Chapter 34: Welcome to Hope
The waves rocked our room back and forth like a crib. I circled my finger on Ava's shoulder as she slept on my chest.
I couldn't sleep most of the night. The mermaid as well as two of her friends came back and have been following us all night. They stayed close to my room away from the other crew members and their snarls kept me up.
Since I was up I took the time to prepare the spells I will need for today.
A large wave must have come by because the room shook and the bed even rattled a bit.
" What the." Ava groaned as she pushed herself up.
Her hair was disheveled and in her face. Her eyes opened and closed a few times as she yawned.
" Look who finally decided to get up." I chuckled as I kissed my cheek.
" What time is it?" She groaned.
" About eight o'clock. We should be reaching Kazan soon."
" Great because I can't stand another night in this boat." She sighed while she got up and started getting dressed.
