CARTER POV

I nod as he then leaves, locking the door behind him. I wait and listen; I look at Isabella and she seems to be doing the same. Once Santiago is out of hearing range, she seems to collapse on a sigh. I move quickly and catch her before she hits the floor. I sit her on the floor carefully. However, once she realises that I have my hands on her, she starts to struggle. I smile but let her go and move away from her, saying,

"I won't hurt you Isabella and I don't plan on touching you either... At least not until I have to!"

She looks at me confused and says softly,

"Who are you? How did you convince him to allow you in here with me?"

"My name is Carter and I am a friend of Ryker's..."

It is then that I hear a small whimpered cry, and it comes from the corner, not in front of me, so I know it isn't from Isabella.
