Aurora's POV

The door opened, startling me. I blew out a sigh of relief when Ellie walked in. "Hey, you okay boo?", she asked, walking up to me. She tilted her head as she took in my aggrevated state. "Yeah, just a little flustered", I grinned. She nodded her head slowly. "I can see that", she chuckled.

"Liam asked me to come check on you", she said, pointing towards the door. I blushed further. How sweet of him. "I'm glad I did, though", she chirped. "Oh?", I grinned, taking a deep breath. "Yes. I want to take you out tonight. Get you out of the castle. I'll show you what I do for fun", she smiled excitedly, as she lifted her eyebrows in a playful manner.

"Really? Where?", she had me intrigued. I love sneaking out to go to parties, bonfires or random hikes. It's the only sense of freedom that I get. "A buddy of mine is throwing a party on the beach. You'll love it", she said. "Yes. I've always wanted to go to a beach. What time?", I questioned.

"8 o'clock. I'll come to your room and get you. You don't have a beach in Silver Ridge?", she asked surprised. "No", I shook my head. She took me by the arm and led me out of the bathroom. "That's crazy", she laughed.

Liam was leaning against the opposite wall. His arms crossed over his chest and one leg bent to prop himself up on the wall. He pushed off the wall when we walked towards him. "I'll leave you", she grinned, releasing my arm.

"Are you okay, princess?", he whispered, touching my chin gently. "Yeah. He just got under my skin for a moment. I'm okay now. Thank you for sending Ellie in", I thanked him with a tender smile. He mirrored my expressions. "I'm glad she could help", he murmured, letting his thumb trace my jaw line.

My lips parted as sparks shot through my neck, zapping my chest. My heart rate accelerated from his feather-like touch.

"How can you hear my wolf?", his question was random, yet his eyes were fixated on my neck. "You spoke to the fawn as if you could hear it talk back", he stated. "I could", I muttered simply. Bright coals of burning amber clashed my with eyes.

'You can speak to animals?', his wolf's deep voice penetrated my mind. "Yes", I breathed, waiting for the jokes and jabs. "That's amazing, princess", his voice was light, even fascinated. "Sometimes", I shrugged. "Why do you say that?", he frowned.

"We should probably head back into the ball before questions get stirred up", I laughed nervously, attempting to side-step him. His arm shot out across my waist and stopped me. I turned my head towards him, our noses almost touching.

"Let them stir. I need an answer first", his voice was low and gravally. "I wish I had the ability to block it out sometimes. It is both a blessing and a curse", I uttered, slowly removing his hand, and walking off.

I found my way to the bar and ordered something stronger than champagne. I braced myself as Trent approached me.

"Get me a scotch", Liam's deep voice projected to the bartender, as his chest blocked the view of an angry 'future' Alpha.

"He's going to have to go through me to get to you", It was a threat, but one that brought me comfort. "How long is this supposed to last?", I whispered, looking up at him. "Another hour or two", he answered, looking at his watch. He took a swig of his scotch. My eyes locked onto his neck as his adam's apple bobbed with the movement.

Instrumental music played a note that I recognized all to well, making the words fall from my lips before I could stop them. "I found God, on the corner of First and Amistad. Where the west, was all but won", I sang, stopping when I noticed that the Prince had frozen mid swig.

"Don't stop", he ordered, setting his glass down, and creasing his eyebrows. "All alone, smoking his last cigarette", I continued, as he pulled me onto the dance floor. His eyes were focused on my lips as I sang each verse.

"Lost and insecure. You found me, you found me", I started to forget that we weren't alone, but it didn't stop me. My voice was stronger than I had ever heard it before. Like it was being projected by a greater force.

By the time the song came to an end, we were the only ones on the dance floor, and had drew a crowd.

Aurora's POV"You don't know that", I countered. He tightened his grip on my waist and pulled me closer. "Yes, I do", he growled in a low whisper. Chills spread across my skin, not being missed by the man that caused it. A beautiful smirk formed on his face. He pushed me away to spin me before pulling me back to him. "Why are you so nice to me?", I asked, peering up at him. "What kind of life do you live if you are truly astonished by me being a gentleman?", he questioned. I took a look around the ballroom, avoiding his question. I'm not ready to address that, and now is not the time or place. Throngs of men and women dance around us. Liam's POVThe silence is deafening between us, as my little mate looked every where but at me. I guess that's not something she wants to answer. I gently stroked the exposed skin on her lower back, making her gasp. I smirked at the speed her head whipped around to face me. "Now I've got your attention", I whispered in her ear. "You always have my at

Aurora's POV"You are just full of surprises aren't you?", Liam whispered. "That was beautiful. Do you mind singing another for us?", The King approached, making me quickly scramble away from Liam and bow. "Uh", I stuttered. "Please, it has been a while since we have had live entertainment", The King pushed. Entertainment. That's all I have ever been. 'You don't have to do this', Liam's wolf said in my head. "Of course", I smiled, bowing to the King. "Delightful", the King clapped. Liam grabbed my wrist to stop me. "You really don't have to do this", he whispered. I smiled gently at him. "Yes, I do. You never refuse a King's request", I uttered, straightening his tie, before turning and walking away from him. I walked over to the band, and accepted the microphone being handed to me. "Can you play Ordinary?", I questioned them. They whispered among one another, before nodding in agreement. The King led the Queen onto the dance floor, clearing it. I felt hateful eyes burning holes in

Aurora's POV"I was watching you. I saw your interactions. Heard you talking to it. I heard what you said to it when Trent called your name. When he ran after it, I followed", he explained, with a gentle shrug. I let him re-take my hand. "I stopped him before he reached it, made sure he left. The mama appeared out of nowhere. So, they were reunited", he finished his story. I rolled my tongue between my teeth, and bit my lip. "Stop that", he growled lowly, the beautiful amber color flashing in his eyes. "Why did you do that?", I whispered curiously. "Because he was going to take the life of an innocent creature just to hurt you. I couldn't let either of those things happen", he answered. The way he looked at me set my soul elight. Igniting a fire deep within me. The song came to an end, causing our feet to quit moving, but our bodies didn't want to pull away from one another. I opened my mouth to thank him when I was interrupted. "Mind if I cut in for a turn?", Trent's voice made m

Aurora's POVIt was then that I realized that I had a death grip on his arm. "I'm so sorry", I uttered, loosening my hold. "You can squeeze me as much as you need, princess", he whispered. Trent, my father and the Alpha came into sight, making me subconsiously grip his arm again. "Aurora", my father's voice called out. Liam walked me over to him. "Yes Beta?", I responded, addressing him how he wishes to be. Which only seemed to piss him off. "Prince Liam, it's good to see you, again", Alpha Terry greeted, sticking his hand out to shake. Liam's eyes drifted down to the Alpha's extended hand before coming back up to meet his. "It's amazing to me that the only person from your pack who isn't required to follow wolf law, is the only one who has showed me any respect", Liam's voice was deep, as if his wolf was speaking through him. "Aurora is mine", Trent boldly claimed, reaching out for me. Liam pulled me out of his reach and gently moved my hair off my shoulder, exposing my neck. Goo

Liam's POV"I did not expect such a request from you, your highness", Rhonda greeted, as I stepped into her shop. Which was a double suite on the first floor of the castle. "Me either", I smirked. "So, who's the special lady?", she pried, showing me the selection that she set out for me. I walked to the rack and looked through the many different colors she set out. "I'd prefer not to say just yet", I uttered, laying my hands on an emerald green dress. "Pack this one up for me, please. Match it with shoes too", I said, handing Rhonda the dress. I pulled a blank stock card from the pile on the counter and scribbled out a quick note. 'For you, princess. You deserve a dress as beautiful as you'I placed it on top of her dress, and gently laid the wrapping paper over it before closing the gift box. "I can't wait to meet her", Rhonda smiled. I smirked as I walked away. I can't wait to see her in this dress. I headed up to her room. I tapped on the door, and listened for any movement bey
