Chapter Forty Eight.

Delilah was singing a song that she used to sing with her mother when Oriel got to the cell. As usual, she did not acknowledge him, so he let himself into the cell, and dragged Delilah up.

“What is going on? Am I going to die without saying goodbye to my mom?” Delilah asked with a small frown on her face. She had always felt that she would go like this, but she wasn’t mentally prepared for it.

“Let’s go.” Oriel didn’t bother to offer an explanation.

“You’re scaring me.” Delilah said; sounding firm, not at all scared.

“I just want to take you outside and see what all the others are missing out on while you bitch and moan to yourself every time.” Oriel said and Delilah scrunched her nose.

“I say that to myself. Even the cell mates can’t hear me. Are you sure that you’re not actually a vampire?” Delilah asked.

“Vampires are the junior versions of our kind.” Oriel sighed.
