LOGINAurora's POV
"You are just full of surprises aren't you?", Liam whispered. "That was beautiful. Do you mind singing another for us?", The King approached, making me quickly scramble away from Liam and bow. "Uh", I stuttered. "Please, it has been a while since we have had live entertainment", The King pushed.
Entertainment. That's all I have ever been. 'You don't have to do this', Liam's wolf said in my head. "Of course", I smiled, bowing to the King. "Delightful", the King clapped. Liam grabbed my wrist to stop me. "You really don't have to do this", he whispered.
I smiled gently at him. "Yes, I do. You never refuse a King's request", I uttered, straightening his tie, before turning and walking away from him. I walked over to the band, and accepted the microphone being handed to me.
"Can you play Ordinary?", I questioned them. They whispered among one another, before nodding in agreement. The King led the Queen onto the dance floor, clearing it.
I felt hateful eyes burning holes in me. I dared not look. I was banned from singing in the pack. Trent believed it drew too much attention to me. I only ever noticed the joy it seemed to bring other people.
'You've come this far, princess', Liam's wolf penetrated my head. My eyes snapped up to his, falling into the gray rocky terrain. 'You've got this', he smirked.
And I started singing. I poured my heart into every verse, as the King moved his Queen among the dance floor. Liam's eyes never left me. I watched him refuse the hand of many she wolves, who were trying to get him to dance with him. All trying to win the favor as the next Queen.
I refused to look at any of the members of my pack. My father and the Alpha do whatever Trent wants, feels the same anger as him. The Alpha does it because it's his son. My father does it because he feels like he failed him for not provided him with a Beta.
I handed the microphone off the the man who handed it to me, before I could be asked to sing another. Liam approached me with a glass of water. "Thank you", I breathed, accepting it from him. "That was beautiful, Aurora", he said, putting his hands in his pockets.
His voice and eyes reflected pride and astonishment. "Thank you", I whispered. I felt a hand grab my elbow harshly, as a familiar figure invaded my space. "Can I talk to you for a minute?", Trent hissed. Liam stepped forward ready to pounce. His amber eyes burning holes in Trent.
"I'd rather not", I politely declined, attempting to step away from him. "Now, Aurora", his wolf spoke. Liam reached out and wrapped his arm around my waist. He pulled me out of Trent's grasp and to his side in a flash.
"She said, NO", Liam's growl was deep , vibrating my soul. Trent's eyes turned black as he took a step towards us. Liam moved me behind him as he stood face to face with Trent.
"Son, control yourself", Alpha Terry interviened. Trent's normal green eyes came back to the surface, as his sight drifted to me. 'Watch your step', Linc, Trent's wolf growled. I gripped Liam's side, seeking a comfort that my heart told me I could find in him.
Liam leaned into my touch, still holding his protective stance.
Everyone had stopped and stared to assess the situation. Trent slowly backed away, not breaking his stare until someone stepped in the way. Liam turned back to me, causing me to drop my hand.
"Dance with me, princess", he whispered, as the band resumed playing. I nodded my head, as I accepted his hand. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He has done nothing but protect me from Trent, since I have met him.
"What did he just say to you?", his voice was low, calculating. "Before he walked away, what did his wolf say to you?", he rephrased. I took a breath and looked down at his chest. "To watch my step", I whispered honestly. A low rumble erupted deep in his chest.
"Don't waste your energy on him. He's not worth it", I uttered, stroking his shoulder with my thumb. Liam leaned in close, his lips brushing the shell of my ear. "But, you are", he muttered.
Aurora's POV"You don't know that", I countered. He tightened his grip on my waist and pulled me closer. "Yes, I do", he growled in a low whisper. Chills spread across my skin, not being missed by the man that caused it. A beautiful smirk formed on his face. He pushed me away to spin me before pulling me back to him. "Why are you so nice to me?", I asked, peering up at him. "What kind of life do you live if you are truly astonished by me being a gentleman?", he questioned. I took a look around the ballroom, avoiding his question. I'm not ready to address that, and now is not the time or place. Throngs of men and women dance around us. Liam's POVThe silence is deafening between us, as my little mate looked every where but at me. I guess that's not something she wants to answer. I gently stroked the exposed skin on her lower back, making her gasp. I smirked at the speed her head whipped around to face me. "Now I've got your attention", I whispered in her ear. "You always have my at

Aurora's POVThe door opened, startling me. I blew out a sigh of relief when Ellie walked in. "Hey, you okay boo?", she asked, walking up to me. She tilted her head as she took in my aggrevated state. "Yeah, just a little flustered", I grinned. She nodded her head slowly. "I can see that", she chuckled. "Liam asked me to come check on you", she said, pointing towards the door. I blushed further. How sweet of him. "I'm glad I did, though", she chirped. "Oh?", I grinned, taking a deep breath. "Yes. I want to take you out tonight. Get you out of the castle. I'll show you what I do for fun", she smiled excitedly, as she lifted her eyebrows in a playful manner. "Really? Where?", she had me intrigued. I love sneaking out to go to parties, bonfires or random hikes. It's the only sense of freedom that I get. "A buddy of mine is throwing a party on the beach. You'll love it", she said. "Yes. I've always wanted to go to a beach. What time?", I questioned. "8 o'clock. I'll come to your room a
Aurora's POV"I was watching you. I saw your interactions. Heard you talking to it. I heard what you said to it when Trent called your name. When he ran after it, I followed", he explained, with a gentle shrug. I let him re-take my hand. "I stopped him before he reached it, made sure he left. The mama appeared out of nowhere. So, they were reunited", he finished his story. I rolled my tongue between my teeth, and bit my lip. "Stop that", he growled lowly, the beautiful amber color flashing in his eyes. "Why did you do that?", I whispered curiously. "Because he was going to take the life of an innocent creature just to hurt you. I couldn't let either of those things happen", he answered. The way he looked at me set my soul elight. Igniting a fire deep within me. The song came to an end, causing our feet to quit moving, but our bodies didn't want to pull away from one another. I opened my mouth to thank him when I was interrupted. "Mind if I cut in for a turn?", Trent's voice made m
Aurora's POVIt was then that I realized that I had a death grip on his arm. "I'm so sorry", I uttered, loosening my hold. "You can squeeze me as much as you need, princess", he whispered. Trent, my father and the Alpha came into sight, making me subconsiously grip his arm again. "Aurora", my father's voice called out. Liam walked me over to him. "Yes Beta?", I responded, addressing him how he wishes to be. Which only seemed to piss him off. "Prince Liam, it's good to see you, again", Alpha Terry greeted, sticking his hand out to shake. Liam's eyes drifted down to the Alpha's extended hand before coming back up to meet his. "It's amazing to me that the only person from your pack who isn't required to follow wolf law, is the only one who has showed me any respect", Liam's voice was deep, as if his wolf was speaking through him. "Aurora is mine", Trent boldly claimed, reaching out for me. Liam pulled me out of his reach and gently moved my hair off my shoulder, exposing my neck. Goo
Liam's POV"I did not expect such a request from you, your highness", Rhonda greeted, as I stepped into her shop. Which was a double suite on the first floor of the castle. "Me either", I smirked. "So, who's the special lady?", she pried, showing me the selection that she set out for me. I walked to the rack and looked through the many different colors she set out. "I'd prefer not to say just yet", I uttered, laying my hands on an emerald green dress. "Pack this one up for me, please. Match it with shoes too", I said, handing Rhonda the dress. I pulled a blank stock card from the pile on the counter and scribbled out a quick note. 'For you, princess. You deserve a dress as beautiful as you'I placed it on top of her dress, and gently laid the wrapping paper over it before closing the gift box. "I can't wait to meet her", Rhonda smiled. I smirked as I walked away. I can't wait to see her in this dress. I headed up to her room. I tapped on the door, and listened for any movement bey
