.

I don't have a car yet and my brothers are both in college,they are twins,so I won't have a ride if the bus leaves.

The morning air hits my face, cool and sharp, waking me up properly. I take off down the street just as the bus comes into view at the end of the block.

“Wait!” I wave, running faster.

The driver sighs but keeps the door open just long enough for me to jump on, breathless and laughing under my breath.

“Cutting it close again, Jolene,” he mutters.

“Wouldn’t be me if I didn’t,” I replied, flashing him a quick smile before moving down the aisle.

I immediately spotted my best friend at our usual spot. 

"Always the latecomer Jo" Jessica said as I sat by her. 

"You know so well. You didn't go with your brother" I asked simply but my inside says another thing. 

Seth King is the oldest child of the Alpha and Luna of this pack, Crove Pack. He is also the future alpha of this pack and Jessica's older brother. 

He has been my crush since I bumped into him in third grade when I was on a play date with Jess. 

He is such a heartthrob and every girl in the pack has a crush on him or has had a crush on him. 

But I just don't have a crush, I'm in love with him and secretly hoping I am his mate. He is only 17 and I'm 14 so we have a few years ahead. He'll be leaving for college soon since he is a senior and I'm just a freshman. 

But I still have faith that we are mates and we are going to be together. 

"Well you know how he is, with all his friends and girlfriend" she rolls her eyes. 

Oh I forgot, he is a complete Playboy, he changes his girlfriend almost every other week and has a reputation for himself. 

But it still doesn't deter me from falling for him more. 

"Ready for cheer tryouts??" She asks

"Ready as ever" I smiled with determination.
