THIRTY-NINE

SCARLETT POV

I drift in and out of consciousness. I hear the odd voice, but I can't focus on them. I catch some things here and there.

"She is extremely malnourished... She seems to be a vampire... We will need to be careful when she wakes... I've got her on an IV drip of blood, nutrients and antibiotics.."

"Will she survive? Will she wake?"

"At the moment she is stable, so there is a good possibility that she will survive, but it looks like she has been through a lot, so it is up to her, and whether she still has the will to continue. Alpha." I shiver as darkness takes me again.

I slowly open my eyes a few hours later but close them again as I am blinded by the bright light. I then hear a soft female's voice.

"I'm sorry, here let me turn them down."
