The last time he had seen it, which was just a few hours ago before the hycwens attack, it had looked more like a scratch, but now it had deepened.
“Wait, Archon alpha.” There was an edge of desperation in his voice that made her stop dead in the tracks. She meant to ask what the issue was but she saw his ashen face looking at her feet and followed his gaze.
She looked at her feet curiously and then back at him, “I guess I got a new tattoo.” Valencia added offhandedly but Dominic closed the distance between them in three long strides and held her hand.
“We have to go to the mage and meet him right now.”
Valencia pulled her hand away from his grip and shouted, “Sarah is missing, do you understand that? I’m not going anywhere until I find her.”

After Mark had said those words, the entire hall fell eerily silent. Never had the judgment of the archon alpha been challenged and never had someone spoken it out loud in a room full of werewolves.
