Chapter 4

Yvonne’s Pov

My arrival at the Silvercrest territory felt like entering an entirely different world. The estate was enormous, sprawling across thousands of acres of pristine mountain forest.

Elite warriors lined the perimeter, and the security grid was unlike anything I had ever seen in the Darkmoon Pack.

I was immediately brought into a lavish, private wing prepared specifically for me and my babies.

Yet, despite the sudden wealth surrounding me, I could not stop feeling like an intruder.

I had spent my entire life believing I belonged nowhere, that I was just an unloved Omega meant to take up as little space as possible.

Now, I was suddenly being told that I was an heiress, a princess and the missing daughter of a legendary Alpha dynasty. The change was almost too overwhelming to process.

My mother, Luna Elara, refused to leave my side for even a second.

As I rested on the plush bed, she gently held my hands, her tear-filled eyes studying every mark on my body.

She traced the faded bruises on my wrists, the old scars from my years of forced labor, and the surgical marks left by my neglected delivery.

She realized that while her daughter had survived eighteen years of separation, she had not survived unharmed.

My father reacted with a terrifying, icy silence. The deep, heavy quiet radiating from him was far scarier than any angry roar.

He immediately ordered a full, unrestricted intelligence operation into my past, demanding every detail of my life under Ronan’s roof.

My three older brothers responded to my return in three completely different ways.

Gideon, the eldest and the heir apparent, immediately became obsessed with retribution. He spent hours in the tactical room, demanding names, locations, and evidence regarding every single person who had ever raised a hand against me.

Julian, the second brother, was the analytical strategist. He threw himself into investigating my disappearance eighteen years ago, tearing through my childhood records, my medical history, and my connection to the Darkmoon Pack to uncover every unexplained anomaly.

Leo, the youngest, focused almost entirely on the twins.

He became fiercely attached to them the moment he saw them. He spent hours sitting beside their high-tech medical incubators, gently speaking to them and watching their tiny silver-white eyes flutter open.

For the first time in my life, I saw what it felt like to have people care about my children simply because they were mine.

Nobody was trying to use them as leverage against me. Nobody threatened to steal them away. Nobody treated them like bargaining chips.

As the days passed, I began allowing myself to slowly believe that this family might actually be mine.

Then, Julian uncovered something deeply disturbing.

My childhood records contained glaring inconsistencies.

My original birth date had been altered by two years, my medical history was entirely falsified, and the name of the Omega woman who had supposedly raised me did not appear in any legitimate Pack registry.

Even the small village where I had allegedly grown up lacked basic census data.

Someone had deliberately erased my past. Someone had meticulously manufactured a false identity to hide me as an obscure Omega.

Julian dug deeper and discovered an even more unsettling detail: the woman who had raised me had once worked in a small border territory connected directly to the Silvercrest Pack. She had vanished without a trace shortly after I was stolen as an infant.

While my brothers tore apart the mystery of my past, Ronan received an official, mandatory summons from the Silvercrest High Council.

He arrived at the estate believing the invitation was an opportunity to exert control.

Because he was an Alpha, he assumed I was frightened, overwhelmed, and desperate to run back to him. He was convinced that our fated mating bond would draw me straight back into his arms.

He even brought Celeste with him. She strutted through the marble halls of the estate wearing a confident smile, fully expecting to be acknowledged as the future Luna of the Darkmoon Pack.

Instead, she walked straight into a political nightmare.

When the massive wooden doors of the grand hall swung open, Ronan stepped inside, fully prepared to demand my return. But the words caught in his throat the moment his eyes landed on me.

I was standing beside my parents at the head of the raised dais. I was no longer wearing the faded, oversized clothes of a neglected Darkmoon Omega.

I was dressed in elegant silver robes, proudly displaying the Silvercrest crest over my heart.

My father stood right behind me like an immovable wall, while my three brothers flanked my sides, their powerful Alpha aura filling the hall. At the edge of the room, two dozen elite Silvercrest warriors stood guard over my twins' mobile medical units.

The truth hit Ronan like a physical blow. The color completely drained from his face as his eyes widened in sheer shock.

The woman he had repeatedly called politically useless was the missing Silvercrest heiress. The nameless Omega he had left to suffer on a cold hospital floor was now one of the most powerful and sought-after women in the supernatural world.

His composure shattered entirely when my father formally announced to the court that my twins had been officially recognized as direct heirs to the Silvercrest bloodline.

Beside him, Celeste’s jaw dropped. She realized in a single, agonizing second that the high status, power, and prestige she believed she was about to inherit had vanished into thin air.

The visiting Darkmoon pack members who had spent years mocking me were now staring at me in absolute terror.

Ronan stood frozen, forced to confront the catastrophic consequences of his own arrogance.

He took a step toward me, his voice trembling. "Yvonne..."

I did not look for his approval. I did not beg for an explanation. I did not move an inch toward him.

Instead, I looked him dead in the eye and spoke with a calm, unwavering authority that echoed through the marble hall. "I demand that our formal bond rejection ceremony be scheduled for tomorrow morning. I want every tie between us severed completely."

Ronan was visibly shaken, his chest heaving as he stared at me. Yet, beneath his panic, a dangerous flicker of arrogance remained. He still believed I would break down the moment the painful bond-severing ritual began. He did not understand that the broken girl he thought he owned had already died on that hospital floor.

She had no intention of ever breaking again.

**

Late that night, I lay peacefully in my private quarters, listening to the soft, rhythmic breathing of my twins sleeping soundly in their cribs beside my bed.

Suddenly, my eyes snapped open and the air in the room grew unnaturally cold, and the subtle, prickling sensation of someone watching me raised the hairs on my neck.

I gasped as a sharp, burning heat flared across my palm. A glowing, silver-white mark flared briefly against my skin before fading away.

Before I could call out for the guards, my awakened wolf forced a terrifying, vivid vision straight into my mind: A pitch-black room. The frantic, high-pitched crying of my newborn babies.

A polished silver pendant swinging slowly in the dark. And an unknown, gloved hand reaching out into the crib toward my children.

She had probably worn the dress expecting to walk out of this ceremony one step closer to becoming Darkmoon’s next Luna.Instead, her supposed alpha had bolted off at the sign of his children missing without saying a single word at her.Now nobody was even looking at her, Every eye in the chamber had turned towards my family instead as we walked backed to the raised dais.“SilverCrest security was compromised from inside.” An older alpha was saying to the man beside him. Chapter 6 Yvonne pov “Lockdown! Seal every exit now! Every staff member in the main hall in the next two minutes!” Julian's voice cut through the estate loudly, sending cold chills down almost everyone. This is the first time I'll be hearing him speak this way. He didn't sound like the usual composed strategist who usually spent hours staring at files. He sounded different, something almost close to panic. The guards moved in all directions, their boots pounding heavily against the tiled marble floor. Somewhere down the hall, one of the staff muffled sobs carried through the hall. She probably didn't understand what was happening yet but knew something terrible had happened. I stood in the middle of the room, still in my silver ceremonial robes, my body frozen in shock, my mind refusing to process the empty cribs right in front of me. “Yvonne.” I felt my mother's warm hands closed around my shoulders, turning me to face her properly. I had to dress carefully, so I picked out a fitted, silver-embroidered gown that bore the royal mark of the Silvercrest Pack across the lapel. I dressed for myself because I wanted the woman who entered that Council chamber to bear no resemblance to the frightened, desperate Omega who had once begged her mate for a crumb of affection. My family accompanied me down the grand marble hallway. My father walked with the terrifying, majestic authority of the Silvercrest Alpha, while my mother held her head high at his side. The hospital had suddenly become tense, charged with an uncomfortable, vibrating energy. The Healer hurried past my room, looking pale and thoroughly frightened.Nobody explained anything to me.At first, I assumed the worst. My body felt hollow, my arms trembled with utter weakness, and every ragged breath reminded me that I had nearly died bringing my babies into the world. The moment I opened my eyes, the Healer walked into the room."Where are my children?" I asked, my voice cracking. "Are they alright?""Both are alive, Yvonne," he assured me, adjusting my IV line. "They remain in incubators because they are too small and fragile to survive without medical assistance, but they are fighters."Relief washed over me. "I need to see them. Please, help me get up."Before I could swing my legs off the bed, the door swung open and Ronan's assistant, Thomas, stepped inside carrying a thick leather folder. For one foolish second, I believed Ronan had finally changed his mind. Then Thomas opened the folder and held out a set of legal papers."Sign these," Thomas said without a trace of sympathy.
