Chapter-1 Nightmare

Devon's point of view

"Can you tell me who you are?" I inquired of the girl. To whom I was following. Her face was blurry as she continued to trek through the forest's undergrowth. I tried to grab her wrist, but she swerved away from me once more. I gripped her waist as she came to a halt and spun her around. She transforms into a twenty-foot-long enormous Werewolf and attacks me with her mouth open. I became afraid of her and stubbed my toes. I fall off the cliff screaming for rescue before she can catch me. "Devon, Devon," said a voice, jolting me back to reality and jolting me out of my nightmare. I took a big breath and exhaled slowly, knowing it wasn't true. "You had the same dream again," Stacy chuckled as she ruffled my hair.

"It wasn't a dream, but a nightmare all over again."

"I recall, yeah, You spotted a female walking through the woods, but her face was fuzzy blah blah," she mockingly said. This nightmare has been brewing since I turned eighteen. The meaning of this nightmare is only known to God.

"I'm delighted any girl showed up in your dream. Sometimes I'm not sure if you like a girl or not," she said, her finger on her mouth to keep her chuckle in check. I shrugged my shoulders and got up from the sofa.

"Oh, please shut up."

"As you are busy with work and have never had any friends save me," Stacy frowned.

I poked her in the cheek and pulled out my laptop to finish my office job.

"I hope I'll just be in your life as your life partner," she says, her smile fading.

"You know how much I despise love. We’re getting married just for my parents' sake,” I moaned sadly. Though my remarks may be hurtful to her, they are completely accurate.

"I remember it very clearly," she said with a little smile on her face. We exited my office and proceeded to the living room. My mother, Krystle, is serving dinner to my father. Johnson, Twen's and Stary's father.

"Good morning, Devon and Stacy," Mom said placing a glass of juice in front of me.

"We were talking about your engagement at tomorrow's party," my dad Twen said.

"Oh," I replied, uninterestedly nodding my head and taking a seat in the chair. Everyone was talking about the celebration, but my thoughts were clouded by my nightmare. It's not just in my nightmares; I've also heard the same voices screaming my name.

"Devon, we'll leave for the farmhouse in an hour," mum replied, interrupting my thoughts.

"All right, mom," I answered.

Later, we all sat in various Mercedes models and began our journey to the property. In my car, Reed, my younger brother, Stacy, and I were. They were both preoccupied with discussing the party, drinks, and their buddies. I shifted my gaze to the window, allowing the cool breeze to caress my skin.

"Devon, I'm coming," a beautiful voice said, drawing my attention. My eyes searched the area for the owner of the voice, but no one was there.

"Devon, look," Stacy cried in a high-pitched yell.

I shifted my focus back to the road in a split second, applied the brakes, and saw that the cat had been hit by my car. We got out of the car and walked over to the cat. It was drenched in blood and dead on the ground. My stomach twisted and my heart hurt, making me feel like I was going to puke.

"Devon, relaxed my brother. It was just a cat, after all," Reed rubbed my back and motioned for me to take a seat in the rear seat.

We went to our room for rest as soon as we arrived at the farmhouse. My thoughts was still muddled by the death of the cat, which made me feel awful. I took a big breath and sat down in my bed, attempting to sleep. However, I heard the same voice once more.

"Devon, come with me." I didn't hesitate and began following the voice. When I arrived in the forest, it reminded me of my nightmares. The thing that stunned me the most and caused my heart to stop for a few seconds was seeing the same dead cat pacing around in a circle under a tree and staring at me. I'm not sure how that cat got in here. Then, from behind me, came a hissing voice. As I spun around, my heart pounded in my chest. There was the same golden Werewolf. The Werewolf was moving towards me as I quickly took a few steps back. Though I was terrified as my worst dread came true, I summoned all of my courage and began running away from the Werewolf. It caused me to come to a halt on the same ground, just above the edge.

”why are you doing this to me”, I murmured. It snarled and barked, revealing her teeth. It was approaching me at a high rate and was about to assault. I tripped and yelled for help.

I was on the verge of falling off the cliff and had to grab the edge to keep from falling.

When a gentle hand caught my wrist and tightened her grip, I was startled. A wonderful musical voice urged, "Push yourself up."

I pushed myself higher while keeping my feet firmly planted on the rock. Then, with the other hand, I climbed back to the ground. I breathed a sigh of relief and turned away from the girl. Her long hair tongs fell over her face, framing her lovely brown eyes. Her lips were cherry pink, and her nose was pointed.

"Are you all right?" she asked, waving her hands in front of my face. With embarrassment, I scratched the base of my neck. "Umm. Yes, I'm fine.”

"How did you get there?" she asked, furrowing her perfectly formed brows.

"A massive Werewolf was going to attack me, causing my feet to slip down the cliff. Thank you for rescuing me."

She chuckled, her palm resting on her lips.

"I'm sorry, but I believe you're walking in a dream. I’ve never seen a huge Werewolf in my life because I used to live nearby."

Perhaps she is correct; if the Werewolf had been here, she would have seen it. My dreams are becoming so vivid and real that I'm having trouble picturing them.

"Thank you for helping me."

"Can you tell me your name?" I inquired, my gaze drawn to her light brown eyes.

"My name is Amethyst," she said, flashing a gorgeous smile that made me feel entranced.
