Chapter 2: Prince Liam

Aurora's POV

I was grateful I brought the nicer of my clothes. Though, it was but three outfits, I was still thankful for them. Everyone within the castle walls were all dressed to the nines, showing off their wealth. I french-braided my hair, leaving a few strands out to frame my face.

I chose my white sundress that ruffled around my knees. I picked a pair of matching sandals and headed back downstairs to the dining hall, as instructed.  I found my father and Alpha talking to some of the other men and made my way over to them.

"What the fuck is this?", Trent hissed, coming up behind me and tugging on my dress. "I'm trying to fit in", I replied, not looking him in the eyes. "Kind of hard to do when everyone knows you aren't a wolf", he cackled maliciously.

I bit my tongue as I turned my head away to look at the details of the dining hall. Goosebumps spread up my spine at the sensation of being watched. I meekly scanned the room, clashing eyes with a rocky horizon. They flashed a beautiful burnt amber before returning to their original color.

My breath caught in my throat. The man was gorgeous with jet black curly hair, a sharp law-line, and shoulders so broad I would never be able to wrap my arms fully around them.

I felt a jab in my side, causing me to flinch as I turned to face my group. My father stared at me with disdain. "I don't know why we brought you. You never fucking listen. Always in your own little world, just like your mother", he hissed at me.

"My apologies, father. There's a lot happening at once, I'm not used to it", I apologized. "Don't call me that here. It's a dishonor to have a daughter like you", he snapped, getting within an inch of my face. "Yes sir", I gritted out.

"Prince Liam, it's so good to see you again. Man, the last time I saw you, you were yay high", Alpha Terry said, holding his hand up to his waist. My father had backed out of my face before the Alpha finished his greeting.

"You remember my Beta, Lance, and this is my son, Trent", Alpha Terry's voice was abnormally light. I kept my head down. I'm not allowed to look up. I know that. The Prince's aura was strong, exceedingly dominant, but not oppressing. No. Instead, it was like a blanket of serenity, safety.

"And yours?", his voice made my knees weak. I know he was talking to me. He had to be. There was no one else in the group to ask. "That's-", "I wasn't talking to you", Prince Liam cut my father off with a sharp tone.

"Aurora, your highness", I uttered, bowing his way. "Aurora", he repeated, as if he was trying it out on his lips. He placed his hand out to take mine. I hesitated before obliging, knowing it would only shame my pack further if I refused.

As my hand touched his, tingles spread up my arm, causing me to gasp. "It's a pleasure, Aurora", he bowed and touched his lips to the back of my hand. Why did he just do that? My heart hammered in my chest. This felt so intimate, but natural.

My fear lies in the consequences I will face for this interaction. The prince gently released my hand, before turning back to the group as a whole. I could feel the anger rolling off of my three traveling companions.

"Welcome to my home. I hope you enjoy your stay", Prince Liam said smoothly, before turning on his heel and walking away. Alpha Terry and my father stood side by side in utter shock and simmering in anger.

Aurora peered up at me curiously with her sun filled eyes. The light glinting off of them as a hint of a smirk crossed her lips. She put an arm behind her back, swaying slightly as she took a step toward me. She toyed with my shirt. A beautiful smile on her face. Her cheeks reddend with a blush before she spoke. "Who said I didn't want you to mark me?", she asked, playfulness in her voice. My hands shot out and grabbed her by the waist to pull her to me, smashing our chests together. "Do you want me to mark you?", I questioned, hopefullness lacing my voice. She bit her lower lip, and cocked her head to the side. "Let's go practice", she chirped, pulling herself from my grasp and skipping away from me. What just happened? Wait a minute. It only took a few wide strides before I had her in my grip once agai

I felt my body and soul reconnect with a zap. My eyes shot open, catching Liam off guard. "Hey, beautiful. How do you feel?", he whispered, running his thumb over my cheek. "Better", I smiled. "Much better."Liam grinned, "Good" "I met the moon goddess", I gasped. A sparkle shined in his eyes as he watched my excitement. "I know", he flashed a toothy grin. I sat up and connected my lips to his, surprising him. His fingers entangled in my hair, gripping it tightly. I ran my hand up his shoulder and down his back, pulling him closer to me. A subtle growl vibrated our chests. A growl of pleasure, content, happiness. Our chests rose and fell heavily, when our lips parted. "What was that for?", he asked softly. "Because you deserved it", I whispered, with a hint of a smile. "How?", he chuckled in disbelief. "By keeping me safe while

Aurora's POVLiam's face mirrored mine. Our eyes growing wide from the clear demand. His eyes locked on mine. He swallowed hard before nodding and dropping his arm with a sigh. I approached the spec with caution and now fear. My soul broke when my brain registered what I was staring at. I dropped to my knees as a sob tore through my chest. Liam wrapped his arms around my shoulders, offering me his silent support. I reached my hand out and placed it on the gashed, stiff side of the fawn. My breath was stolen from me, images of Trent chasing and killing the baby, before I collapsed. 'Aurora, wake up. We need to talk', the voice was sweet, smooth, feminine. 'Awake, my child.'My eyes shot open. Liam sat above me, an expression of concern on his face as he held me closely. But something didn't feel right. As I sat up, Liam didn't move, causing me to subsequently pass through him. I bolted to my feet, panic rising in my throat. 'Am I dead?', I asked, touching my body. A serene chuckle me

Aurora's POVHis hand on my lower back was gentle, though taut. I stayed silent as we walked to his room. "Get changed and we will go train", he instructed, pointing to the workout clothes on his bed when we walked in his room. I sat my bag on the floor and turned to face him.He cocked his head to the side as he evaulated me. "Are you angry with me?", I asked. His features softened as he cupped my cheeks. "Not at all, little one", he whispered. "Then, what's wrong?", I questioned. He sighed, as he stroked my cheek with his thumb. "I'm angry that your father hasn't been taking care of you like he's supposed to. Wolf or not", he answered through gritted teeth. The pain in my chest eased knowing he wasn't angry with me. "I apologize for that spilling over on you. I was not trying to take it out on you", his words were gentle and sincere. "Please forgive me", he muttered. I nodded my head with a light smile. "I do". He kissed my forehead, his lips lingering on my skin. "Please get read

Liam's POVAurora took a second to collect herself before turning her face toward mine. "It's not the act that makes me nervous. Talking about it makes me... uncomfortable", she muttered. I smirked, as I looked over her sweet innocent face. "You can put my dick in your mouth, but you can't say that you were riding it?", I chuckled. Her eyes grew wide, as her cheeks flushed red. She gasped, attempting to free herself from my hold, only succeeding in turning to face me. I laughed in amusement, as I backed her against the bookshelf. "You are mine. You know that right?", I asked, running my thumb along her jaw. Her lips parted and ehr breathing shifted. "Yes", it was but a whisper on her tongue. "Say it, princess", my voice was low and guttural. "I'm yours", she uttered softly. Zeus purred in my mind, full of happiness that she recognizes us as her mate. I captured her lips in a gentle kiss. Liam's POV"Are you studying?", I asked, setting the books down and startling her by accident. "Uh", she froze momentarily. "No, I wasn't", she answered honestly. "Good girl. Thank you for being honest. What's occupying your thoughts instead?", I asked, combing her hair out of her face. "My anxiety is peaked, right now. I've never stood against my pack before. So, I guess I'm pondering the unknown at the moment. A bit worried I won't be able to defend myself if Trent attempts to solidify this bond", she sighed, rubbing her chest in discomfort. "We are going to fix this, little one", I whispered, stroking the back of her neck. "I'm right here, now. You're safe, princess. Study", I commanded tenderly. She nodded, looking down at the book in front of her. I hate that she feels this way. I wish I could take the feeling away quicker. But, I remember reading something about this before. There was a process to reverse it. A process that I spent hours searching for. I answered any questio
