Rhett’s POV

“Get more statements from the others, I need more information on—-” I say, but then the mansion feels wrong the moment I step in. Too still and too quiet.

The guards at the entrance straighten at the sight of me, but their eyes flick away too fast. And in that moment, my wolf stirs immediately.

Something is wrong. I pause by the mansion doorway, eyes roaming the whole place. Just when I do that, it clicks.

“Where is she?” I ask.

No one answers, instead they look at each other. And then the taller one answers. “The Luna is… not in her chambers, Alpha.”

Not in her chambers. For a second, I think I misheard. Then the air shifts; every instinct goes sharp as I glare at them.

“What do you mean, the Luna isn't in her chambers?” I snort.

“We, she isn't,” another responds.

I tighten my fist at my sides, walking into the mansion. Hating the fact that I can't even mindlink her. Her weak wolf is the damn cause of that.

“Find her,” I say, loud enough that both men blanch.
