Dante's POV

This was all I’ve ever dreamed of, right here. I didn’t have to worry anymore. I was at peace.

I stared at Christopher sleeping. He was still newly turned, so he did still have to sleep, especially in his new years.

Watching him lying there, looking so beautiful and so mine, was like a reward I didn’t deserve but had chosen for myself anyway.

I was grateful everything had turned out the way it did because it meant that I found him.

I found the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and even after that.

I was grateful for this.

Everyone who could possibly harm or oppose us was dead. I had him exactly where I wanted him: right here in my bed. And I’d have him this way for a very long time to come.

I would let him sleep for now and come back to wake him later.
