Chapter One hundred and fifteen (Dane's POV) Present Time

I watched as a legion of wolves and Lycans milled to one side, about half of Vrionis armies, but the rest plus the ones with the neck bracelets did not stop. They started to rush forward towards us. Anastasios Martas howled and the guardians swept in after them.

"If you are with me, stand to the far right!" Bertulf yelled, "and let the grounds drink the blood of traitors!"

Vrionis half-shifted as he got closer to us. Bertulf did the same. And the difference between their beasts made me understand better the possible source of Vrionis' hatred. Bertulf was not a wolf but a mixed-breed Lycan.

"Don't die," I told him.

"He is no match for me," he growled back.

"He didn't have a mechanical arm then, he does now," I warned and turned my back for just a second thinking to cut off the weight holding the balloon steady, so it could float up unrestrained.
