“That bastard! Who does he think he is!” I growled tearing the herbs mercilessly.
Last night was a bit hectic for me. Despite all the fun that was presented at the courtyard. My body felt restless and out of place. The ground swayed underneath me, causing everything that I was having fun with to start appearing odd. I had to tell Derek that I needed air. Only to come out to find Calvin being held down by a kiss from Arya.
<Calvin“no information still?” I barked at the patrol teams and the pack warriors that I had sent on the search for Clara. We have been up all day and through the night searching the entire pack for her. I haven't been able to sleep a wink.Derek stepped forward with a downcast expression. “I am sorry, Calvin. But there is no trace of Clara in the pack.”“Not even her scent?” Lena inquired.“I am just as surprised as you are. There is no sign at all. We are lost as it stands.” He replied.I held my head, cursing under my breath. How the hell did I allow this to happen? “Do you think she is really lost?” I questioned. The head of the patrol team, Josh, stepped forward. “Lost is not the word, your majesty. I think
Calvin“Hey, man. Why didn’t you answer the call at first?” Derek questioned from the speaker.I turned the car on the road that leads to the outskirt of the pack. “I was shopping.”He snickered. “Shopping? Did you finally lose your mind?”I rolled my eyes, grinning. “I don’t expect you to understand. Anyway, I went to get some things to give Clara. That is if she doesn’t smack my face with it.”“Clara? Does this mean you two are finally going to reconcile? What happened? What changed your mind?”“I thought that was the plan; for me to change my mind?”He cackled into the receiver. “My goodness! This is such a good news. I am glad you
CalvinA tired exhale escaped my lips as I stared into the night. The moon is all out in its glory. I wish I could feel just as bright as that. But my entire world feels so gloomy I do not see any other way out of it. My heart is shattered and it feels as if I would fall apart if I continue this way. To avoid thinking, I buried myself in work. Drinking alcohol like it is some new found joy giver just to get myself to sleep. Not even the hard work through the day makes me any better.I hate that I miss Clara and I wonder how she might be doing. Different times I had thought about driving down to the cabin since I know where it is, just to get a glimpse of her. But I know I would be betraying myself if I indulge in such thing. She stabbed me where it hurts the most. It is only right that I stay away from her to protect myself. I don’t want to be mocked. Such painful memory would stick to one like
Author’s POVLena let out a tired huff, throwing herself into the bed. She felt exhausted even though she did nothing. Her mind went back to Clara, hoping she was fine. Even though she is doing her best to hide it. Anyone with eyes can tell that Clara is sad and burdened by her situation. Anyone in her shoes would be like that. She can’t start to imagine the pain she carried. If there is anything Lena can do better to make her friend feel good, she would not hesitate to do it.Her phone rang loudly while she was lost in thought. A bright smile settled on her face when the caller turned out to be her mother. Answering the phone, Lena beamed brightly.“Hi, mum.”“My baby, how are you, Lena?” Amelia inquired on the other end. Her face fills up the phone screen.
Clara“How are you feeling today?” Lena asked as she arranged the plates on the kitchen island.“A bit better,” I replied settling on the stool.I had woken up quite exhausted. As if that wasn’t enough, all the food that I ate came back up my throat. I puked about three times before my stomach eventually settled. I don’t know, but it seems like the pregnancy symptoms that had hidden themselves in the first weeks of conception suddenly have the urge to show themselves to me. Morning sickness has become something that I am forced to mention because it is the only thing I am forced to experience now. Thanks to Janet’s herbs, I might have become a shadow of myself.“Are you sure you don’t need to rest more?” She inquired.“No, I think I
ClaraI woke up to some noises coming from the other room. My lashes fluttered open as I looked around the room confused on where I was. I don’t remember coming into the room last night. I had been so perturbed that i couldn’t move from the spot I sat in. I dragged myself out of the bed and stood still in concern that some strangers had found themselves into the house. The voice heard wasn’t that of one person. Went into the bathroom to wash my face first, my brain was too slow to catch up on everything happening. I eventually had the guts to peek from the door the strangers in the house.“hey you, stop peeking from there and come out here.” lena called out to me.I gasped in relief as I opened the door wider to find Janet, Derek and Lena in the kitchen. “you all are here?”“good morning, clara. Ho
Clara“Come on.” Lena urged me towards the dining room.I entered cautiously, my hand unconsciously pressing down the lines on the dress I had on. My heart thumped so hard, I was forced to caress the chest slightly for the fear of having a hea
ClaraA light gasp escaped my lips at the splash of cold water on my face. I can’t believe I slept in all night until noon. I must have been too tired and must have enjoyed the comfort the bed provided after a long time. Dinner last night made me feel like I might like it here, but I
Author’s POV“What?” Derek spat out the juice in his mouth. He wiped off the stain on his mouth quickly. “Why the hell would you do that?”Lena huffed, flipping her hair. “I don’t know that was just the first thing that came to my mind to sa
Calvin“what did you find about the lady?” I asked Derek with my eyes fixated on the file in front of me.He smacked his lips. “I think she is cool.”“I do not remember asking you that.”&nbs
