Hunter's POV

Without thoughts of remorse, I entered the store and waited right behind the counter, for the right moment to attack.

Confronting him while everyone was here would be too dangerous. I slipped into a corner and waited till one customer was left, I rested my back against my wall while I kept on monitoring him.

Once our eyes met, the smile on his face vanished, he knew who I was, he could smell what I was from a distance and he was aware of who sent me. His hand was shaking as he calculated the price of the customer's goods. He was trying to keep a straight face, trying to let the person think he was perfect but no, he wasn't, he's too fucked up to be perfect.

As soon as the customer made a move to leave, I quietly followed and locked the door as the customer stepped out of the door.

I changed the sign hung on the door from open to closed to avoid unnecessary interruptions.

"We need to talk," He said immediately I turned. I smirked at his foolishness.

"I'm not here to talk, I'm here for his goods" I replied, not ready to have a conversation with him.

"You're just a small boy, son. You can't even be more than seventeen years, why are you running this kind of errand for someone like that? You are different from him and you shouldn't be working for him"

I know what he's trying to do. He's trying to guilt-trip me so I'll consider letting this moment pass by him without paying his dues. No one would ever understand why I do what I do.

"Maybe you should keep the sermon till Sunday, priest. I don't have the time. The goods" I stretched forth my hands at him. He realized at that point that I wasn't ready for stories.

"Do you have parents?" He asked as he opened his drawer.

"None of your business" I replied aggressively.

"Are you in high school?"

I laughed.

"Are you an Alpha? Your eludes a power as great as that"

I couldn't react to his words.

"As I said, it is none of your fucking business, old face"

It was obvious at that moment that he thought I was here for a play or something.

Angrily, I removed the gun I'd been hiding underneath my shirt, cocked it, and pointed it at him.

I smirked as his eyes widened in horror.

"His goods or the money? With interest, if you pick the latter option. I don't want to use my claws to remove your eyes from your socket but if you delay me one more minute, I'll be more than glad to do that for you." I growled angrily.

Hurriedly, he searched through his drawers, counted some money, and stretched it towards me.

"I don't have the goods but here's the money but put the gun down first" he pleaded.

I smirked as I observed the envelope

"I wasn't sent here to take your life because if it was that way, a bullet would already be in your head or in your chest as we're talking right now but still, he'll make sure you pay for this"

I dragged the money out of his hands and quickly made my way out of the store. I hissed loudly at the outcome of this mission. He's going to be so pissed at this and I hope I'm not at the receiving end of his anger.

I suspected that the store owner would call the cops on me so I quickly entered the cab that I took into the city, which was still waiting to take me back to Paradise Creek'.

My phone suddenly started ringing and I removed it from my pocket to see that it was my mom. I ignored the call and returned it back in my pocket.

It started ringing the second time and I knew if I ignored it, she wouldn't stop calling. So I picked up the call.

"Where the hell did you go so early in the morning Hunter?" She screamed even before I could say hello or hi.

"I have some errands to run. I'll be back soon"

I replied

"I swear to God, Hunter, if you dare ruin things for your father with your nonchalant bad boy attitude this time around, I'll be the one to send you to juvenile prison myself, and if you piss me off, I'll throw your ass to the wolves, do you understand me?"

"No mother"

I dropped the call and smirked.

My father is contesting for the position of Mayor next month and for the past six months, my parents have been trying so hard to make me appear to the public as the bad boy who suddenly turned out to be a good boy. I was being used for their political agenda just like always but I don't give a damn about that.

They actually thought all I did was vandalism, beating up schoolboys, riding motorcycles, and wearing a leather jacket. They never knew those were just a cover-up for what I'm actually doing. It's a way to get their attention at something so they won't look behind the normal and see what's actually going on.

"I'll stop right here," I informed the driver. One of our men was already waiting at my father's gate. I passed the money and the gun to him as usual and he knew what he was supposed to do.

I forgot to tell the storeman to get a golden casket for himself because that'll be the last chance he'll get to make a choice. Even if I didn't do it, another person would be sent to do it, he has to pay for his sins.

"Eropa?" I asked Stanley, the guy in front of me.

"He's in the safe house"

"Make sure his skin gets peeled off before I get back" I instructed him and he nodded. "Also, I want to see some blood" I smirked.

"You're a psychopath, Hunter"

I ignored his comments and waved, "I'll see you later, Stanny boy" I touched his shoulder and walked towards our building.

As soon as I stepped into the gate, I saw some men in Black, about five of them, standing in front of the house. They didn't give me a second look as they stayed rooted on the same spot.

"Who are those people?" I asked my sister, Katie, as I walked into the house. She was eating her cereals and at the same time taking selfies.

She ignored me.

"KATIE!" I yelled.

"Oh my God, what is your problem" She yelled back.

"I asked you a simple question," I repeated. "Who are those people in front of the house?"

"I don't know. Maybe you should go ask them" she replied angrily.

I pushed her a little bit into the dining area and her phone dropped into the bowl in front of me.

She widened her eyes and her hand was hung in the air for seconds.

"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU, HUNTER. HOW DARE YOU?" she screamed at the top of her voice and I couldn't stop myself from laughing.

"What's going on here?" My mom asked as she came rushing down the stairs.

"He made me drop my phone into my food. My new iPhone that daddy just got for me"

She complained, raising her voice.

"I didn't ask you to be eating, texting, and taking selfies at the same time" I shrugged.

"Ooh, you'll never understand how hard it is to be a thirteen years old lady wolf in this time and age when all you've been is an asshole and an asshat" she cursed and I laughed.

"Watch your language Katie" my mom cautioned her.

Katie removed her phone from the bowl and walked towards me.

Gritting her teeth, she said, "I promise you Hunter Webster, if this phone ends up being damaged, I'll damage your life beyond repair"

I feigned surprise.

"My God, I'm so scared right now. Please spare me, please" I mocked her.

The next thing she did was raise her knee up and kick me where the sun didn't shine.

I doubled down onto the floor and groaned out in pain. Even though her kick wasn't that hard, I still felt the impact, and to make it real, I had to fall to the floor.

"KATIE," my mom screamed after her as she matched off angrily.

Now I understand how hard it is to be a thirteen years old girl.

I stood up immediately she left to see my mother glaring at me.

"Where have you been?"

She asked angrily.

"Will that be a part of a political agenda as well?" I asked in return.

"Stop being stupid, Hunter. Answer my question, where the hell have you been?"

I clicked my tongue and replied, "Everywhere. I was running some personal errands and the good news is, I'm back" I replied.

"For Christ's sake, you're just seventeen. I swear to God Hunter if I find out that you've been moving with the wrong group of people and you end up ruining this election for your father, I'll disown you" she threatened.

I got really angry with her words but I had to keep it in check.

"I like your promise but I won't hold my breath"

I replied and walked past her to my room.

"You are five years late for that" I mumbled under my breath.

As soon as I opened the door of my room, I saw a suit on my bed and a piece of paper on it. I picked the paper up and read its contents. I cursed repeatedly and angrily.

My parents will be holding stupid fundraising bullshit again tonight and I have to attend. I have my own things I need to do, I've got things to run but now I can't because of them.

I picked up my phone to make a phone call,

"Where are you?"

"At the safe house but we're on our way to Maddie's store"

"I'll meet you there soon," I replied. Angrily, I squeezed the paper in my hand and threw it against the wall. I hate that I have to change my plans by assigning someone else to do what I'm supposed to do myself.

"Shit," I cursed out before opening the door and banging it on my way out.

"Where are you going, Hunter?" My mom yelled after me.

"Somewhere important" I hissed and didn't stop as I walked past her.
