A mess called life

Xylan wanted to disregard the information because why would her father be so cruel?

It seemed to be one expensive joke she Jahr didn’t find a way to accept.

She just got rejected and was still trying to brush off the humiliating pain but the next action was to get her married?

Her life was a mess and it was ruined and now they didn’t even let her sober up before imposing marriage on her?

She saw this all as a scheme from Corrine  because she knew she could go head over heels just to make sure she made her life as miserable as possible.

“I decline this marriage,I do not want to be a burden to anyone anymore and to be humiliated over and over again. Just leave me to myself, I plead. I won’t disturb you for anything but I just don’t want to get married and at least not now.” Xylan said, trying her best to hold back tears.

She tried to reason with her father but his expression didn’t look like he was even going to listen to anything she had to say.

She tried to erase the rejection scene from her mind but it  kept on replaying in her head over and over again.

“This is not a decision for you to make. I make the decisions and it's good you know that you have been a burden  to me. You tend to bring shame to me and I won't keep you in my house any longer.” He said in a tone of finality.

He barely even raised his eyes at her,his eyes were glued at the  screen in front of him.

It could be said Corinne had something to do with it because she has never  liked Xylan for one thing or the other.

She was a burden and found her to be an annoying threat so she didn’t mind it if she was gone.

“But dad….” She tried to say something but was abruptly Interrupted by Corrine.

“Hush it,don’t be ungrateful now. You know that you actually don’t  deserve this or anything good at all. Your dad went out of his way just  to make sure you don’t die single. He is a prime minister, he can't have you around, always causing trouble and bringing shame to his name.” She said hoarsely with her eyes shooting daggers at Xylan.

“He is a perfect match for you, your qualities are equal and they relate so he’s the one for you.” Corrine added which only infuriated Xylan the more.

Xylan ignored her glares and persisted to talk to her father like abs didn’t hear anything Corrine just said.

“I don’t even know the prince you speak about, and marriage is not the next thing for me. I am going through a lot right now and I refuse to get married.” Xylan retorted and this time she couldn’t fight back tears.

Tears fell freely from her eyes and she immediately wiped it off. If there was one thing she would never do,it would be crying in front of her stepmother.

“I have already made up my mind, and if you don’t want it done with ease then I might have to use force. Don’t be ungrateful, you should be thanking your stars you even got someone.” He said in a remarkable and hoarse tone that sent Xylan  aback .

He heaved a long sigh and continued working on his laptop, while Corrine sat there with a smile plastered on her face.

Xylan knew this would be all her idea because she would want to get rid of her as soon as she could.

“You may leave.” Corrine finally uttered out, noticing Xylan still there hoping to get her father’s attention.

Xylan knew there was no change for her,at least she knew there was no hope for her when Corrine was there.

Corrine was going to see that her father didn’t change his decision. As long as she was involved Xylan would always be a burden to the family.

Xylan wiped her tears and left the study and turned immediately to leave after giving Corrine a cold glare.

Corrine however scoffed and watched her leave.

She ran into her room and shut the door hard behind her,she  proceeded to use keys to make sure no one came in to see her.

She couldn’t help herself from crying bitterly.

Hee whole life had been a mess and nothing more, she has been regarded as a useless liability and nothing more.

Just when she thought things were going to be good for her since she has a mate but it dawned on her how big of a failure she was.

Her life was so miserable and everyone knew how miserable it was.

She would have to get married to someone she has no knowledge about just so she won’t be a burden to her dad anymore.

The whole world probably knew how she was rejected because it was all online and that officially means never ending shame.

She stood up and walked to the mirror, she knew it wasn't like she was the prettiest lady in the clown but she was not ugly .

She was just useless and never made any good impact on anyone, just like her stepmom said they were getting her married to a prince who was also proclaimed as a useless being.

“Haaaaa, why do you have to be so unfortunate?” She yelled at her reflection on the mirror.

Her face was pale and her eyes were very sore. She has been crying too much for the past few days and it didn’t leave a good mark on her.

She gently rubbed her face and tried to read her own emotions through her reflection. She didn’t deserve everything that was happening to her because it wasn’t her fault she was who she was.

But in places like this her name defines her and unfortunately for her it termed her ‘useless’.”
