Chapter eight

"A hunter? A hunter that hunts animals , that's normal, I mean he does look like he could do that for sports. I mean if he hunts us , what is animal to him that he wouldn't hu...."

"My love, let me explain how it all happened" Juilliard stopped his wife from rambling. It was a hard truth for him to also come to terms with when he found out............

Two years ago........

"I have to quickly get to Richard to discuss the cement contract. So I would know if to involve him during the meeting or not. .... Where are my car keys? Crystal" Juilliard shouted his wife's name. 

"My love, have you seen my keys anywhere?"

"Yes darling, check the dining table."

'Why in heaven's name would I put my keys in the dining room?' Just in time , Juilliard saw his keys. 'Wow they are really here.' Julliard took his keys and headed to his car. 

He opened his Honda CR-V and entered. He started driving to his brother's house.

After about thirty minutes of driving, he finally got to his brother's house. He quickly parked , got down and went to knock on the door. After knocking for a while and yet no response, he decided to try if the door was opened and alas it was. He went in , heading straight for his brother's room with the mindset that his brother Richard was still sleeping.

He was already fuming that how could his brother still be asleep despite them having an important meeting. He was about to climb the stairs before he heard voices in the kitchen.

'Oh , so he's eating, he could at least pick his phone or answer his door.'

"I just found out the location of the werewolves sir"

'Werewolves? What did he mean by that? Everyone knows those are just myths.'

"Very good. We would attack them at dawn tomorrow when they are just waking up. Ensure to get silver bullets and soak them in wolfsbane." Richard said with all seriousness. He always kept a straight face when talking to his subordinates.

'Wolfsbane? Silver bullet? What's going on , is Richard in some kind of trouble?"

"Okay boss" the five men present with Richard chorused . They proceeded to leave and Julliard quickly hid behind a shelf.

' I'm going to follow them tomorrow. I need to know if werewolves actually exist.' Juilliard waited for a while for them to leave and he silently went back to the car. Luckily he didn't park in front of his brother's house but rather a few houses down .

He called Richard again and this time his brother picked. "Hey, good morning Richard, I've been calling you since forever."

"Sorry bro, I was occupied with something. When is the meeting with the cement company?" 

" It's today , in the next hour in fact. Should I be expecting you?"

" Yes brother, you will see me very soon".

" Good then. " He cut the call and started his car and drove to his office.

The meeting went as expected and they won the contract. He motioned to his brother to wait after the meeting.

" Hey bro, are you free tomorrow morning?"

"Nahh , I'll be preoccupied. Why is something the matter?"

"Not at all . I just wanted you to go for a drive."

Richard laughed out and said," We should actually do that one of these days. It's been a while."

Juilliard smiled and nodded . They both left the conference room.

' I wonder what time tomorrow at dawn , maybe I'll go to his place at five and follow them. '

The next day , Juilliard left his house as early as 4:30 am . He packed a few houses down as usual and went to hide . 

Richard and his men came outside at five am and proceeded to start their mission. Luckily for Julliard, Richard and his men went on foot because the pack they were going to attack was nearby.

Richard and his men , fifty in total , went into the pack house and started killing the members. Some of the wolf's shape shifted into werewolves. 

Juilliard who was watching the whole scenario was in complete shock. Normal men and women who would have been completely taken for normal humans were transforming into wolves . Werewolves actually existed. All of a sudden he was hit on the head with a sharp object and blacked out.

Juilliard woke up with a very terrible headache. 'Where am I?' 

He was on a well made bed in a big room . He looked around and tried getting up. Then he heard voices that belonged to his brother.

'But if this is one of his houses then how come I've never been here before or even know of this place? Or is this one of his hideouts?'. He heard footsteps coming nearer and he pretended he was still unconscious.

"He's still out," Richard said with frustration. Not that he loved his brother very much, he just wanted to know how much his brother knew.

" Keep a close eye on him , once he wakes up let me know." 

" Yes boss".

'How much did Juilliard know ? Now he knows about werewolves but does he know about him being a hunter ? Since when did he find out about wolves ? Does he know about vampires?'. 

There were so many unanswered questions on Richard's mind. He really needed his brother to wake and clear his thoughts.

After five minutes Julliard decided to stand up, he was getting tired of pretending to be unconscious. 

"You're finally awake Mr Julliard."

"Where am I? And who are you?"

"You'll know very soon. Give me a minute"

'I assume he wants to call Richard'. As assumed by Julliard, I'm less than a minute Richard appeared at the door.

"Juilliard you're finally awake. Do you remember anything that happened before you blacked out?"

'Oh right, should he say he didn't remember anything, or should he plainly ask him about the things he found out?'. He decided to go with the latter. 

"I remember everything Richard. What happened back there? Who were those people? They turned into animals , more like wolves. How did you know about them? Are you working for the government?"

Richard motioned for his men to give him and his brother space. The men all left the room and closed the door.

" You shouldn't have known all these things. Tell me how you found out and how long you have known about this matter."

" I found out yesterday, "

" Yesterday? "

" Yes , yesterday when I came over to your house. I came to ask you about the contract but overheard you and your men talking about werewolves. How did you find out about them?"

" It's a long story but first you need to rest. You should get enough rest so you don't have a headache later. Someone would come with food and a drink now. 

Back to the present....

"Wait a minute" Crystal sat up facing her husband. "You mean two years ago , you stumbled into a slaughter of men and women who are wolves and you didn't tell me anything about it?" Crystal didn't know if to be angry or not. Why would her husband keep such a huge sever from her. Werewolves, vampires? Does that mean all the myths are true?"

" I had my reasons for not telling you, infact I couldn't even if I wanted to,"

" And why not?, "

" Because Richard threatened me."

" Threatened you? How? "

" I'll tell you the rest tomorrow but for now , we need to sleep." " Okay love, let's go to sleep then, but you all will tell me all about it tomorrow."

" Definitely my love , I will".

Seth was in his room thinking about what his parents told him. 'They would die soon ? But why would uncle Richard try to kill them? What could be so bad that they couldn't resolve it between them like adults? I don't want to lose my parents, is there anything I can do to help? Dad would definitely not permit me but mum should. But still what do I even know is going on?'.

The thoughts were endless in his mind. He slept off while thinking about how to help his parents and had a dream.

He was going to school as usual . He was about to enter his lecture hall when he saw a very beautiful lady get down from a blue Ferrari. Her silk black hair made her so attractive. He was struck by her beauty and decided to summon courage to meet her .

"Hello, I'm Seth, I just wanted to let you know , you're really beautiful." 

" Oh really? Thank you very much then. Do you want my number then?"

" Oh no, I just wanted to compliment your beauty. Have a nice day." Seth left with a smiling face but left the lady stunned.

Although he wanted to talk to her more , he knew if he kept talking she might wash him off as one of those guys who disturb numbers, but if he left her hanging she would keep thinking about him. It has always been effective.

He had his classes and during lunch break , he met the same lady at the cafeteria again.

"Oh hi , we meet again" suddenly he heard someone calling his name . He kept looking around for who it might be and he woke up from his dream.
