Chapter Ten (Saraya's POV)

I went back into the room and waited for him, pacing back and forth I was a mess. My heart thudded at an irregular tempo. Impatience swelled in me. I needed to know what was going on and if Dane would not tell me then I would have to go looking for answers. "Go where though?" I muttered under my breath. "According to that creature, there's a war brewing," I argued with myself still pacing. My eyes settled on the glass wall covered by drapes and I walked to it.

I parted the drapes and stood there, scrutinizing the plain. It was dark out but I could see as clearly as day. The entire plain was covered in snow and tall pine trees were like shadowy monsters as far as eyes could see.

I lowered my gaze and they fell just to the ground outside the wall. There was a medieval fire pit built at the centre with wooden benches set at the side of it.
