They walk through the huge red door of a well-lit mansion just outside of town.

She lifts her dress at the slit, just enough for the guard to look. He nods at the sight of the tattoo, and they proceed, without even checking Dorian.

Then she hands her coat to the butler at the door.

Revealing the dress, the black, silky fabric flows over her curves like water over a stream. And she’s not wearing a bra. She specifically decided not to. The dress isn't thin enough to be transparent, but it shows e

“What?” Troy looks over his face as she frantically tries to understand his words”… I… didn't know that.”“Now you do.”“Okay… But to be fair. I didn't ask you to sleep with her. I just asked you to seduce her.”“Right, but I had to improvise because your plan fell short. What was I supposed to do after that? Next time, think farther ahead.”“Are you… mad at me?”“Troy…that was a wicked thing you did. But… I’m not mad. That's not at all what I’m feeling.”The song ends, and the people applaud the orchestra. But Dorian shuts his eyes painfully and swears under his breath. As if he still needed to say something, while there was still music to drown out his voice. And Troy is almost relieved. Because the conversation was getting heavy. Perhaps to a point where she would have to give answers she wasn't ready to give yet.Because…in all honesty. A lot has changed. And it is glaringly obvious that the line between hate and love was a thin thread being stretched daily. And it might snap. Or

Troy’s eyes follow his movements. The way he talks to her smoothly, opening his body, the way he slides his hand over the stool behind her.The girl laughs. Dorian laughs, too. Openly. As if she is the most hilarious person in the damn room.Fuck. Did he have to laugh at her like that? That’s a bit much. Then he lifts the girl's chin and says something again. Her eyes sparkle as she looks into the silver-grey stare.Okay, actually, fuck that. This was a really bad idea. She probably thinks she’s really going to have him tonight. That those pretty pale grey eyes are going to stare deep into her soul while he fuck her.Stupid girl.Troy bites her teeth hard and clenches her purse tightly. She waits, but inside her, she wants to scream.Dorian lowers his head and plants soft kisses on the girl's neck. His hands slide over her arm.Troy almost stands up. In her mind, she can vividly imagine kicking that stool out from under her.Instead, she watches the whole thing in utter suspense, her

The dress isn't thin enough to be transparent, but it shows every detail of her skin.Dorian's eyes drift over her body slowly; his gaze catches briefly on her chest before returning to her face.A pulse jumps low in her stomach.Troy tilts her head and looks back at him, refusing to be the first one to look away.“Where’s your underwear, Troy?” He asks quietly, looking over her shoulder and scanning the people in the waiting crowd, before leering back at her.“I’m wearing it. However, it's scratching over the tattoo now. And instead of commenting on my n

Dorian Dorian waits in his car. The headlights are off, but inside he's adjusted the aircon three times to make it warmer. To make it perfect. Staring at the dorm room's entrance door, his fingers tap against the steering wheel. He looks at his watch. One minute past nine. Tap, tap, tap. Today has been long. He knew there was a meeting at Calian’s. The meeting. Where they would discuss his death. But most importantly, the fact that Troy had attended, has been fucking with his mind all day. Imagining her sitting there. Pretending. Like a lamb in the midst of wolves. The seconds pass by in agonizing slowness. Calm down, Dorian. She is no fucking lamb. She’s Troy. She’s a master pretender. When she finally texted him after the meeting, he could finally think again. Finally breathe. He checks again. Two minutes past nine. Just before he opens his car door to look for her, she opens the dorm door and steps out. Looking around, she spots his car parked in the dark alley, and she ma

“I have information,” Troy texts Dorian the second she steps out of Calian’s villa. She had made the quick excuse of developing a blinding migraine, then successfully slipped out the front doors. No one batted an eye. And Calian even played the concerned Alpha—poor soul. The man had no idea what type of person he had in his so-called pack.An amused, disbelieving smile tugs at the corner of her mouth. The typing bubble immediately appears on her screen as if he had been sitting and waiting for her text. “You're done?” “Yep. I left already.” “Thanks Fuck. Are you okay?” Troy smiles, lifting an eyebrow at her screen. He wants to know if she’s okay? “Yes, he doesn't suspect a thing. The man is as blind as a bat.” “Good. But that was the last of it. Ever.” Troy frowns and texts. “Really? Isn't that for me to decide?” “Troy, don't argue with me. That was the last. Full Stop.” Her fingers hover over the phone. Then… “Fine. Do you want to know what I heard?” “Go on.” “Nope. Not

“Settle down, everyone. We have a lot to discuss.”Calian steps onto the makeshift wooden platform he had erected for himself in the dead center of the room. The space is cramped, hidden deep within the underbelly of the old farm villa, illuminated only by the harsh, flickering amber glow of lamps. Scores of people surround him. There are about a dozen of them, by the looks of it. A dozen wolves who want a revolution.Troy settles quietly into the far corner of the room, drawing her denim jacket tightly around her shoulders. She fades purposefully into the background, a ghost in the shadows, positioning herself where she can closely observe every micro-expression, every shifting posture, and every secret glance exchanged in the crowd.“So, this is going down,” Calian announces, his voice dropping into a deep register. “First off, let’s vote. Who here feels it's time for Dorian to go?”Troy’s stomach immediately turns at the way he says his name. Dorian. As if it is just another name an
