Troy has been hanging around Calian’s group for the past couple of days, mingling and trying her best to feel socially involved.

Calian hasn't been awkward at all.

There has been no mention of the kiss, which makes sense since it wasn't really supposed to be romantic anyway. Trish has been joining in as well, which meant they had to stop talking about wolf stuff whenever she was around completely.

Sitting with the group now on the courtyard grass, Trish mentions she has to head out to hockey

Troy sits inside the bathroom stall, her fingers trembling so badly she has to rewrite the same sentence three times before the words finally make sense.I need to see you. It’s urgent. She stares at the message for one long second before pressing send. Then she waits. And waits. Her leg bounces uncontrollably under her short checkered skirt while the noise from the hallway outside completely quiets down. By the sound of it, everyone else is already in class. No more students laughing. No chairs scraping. A heavy, absolute silence settles over the room, somehow making the panic clawing at her chest feel worse. Finally, her phone buzzes against her palm. What’s wrong? Her fingers fly over the glowing screen.Where are you?A moment later:Just stepped into class. You?Come to the bathroom on the left of the dining hall. Now.The typing bubble appears immediately. Then it disappears. And appears again. Finally: Hold on.Troy presses both hands over her face, letting out a ragged breath.

There has been no mention of the kiss, which makes sense since it wasn't really supposed to be romantic anyway. Trish has been joining in as well, which meant they had to stop talking about wolf stuff whenever she was around completely.Sitting with the group now on the courtyard grass, Trish mentions she has to head out to hockey practice so that she won't be joining them for a couple of days. The moment Trish moves away out of earshot, Troy slides closer, sitting down next to Calian. “Are you planning on telling her?”Calian glances toward Trish’s retreating form. “Why would I do that? That's too risky.”“Yeah, I get it. But she’s really into you, I think.”“Well, I'm not an ideal person to get hung up on, obviously.” He turns his green eyes back to Troy.“Did you… the other night?” Troy probes, lowering her voice.“Wha

Dorian's eyes trace over Troy. He has been awake for quite a while, but it has taken him all this time to decide whether to move. Her hand rests over his abs, just inches from his pants. And from time to time she moves her fingers, sliding them, feeling perhaps. Her hand moves. Lower. Over his dickDorian stops thinking entirely, and he turns hard, instantly.Unable to get himself to move her hand, he just lets it happen. And he doesn't feel guilty about it.She moans softly in her sleep.Fuck… It's unbearable. Then, her eyes finally flutter open, and an immediate frown settles on her still unfocused eyes. In an instant, she sits up straight so fast the linen wraps around her legs, dragging it from him.Dorian smiles sweetly.“Morning.”“What the hell?” She says with a deeply puzzled look settling in her eyes.“You're pretty when you sleep.” Dorian drawls.“Dorian.” But she quickly looks at the clothes that she is wearing: the oversized shirt, his underwear on her. Her eyes shoot up

Her fingers touch the door slightly, lightly treading over the grooves of the wood. Afraid it would make a noise. Then her eyes shut painfully as she leans with her head against the door. She can hear him inside. He is already back. Shoveling around. Opening and closing a drawer.Leaning in, she turns to lay her shoulder. And a desperate need to cry aches in her throat. Not at anything. Maybe it's just the tiredness. Overwhelming tiredness. Or the whole idea of it all.But whatever it is, the urge to go to him becomes so great that she almost knocks. But then the door opens, and she has to grab onto something quickly. And he catches her as she falls over.Dorian looks down at her. Only for a second, before he pulls her inside and shuts the door behind her.Scanning over her hair and her skin, he lifts her arms and hair out of the way.“Are you hurt?”But the only thing she can do is shake her head.He narrows his eyes as he steps back. “Look at you. This is how he takes care of yo

Troy wakes slowly with her face on the sand, but beneath the weight of a thin blanket draped over her body. For a few long seconds she doesn’t move at all, her mind still trapped somewhere between dreams and memory while cold morning air brushes over her face. Then her eyes open and they don’t burn anymore. The realisation settles through her sluggishly. No fire behind her eyes. No claws scratching beneath her skin. Just exhaustion. Deep, bone-heavy exhaustion that makes her feel hollowed out from the inside. In front of her lies Calian. He’s awake already, stretched onto his side while his green eyes move slowly over her face, studying her carefully. Dust and dirt cover nearly every inch of him. Mud streaks along his jaw and forehead while his dark hair falls messily over his eyes.He looks terrible. And worried. The moment he sees she’s truly awake, his eyes finally shut briefly. Relief.Troy pushes herself up slightly, but pain instantly tears through her skull hard enough to make

When she regains awareness, the humans have vanished. In their place, dozens of wolves circle the smoldering fire.Troy blinks, looking down at her own paws. She isn't human anymore. Her fur is a light, pale color, though she can no longer perceive the world in true color; everything is a sharp grid of monochromatic shades.Next to her, Calian lets out a low, vibrating growl. Thick saliva drips from his massive jaw as his black eyes lock onto her pale form. His black hair ripples down his spine in anticipation, like a current passing through him.He scans the rest of the pack, ensuring everyone has survived the transition, and then he lifts his heavy head toward the sky.He unleashes a beautiful, majestic howl that rattles the leaves above. The sound hits Troy’s primitive brain like a physical wave. An overwhelming, irresistible urge takes over her thoughts, wiping away every remnant of her human identity. She tilts her head back, and alongside the rest of the pack, she joins the cho
